Paul didn’t understand the reason. But Kavin had made it clear what was going on. Of course, the D-list actress hadn’t really expected Wilfred to look at her. But as long as she had a little connection with Wilfred and created such a news. Her studio would manipulate it and set up her image as Miss Millionaire. So that they could double her price in the circle. Wilfred’s reaction was exactly what they wanted. It would help them create a wave of popularity.

Kavin looked at the clock and said hesitantly, “The person sent by Master Liang has arrived.

Wilfred replied lightly. Kavin wanted to add “is a girl”, but Wilfred had gone out.

When they reached the gate, Lorry was standing in front of the marble sculpture. She was wearing a white sports coat and a cap, looking so cool. The complex drawing of people and streetscape in ancient style was like scattered parts of the famous painting Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival. They made up for the classic and elegant characters “Cuiyu Pavilion”. Lorry seemed to be interested in the signboard.

Kevin made a slight coughing sound. Lorry turned around. Her eyes flew over the crowd and fell on Wilfred.

In their previous encounter, Wilfred wore a cardigan and held his beads, looking like an old cadre. If he added a birdcage and a teapot, he could cultivate his spirit in the mountains. But today, Wilfred wore a suit. It took Lorry a while to adjust.

In fact, Wilfred was very young and handsome.  It was known that some people were handsome on the surface, while others were elegant to the core. He was probably one of the latter. When he walked over, he exuded a superior aura.

Paul let out a slight scorn, “Why did they send a girl?”

Kavin and Paul were brothers. They had been at Wilfred’s side for many years. But they didn’t look alike. One looked gentle, the other powerful. Paul was a strong man with large muscles. He had trained in equipment and martial arts abroad. And he was Wilfred’s personal bodyguard.

Paul’s voice was not loud, but it reached Lorry’s ears. She looked over and suddenly realized that all the people around Wilfred were men.

So what’s wrong with being a woman? Was there sex discrimination?

Lorry looked at Paul flirtatiously. The atmosphere was a bit tense. But seconds later, Wilfred had withdrawn his gaze and walked out without looking back. Kavin was a little embarrassed and asked, “What about… the girl?”

“Let her follow.” Wilfred spoke calmly.

Paul followed behind Wilfred and said in a low voice, “Boss, I can knock that girl out with one punch. What’s the point of having her with us? Should we ask Master Liang to send someone else?”

The elevator door opened, but Wilfred did not enter immediately. Instead, he gave Paul a meaningful look. His eyes showed no emotion under his rimless glasses, but he could create a strong feeling of oppression that way. Paul suddenly felt a little cold.

On the way to the conference site, Paul, Lorry and Wilfred were in a car, with Lorry sitting in the front passenger seat. Kavin got into another car and followed.

Paul suddenly remembered something and said, “Boss, we’ll be in Seapolis City the day after tomorrow. And we have to leave for a week. Would you like to go back to the Spencer family during that time? After all, your petite little wife…”

“No.” Wilfred cut him off coldly. His eyes were warning under the rimless glasses.

The atmosphere in the car was a little weird at the moment. The girl in the front seat sat up awkwardly. She had met Wilfred several times, but neither of them had mentioned their marriage engagement. She had never expected it to be mentioned by a completely uninformed person.

She unconsciously glanced at the man in black suit through the rearview mirror. Coincidentally, the man was staring at her in the same way, and she saw her expression change dramatically in just a few seconds. Her delicate features suddenly became vivid, and all sorts of emotions gathered in her bright eyes. Wilfred even found it a little funny. In fact, he did not notice that the corners of his lips actually held a slight curve.

Paul sighed, “In my opinion, if the Spencer family has chosen a good-looking girl for you, it’s not that hard to accept her. It’s just that she’s an ugly girl. I remember you said that her skin was so dark that her eyes were the only normal part of her, right? That would be creepy after turning off the lights.”

“…” Lorry didn’t expect that she was normal with only a pair of eyes in Wilfred’s impression.

Unconsciously, she shifted her gaze to the rearview mirror and looked at herself. Dark skin? Only the eyes were normal? What? Would they be color blind after sex discrimination?

Lorry was born in Beachford City and lived by the sea. She was free and played in the sun all day like a wild child. When she was sent to the Spencer family, she was thin, tanned and short, just like a refugee. In addition, her teeth were in the process of changing. The lack of teeth  indeed made her look ugly.

But Grandpa liked Lorry from the first sight. He praised her for being sweet, lovable, and like a little princess. Everyone in the Spencer family had suspected that Grandpa was suffering from either senile dementia or glaucoma.

Wilfred’s memory of Lorry stopped at the age of eleven. After that, he went abroad. They didn’t interact anymore. In fact, she had no connection to the Spencer family after Grandpa died.

Wilfred turned and stared at Paul. Paul was satisfied  with his words and even winked at Wilfred. Although Paul was strong as King Kong on the outside, he was soft in his heart. He usually joked with Wilfred in private. But now he felt that Wilfred radiated a sense of cold. Was it an illusion?

He immediately changed the subject and asked Lorry, “Hey little girl, what is your name?”

“Lolly.”

“Lolly what?”

“More.”

“Oh, Lolly More* (her real name was Lorry Moore), that means… money more! What a good name.”
