A Misunderstood Mentor

Fifty-one, the party where the story begins.

Rick doesn't talk.

The man known as the shield of silence stands before me, silently.

I was unconsciously trying not to think that the mastermind was Rick.

He is the Knight Commander of the Kingdom of Lucia and also has connections with officials from various countries.

More importantly, the Takumi point system has an iron wall guard that won't let you near me unless you pay the point.

Was Rick's shielding influenced by feeling protected by something I missed somewhere?

"What's going on, Rick?

……

Again, Rick doesn't answer.

'Dawu Guild, no, you've been planning this for a long time. Intimate and magnificent plan. I'm sure he's using Takumi and Alice to plan something.'

Reminds me of Sasha's words.

Since when on earth has Rick worked out this plan?

And what the hell is its purpose?

I remember the day I met Rick when I was an adventurer.

Oh, yeah.

At first, Rick was obviously crazy the first time he saw me.

Rick, calm and settled at all times, was clearly upset at that time.

"Okay. I'll take these three."

It was after Nurhachi had deposited the three from the queen and left the castle.

Rick was just looking at me silently as Sasha and Bats introduced themselves at the Castle Town Tavern.

"Rick, look, it's your turn to introduce yourself."

"... oh well"

My hand holding a glass containing ale was shaking a little.

Am I nervous in front of the Great Sage?

"It's Rick. I'm the Knight Commander of the Kingdom of Lucia."

If you bow lightly, you'll see me again.

Can't you believe I'm at the Great Sage's party at too low a level?

Sure, my powers are low jumping through this member.

No, I'm just one of the lowest f-ranks in the guild to be exact, so I'm low on the cut out of the whole adventurer...

"I'm Takumi. I'm still running out now (Rookie), but I'm going to be a fine adventurer one day"

Still, I have to work hard as a senior at the party.

I'm a party member that Nurhachi assembled to protect me, but I couldn't go on forever.

"Nice to meet you. I'll take care of the support. I'll heal you a lot."

"As long as I get the money, I have no complaints. I have no choice but to help you."

Rick muttered in a small voice as Sasha and Bats encouraged him.

"One day, a fine adventurer..."

Rick's first impression was that he was some sort of behaving suspiciously dark guy.

Heading out of the tavern was a weapons store secluded in the corner of the castle town.

"Gear everyone up here. Find something that suits you."

Bats was the one who was most pleased with Nurhachi's words.

Though freed from the chains that were restrained, his upper body is naked, and his lower body is just wearing trousers like a worn rag, not wearing loco gear.

"Is there no price limit? You can buy as much as you want?

"Oh, I don't mind. However, if I make money as an adventurer, I get it back. Don't take any special interest."

Bats turned out to be an obviously disappointing face.

"Shit, Sequoia, Big Sage"

A bat that bumps, but equips you with the minimum amount of gear you need.

"I guess I'll look for a new wand and some clothes to change, too. What do you do with Takumi?

"Oh, yeah, I don't really need it."

I can't hide my upset from Sasha, who speaks to me casually.

Age equals Sasha's smile dazzled me a little too much for my history without her.

"Really? That dagger, is it a lot of boredom? Are you all right?

"Yeah, I'll grind it later. I've been using it since I was a little girl, so I'm familiar with it."

A dagger small enough to be called a knife was something I bought myself when I was determined to be an adventurer.

I've grinded it back and used it dearly many times, but maybe it's time to get to the limit.

"Takumi, hold this for a second"

While I was talking to Sasha, Nurbee suddenly gave me something.

Zushiri and heavy. That's a pretty big sword, unsupported, and almost dropped on the floor anyway.

"Hey, what is it? Nurbee, this is so heavy."

"Oh, I picked the biggest sword in the store. You should have a little muscle strength just to have it."

"Uh, eh. I don't really need it. Me, you gonna pay for this?

"No, that was chosen by Nurbee, and I'll give him a present. Work it out properly."

That's what Nurbee says and walks away with a little light.

He clung to the null bee because of the noise that the bats were falling apart, and he was bummed.

If you wave a big sword in a test room set up at a weapons store, your body flows and becomes a yota after losing its weight.

Out of the way, I got my butt cake, but I didn't let go of the sword that Nurubee gave me, and I held it tight.

"Hey, Nurbee, can this make me stronger?

"Ugh, um. I'm sure you'll be strong."

Nurubee's lips are pulling.

Apparently, he's desperately laughing.

"Really?"

"Ho, it's true."

Null bees don't look at me.

With everyone buying their own new gear, only one, Rick, tried to buy nothing.

He's wrapped his whole body in black armor and has even more black shields on his hips.

But I wasn't wearing anything like a weapon there.

"Rick, don't you have a sword?

When I asked him that, Rick stared at me for a while, still a little silent again.

What is it?

I feel like I've been observed ever since we met.

Is it too unusual and despised to wave the Great Sword?

"... oh, I don't have a sword"

After all I said, Rick never opened his mouth again.

It will be a long time before we know why.

It was when that big incident happened.
