A Helplessly Weak, Big Ginger Cat

Chapter 6: Lang Shiyi

We’ve got a huge problem!

Dai Zu wasn’t sure whether he should run away first or not. After all, he had come over with the intention of forming a partnership—but he and Yan Leyang hadn’t confirmed their partnership yet.

Moreover, Dai Zu didn’t actually have to collaborate with Yan Leyang, but he wasn’t sure how long he would have to wait until he met another special case like Yan Leyang—or whether he would or would not be killed by the others in the prison before meeting another special case.　

He could run away now, but what if Yan Leyang was able to survive from this encounter? Then he would stand no chance of forming a collaboration with him in the future. Honestly speaking 1, no one would be able to accept someone who had fled and abandoned them before as their companion. 

As the two black bears edged closer, Dai Zu took a step backward as olive-green scales appeared at the corner of his eyes. 

Is he going to fight or flee? Dai Zu subconsciously wanted to see how Yan Leyang would react. 

Yet, as soon as he had turned his head, he was staggered by the sound of a roar. It wasn’t a cat’s tiny meow, but a legitimate roar.

His voice was very deep and  similar to the sounds of a mecha malfunctioning.  When Dai Zu heard this voice and made eye contact with Yan Leyang’s green eyes, he felt goosebumps erupt across his skin.

It felt as though he was being targeted by some incredible being. 

And then, Dai Zu’s arm was grabbed by Yan Leyang and he was thrown out. As he flew through the air, Dai Zu only had time to ponder one question… Why was he in the air again? And how on earth did Yan Leyang’s arm manage to lift him up and throw him out?

“Holy shit!” The black bear with the larger build was still somewhat baffled as he directly faced Yan Leyang who was charging towards him; nevertheless, he quickly gained his bearings and elongated his claws to attack. However, Yan Leyang who was running towards him suddenly made a quick turn towards the right.

The black bear thought that he was feinting, so it gave chase. Just as it was about to attack, Yan Leyang jumped.

Yan Leyang jumped…. he jumped pretty fking high.

The black bear had only been able to look up. It was at this time that it finally realized–at that instant when it had caught up to Yan Leyang, although the black bear that had been lying in ambush with him also came along, they had gotten separated with some distance between them.

Yan Leyang was ensuring that he would only be up against one rival within a certain time period.　

His blonde hair was particularly dazzling in the sunlight. Yan Leyang hadn’t completed his transformation into a beast. If his beast form were to really come out, then it would be quite hard to explain. In the final analysis, even if he was a variant of the cat race, he couldn’t be a variant with such a huge build.

And the black bear was only able to think of one question as Yan Leyang’s fist fell on his head.

He can run so fast, and immediately turn and jump. It doesn’t look like it’s a habitual action, how terrifying is this guy’s strength?

Unable to think of an answer, he fell onto the ground.

Yan Leyang landed and quickly turned to look at the other black bear as he lowered his body and let out a low, menacing growl.

　　【Frankly speaking, when he jump up and looked at the black bear coldly, he looked so fucking badass. 2】

　　【No, this control, this power, no matter how you look at it, there’s something wrong!】

　　【The sun was very bright earlier, I clearly saw that his pupils have always been round 3. He doesn’t look like he’s from the cat clan.】

　　【This roar! Fuck! I’m getting goosebumps! How terrifying!】

　　【It must be a beast! This voice is even more terrifying than a bear or a wolf. Ahhhh!!】

　　【So, I’m going to fucking ask again: how did he fail his assassination? Who can tell me?】

　　【I’m dead! I was just scared into my beast form and ripped my clothes apart.】

　　【How the heck did he get captured by the cat clan? Didn’t your report say that the security guards held him down?】

　　【I have reason to suspect that this is a war machine that was trained by the cat clan, and attacked the crown prince after losing control. 】

Not only was the discussion heated without any signs of subsiding, but the one bear and one snake in front of Yan Leyang were both stunned and frightened after witnessing Yan Leyang’s state.

In such a short amount of time, he was able to pull the two black bears’ away from each other, before knocking out one rival and turning to threaten the other in the span of 10 seconds.

