Chapter 60: Book 3 Prologue - A New Shift of Events

An Adventurer was standing in the [Room of Prayer] awaiting for his Status Assessment.

Since it’s been a while since his last assessment, he waits excitedly for the results.

(I wonder if my Level went up…!)

On the Holy Platform, the paper laid upon it has letters appearing on it now.

He casually picks up the paper and checks his Status results.

“Yes! My Level went up by 1!!”

His recent efforts paid off as his Level was now higher.

He grips his fist tightly in celebration.

He was delighted to see his new Level, but when he looked down at his Skill, he saw something else there.

“..........hmmmm?? Wait, what's this?”

On the man’s Status, new words he never saw before appeared.

“IーIt’s a new Status Section?!?!”

With the appearance of a brand new section, all the Adventurers of Kronos were abuzz with interest.

Eliz: “Mr. Yuto, good morning, yes.”

Yuto: “Good morning, Eliz.”

Dannan: “Hey, Yuto.”

Yuto: “Good morning, Mr. Dannan.”

Early in the morning, Yuto met with his Party members - Eliz and Dannan.

Dannan, the Scout, officially joined Yuto’s party after Tokmu’s full recovery was confirmed.

From Yuto’s perspective, he had no doubts that Dannan was an extremely skilled Scout.

And Dannan also has a good relationship with Eliz.

He has not belittled or criticized Eliz’ age or physical stature.

Having someone like that join his Party officiallyーーhaving someone like that CHOOSE to join his Party meant so much to Yuto.

Walking now towards the Temple, they weave through the group of Adventurers.

Today, Yuto’s plan is to clear up to the 20th Floor of the Base Dungeon.

Yuto: “There seems to be more people than usual….”

In the Temple Square, there were many Adventurers already gathered here.

But something was different today.

Normally, there would be many Adventurers raising their voices and calling out for new recruits into their party.

But very few were scouting for new members today.

Yuto: “.......hm? Oh, is that a line over there?”

As he observed the Adventurers, Yuto realized that many of them were standing in line.

And to his surprise, the line was coming out from the Temple and trailed all the way out into the Square.

Yuto: “This line...it’s stretching all the way from the Temple. Did something happen?”

Dannan: “Yuto, you didn’t know? Apparently, there was a shift in how your Status was displayed.”

Yuto: “What? Really?”

Eliz: “Yes, yes. That’s all everyone’s been talking about this morning.”

Yuto’s eyes widened with Dannan and Eliz’ words.

This was the first time he’s ever heard of any changes seen to the Status Display.

Yuto: “I see….so that’s why…”

Eliz: “You are not that surprised, yes?”

Yuto: “No, I am.”

Yuto never imagined that the Status Display would change like that.

But now that he has encountered his Skill Board, there's a bit of him saying, “Well, I guess things like that can happen,” and was able to accept it more readily than others.

And before that, he learned that his assessed Status displayed information different from his Skill Board.

From Yuto’s thoughts, he believed in the accuracy of the Status on his Skill Board.

So in Yuto’s mind, he was thinking, “I wonder if the information on the assessment is more accurate now?” but that’s about it.

Yuto: “Then is this line going all the way down to the [Room of Prayer]?”

Dannan: “Most likely.”

Yuto: “Wow〜, and does anyone know what changed on the Status Display?”

Dannan: “Apparently, there was a [Occupation] classification section added to your Status.”

Yuto: “[Occupation]?”

Yuto tilts his head at the information and looks at the line once again.

Yuto’s current occupation is being an Adventurer.

Even if that is displayed on the Status, would that really cause such a fuss where people would want to stand in line to see?

Dannan: “Yeah, apparently, the [Occupation] will affect your Status slightly. That’s why people have gathered from very early in the morning to stand in line.”

Yuto: “Affects your status…..huh….”

As he listened to Dannan, Yuto pulled up his Skill Board.

Before today, there was nothing else near Level, but now there was a new [Occupation] section.

As of right now, Yuto has no Occupation specified for himーーhe is currently [jobless] or in short, [unemployed]...

Realizing this, Yuto can’t help but feel a certain level of disappointment mixed in with shame and sprinkled with embarrassment.

Yuto: (MーMaybe if I tap on it, I can select my [Occupation]?!)

He tries tapping on it several times, but nothing happens.

Eliz: “Mr. Yuto, is something the matter, yes?”

Yuto: “Huh? Oh, uh… I was wondering how long this [Occupation] section had been around…”

Eliz: “I believe it was first reported very early in the morning at the first assessment, yes.”

Yuto: “Hmmm…”

If what Eliz says is true, then that means the Skill Board and Status are linked somehow.

As Yuto ponders about the connection, Dannan hits his palm with a fist with a, “Oh yeah! That reminds me!”

Dannan: “I almost forgot until you mentioned about this morning. It’s just a rumor right now, but the pond next to the Temple has apparently dried up.”

Yuto: “The pond.....? Ohhhh, yes, I remember now.”

Hearing about the pond immediately brought memories back of when Yuto and Thames had a Duel.

It was not long ago that Yuto and Thames faced off in a duel.

The duel was held next to the Temple where there was an open field.

And next to that field was a pond.

Yuto: “You’re talking about the pond that was famous for flooding every time it rains, correct?”

Dannan: “Yeah. That pond dried up. But what’s important is what came afterwardsーー”

Dannan brings his face closer to Yuto’s.

Dannan: “Apparently, they found a hole after the pond dried up, and when they went down it, they found a new Door.”

Yuto: “A new door?!”
