A Fateful Antidote

There was a voice box above Lorry. Under such a loud noise, she lowered her head and closed her eyes. Her petite body was very calm, and she was completely unperturbed by the external environment. Her image was actually harmonious when blended into the background wall.

Wilfred frowned slightly and stared at her. Kevin, who was sitting below, was very sensitive to Wilfred’s expression. He followed Wilfred’s gaze and looked over, breaking into a cold sweat.

Due to the delay in the speeches of these few old men, the original question and answer session was reduced to 15 minutes. Only two questions were asked before the morning session ended. This caused the media, who had been waiting all morning, to become impatient. A commotion broke out in the crowd.

As Wilfred walked off the stage, he was surrounded by a group of people.

“Excuse me, Mr. Spencer, are you planning to stay in China for a long time?”

“Is it true that your overseas BK Group will interfere with Greencity Group’s capital operation?”

“There are rumors online today that you and Nicole are getting married. Do you have anything to say about that?”

Wilfred frowned and turned to the reporter who had just asked the question.

He was completely surrounded. Kevin tried his best to push his way through the crowd. Paul and the other leaders of the Cuiyu Pavilion also blocked the wireless microphones that were about to touch Wilfred’s face. The scene became very chaotic at that moment. The security guards of the conference center rushed to maintain order.

Wilfred pushed on his rimless glasses. Standing in the crowd, his cold eyes expressed a kind of untouchable aura.

At that moment, someone behind the reporters suddenly picked up a bottle and threw it at him. In the confusion, no one even noticed.

Wilfred’s eyes went cold. Just as the man was about to raise his wrist, a leg suddenly kicked him hard from behind. His wrist turned sideways, and the unknown liquid aimed at Wilfred was thrown at a male reporter. The male reporter screamed in terror. Sensing the smell of the liquid, he began to struggle with the man who threw the bottle.

At the same time, Wilfred’s wrist was suddenly grabbed by a slender hand. The force was so great that he was slightly shocked. In the next second, he was pulled out of the crowd. He shook off the hand holding him. Lorry looked back in surprise. Wilfred’s face was dark, as if a storm was brewing.

“???” Lorry blinked her eyes slightly and stared at him inexplicably.

Kavin and the other man rushed over. They surrounded Wilfred and asked him nervously, “Boss, are you all right?”

Within a second, the stern look in Wilfred’s eyes disappeared completely. It was replaced by his usual calm and aloof demeanor. Lorry even wondered if she had just made a mistake.

Wilfred left the place under the escort of his men. Lorry looked at the chaos behind her and followed them out.

As soon as she left, Kavin dragged her a few steps behind the group. He scolded Lorry mercilessly, “How could you fall asleep in the middle of the meeting? Do you know your duty? The bigger the conference, the more attention you should pay.  If there had been an accident just now, you would not have had time to react. If you do it again, we will definitely contact your school.

Lorry pursed her lips and said nothing. The man in the front suddenly stopped.

“Are you hungry?”

Both Kevin and Lorry looked up at the same time. Wilfred put his hands in his pockets and looked at them calmly. The others also stopped and looked at them.

Kevin was a little flattered and said with a smile, “Well, I’m not very hungry. I had a big breakfast, just in case…”

“Are you hungry?” Wilfred obviously did not look at Kevin. He stared at Lorry and asked again.

“Yes.” She nodded honestly.

Lorry’s light brown eyes were bright. She always looked at people without being evasive. She was so magnanimous that one would feel burning under her gaze.

“Keep up with me.” Wilfred strode forward without looking at her.

Kevin stared at his boss in dismay. When had their boss ever cared about the trifles of his subordinate, like being hungry?

Especially for a girl… who had just reported for duty today.

He caught up with Wilfred in several steps.

“Check the surveillance videos.” Wilfred told Kevin calmly.

Kevin replied and did it immediately.