Where exactly had this freak come from!!

“I don’t want to attack you guys.”  After making sure that the second black bear and that anaconda would not attack rashly, Yan Leyang relaxed a little, “I’m just a cultural worker and don’t like fighting.”

The opposite side did not make any noise, and just continued to look at him quietly. Yan Leyang slowly walked backwards to the left. His gaze remained fixed on the bear and snake: “I just wanted to take a bath. You guys are the ones who interrupted me.”

“You like to bathe?” The anaconda suddenly asked the question. As he asked, he was smiling and his tail twisted behind him. He looked quite shy, “I like clean partners. I was worried about it before.”  4

He smiled awkwardly, showing his big white teeth.　

“When did I say what I wanted to bathe with….” Before Yan Leyang could finish his sentence, a sudden swish sound came and a big stone hit the black bear’s head. Luckily, it didn’t kill the bear. 

Fortunately, the physical qualities of all the races had been enhanced in this novel and the big black bear had only fainted.

“Bruh, hurry up and run!” Dai Zu ran out from the brushes beside him, “With those two unconscious, that snake won’t dare to chase us.”

“Oho!” Yan Leyang immediately ran off with Dai Zu: “Hey, you ain’t bad, brother.”

Meanwhile, as the friendship between Yan Leyang and Dai Zu was established, the cat royal family was trying to find out the source of Yan Leyang’s strange power.

At the same time, Yan Leyang was unaware that, because of his various performances, the crown prince had swiftly attacked the protagonist. 

　　

“Think of a way to throw Lang Shiyi 5 into the same gathering area as Yan Leyang, the closer he is to Yan Leyang, the better.” The crown prince ordered his subordinate. “ I need to know what Yan Leyang’s limit is.”

“Your majesty, do you [formal] mean….?” The one half kneeling before him was a calico cat, and a rare calico cat at that; it was one that did not have the ability to give birth. 6

“When the time comes, I will try to get him out of ‘Twilight’.” The crown prince said this in a rather dull tone, “At that time, I will personally go over to do this task.”

“But your majesty, he might harm you[formal].” The calico became anxious. 　　

“This is not an issue.” The crown prince laced his fingers together before resting his chin atop his hands. 7

“His power is important to us.”

He had investigated Yan Leyang thoroughly and discovered that he had never exposed his real strength up till now. Of course, maybe it was because there was no need for martial prowess in this interstellar era; it was too weak. 　

Moreover, after conducting several inspections, he was quite certain that Yan Leyang’s race hadn’t been forged. His past records had been covered up, but Yan Leyang did not belong to any organization.

He had tried to assassinate himself because of his parents. His parents had died in the midst of a dispute. In a nutshell, it was due to the cowardice and incompetence of today’s royal family.

Yan Leyang was a firm anti-royalist, but if Yan Leyang really wanted to kill him, then he should have been able to succeed with strength like his, so Yan Leyang must not have been that firm.　

And the cat clan needed Yan Leyang’s strength. Their clan was too weak. They were much worse than other carnivorous races when it came to technology and physical constitution.　

Now entering the interstellar era, the value of their personal combat value was not that important, but the weak cat clan had been identified by the other clans as a target that was easy to bully.

He needed a change, and with Yan Leyang’s physical quality, he should have the ability to control a complex mecha. No matter what, he wanted this person to live.

The cat clan was in dire need of such strength. They had to get genetic samples from him. The crown prince couldn’t put all of his weight on Yan Leyang.

He needed more than one “Yan Leyang.” 8 

It would be best if Yan Leyang was willing to cooperate. If not… If not, it could only be enforced.

“When you throw Lang Shiyi in, remember to limit his activities so that he won’t attack directly.” The crown prince reminded him repeatedly. It wouldn’t be that easy to catch Lang Shiyi. This guy had unfathomable strength and he was an eccentric character.

He felt that Lang Shiyi wouldn’t be angry at all. Rather, he wouldn’t care about their actions all that much even if they were to throw him into Twilight..

Recalling those dark black eyes, the crown prince felt that he could not see through Lang Shiyi. He had no idea what this guy wanted even though they had cooperated for a long time. He was a very dangerous guy.

Two days later, Yan Leyang and Dai Zu found an opportunity to give the anaconda a taste of his own medicine. 9  He was caught and beaten up, but even after getting knocked out, the guy still had a strange smile on his face.

It was confirmed; he was a pure pervert.  10

And on the way back, Yan Leyang’s gaze was lured by a giant black dog laying on the side of the road.

The dog laying on the side noticed Yan Leyang’s gaze and raised his eyes, glancing over at him. At the same time, there was a ‘click’ sound, and the muzzle restraining the big black dog’s snout came loose.　　

A newcomer?　　

Yan Leyang tilted his head, freezing at the sight of the blue necklace on the dog’s collarbone.　　

FK?! Male lead?! Proud heavenly dragon11? Lang Shiyi? 

There was no mistake about it. This necklace was the exact replica of the one they had made in the drama set. The one at their set was the draft created by someone that the original author had personally searched for.

He’s here so early? This… timing isn’t right.

“Dai Zu, what’s today’s date?” Yan Leyang asked the person beside him.

“June 11th, what’s wrong?”

Wasn’t the male lead supposed to get here at the beginning of July? What went wrong?

Yan Leyang noticed Lang Shiyi, and Lang Shiyi naturally noticed Yan Leyang as well.

Yan Leyang had once tried to assassinate the crown prince, and even tried to get Lang Shiyi to join him. He’d even tried to sell himself—after all, Yan Leyang’s appearance was quite astonishing—it was just that Lang Shiyi hadn’t been interested.

It was a hassle that he had met Yan Leyang here, but fortunately, Yan Leyang had never seen his beast form, so he should be able to fool the guy.

“Lang Shiyi?” Yan Leyang walked over.

Lang Shiyi: ……

I was caught? Why!? Tch, how troublesome. I should just get rid of this guy first….”

“A’ yang!” before Lang Shiyi could make a move, the anaconda—whose white fur had been stained completely black12 hurtled out of nowhere with his arms wide open, wanting to give Yan Leyang a hug.

And Yan Leyang went behind the anaconda in a quick flash, grabbing his tail and tying it into two knots before throwing him far away.  13

He disappeared just as abruptly as he had appeared.

By the time Yan Leyang turned his head, he noticed the big black doggo, oh wait no, Lang Shiyi was still laying there obediently, saluting him with his gaze.

Yan Leyang still hadn’t forgotten that he had to hug the protagonist’s thigh if he wanted to leave this place. Immediately, the two brothers picked up Lang Shiyi’s forelimbs: “Why did you come in as well? What a coincidence. Are you hungry?”

Lang Shiyi was forced to stand on two hind legs. Not just that, Yan Leyang even dare to pry his mouth open with his hands.

‘Growl.’ Lang Shiyi wanted to intimidate them, but Yan Leyang interrupted him: “Don’t be shy, there’s nothing to be embarrassed about.”

“Even if our relationship outside was bad, we are still considered half-acquaintances since you’ve come here. If we can help each other, just help each other more.”

The words fell, and he pried Lang Shiyi’s mouth open.

As Yan Leyang stuffed the upper part of a leg of pork into Lang Shiyi’s mouth, he was still thinking that it was unfortunate that there was no system or anything of the sort. Otherwise, at this time, he would have been able to hear the voice saying ‘favorability going up’.

And the immobile Lang Shiyi—after struggling for a long time and determining that he couldn’t get away—was forced to admit this reality : He had been seized by Yan Leyang.

Basically to use an opponent’s own methods back on the opponent to get revenge. Kame: An M?- 龙傲天 Lóng ào tiān: Literally ‘ Dragon proud sky’, an internet term often used to satirize characters in novels, comics or animations who just appeared very strong, do things without common sense, no brain, but can easily kill a powerful enemy characters.Raws: 一只浑身黑不溜秋，顶着白毛的森蚺….浑身黑不溜秋= basically whole body is dark/black，顶着=have 白毛white fur/hair on top的森蚺anaconda.  Kame: like this ish except tail is knotted and thrown out.
