Chapter 73: Follow-up Investigation

Yuto furrows his brows and rubs his eyes.

Yuto: “......is that…..is that an exit over there?”

Dannan: “Oh?”

Right above the plains, there was an exit door that was wide open.

It was as if someone took some scissors, cut out the space, and replaced it with a door.

Yuto and his Party carefully approach the apparent exit making sure to check their surroundings.

As they made it through the exit, they returned in front of the door of the Dungeon.

Though there were some uncertain moments, but they cleared the Dungeon, and all three were able to return in one piece. The Party’s safety was what gave Yuto the most relief.

As they walked out of the cave, Yuto meets eyes with the Guild Worker who had a magnificent business smile over her face.

The Guild Worker gently gestured with her hand without saying a word to ask Yuto to come to where she is.

Yuto did not have the nerves of steel to ignore such a request.

Following the invitation, he approached the Guild Worker’s counter.

At the same time, he heard the other merchant stands spat on the ground in frustration in unison.

If Yuto didn’t head to the Provisional Guild Counter, his Party would have been swarmed by the merchants like bees to honey.

“Congratulations on clearing the Dungeon! Here you are, sir! You can submit your items here!”

Yuto: “YーYes…”

The Guild Worker leaned forward with eager enthusiasm, Yuto placed the Monster Stones into the basket used for trading-in items.

The Guild Workers eyes were scary. They were filled with desperation that probably stemmed from receiving direct orders to buy the Monster Stones from the Adventurers at all costs.

“Then please turn in your Guild Tags for processing.”

The receptionist took the Monster Stones and tags, and handed it to the assessor.

“While we complete the assessment, there were 2 or 3 questions we would like to ask. Would that be okay?” Yuto: “Oh, uh, yes.” “Then could you briefly explain what happened in the Dungeon chronologically?” It was when Yuto was about to answer the receptionist…

Dannan put a hand on Yuto’s shoulder.

Dannan: “Wait please. Is that an official order from the Guild?”

“Ohh….ummmm….that’s….” Dannan: “We just put our lives on the line fighting inside that Dungeon. If you want information about the Insta-[α] Dungeon, then you need to be willing to compensate us. Isn’t that right?” Yuto and his Party cleared a brand new Dungeon with very little information.

They put their lives at risk and stuck their heads into unknown territory.

To demand payment or compensation for information is a right every Adventurer has.

The receptionist looked a little disgruntled after Dannan’s words.

“.........ergh, I understand. Then we will compare the information to the data we have on hand, and we will assess the importance and value of the data collected. We can compensate in gards or with Guild Contribution Points. Will that be suitable?”

Dannan: “ーーso that’s apparently the deal. What do you think, Leader?”

Dannan winks at Yuto.

He stepped in to help where Yuto was lacking, and at the end, brought the issue back to Yuto to make the final decision.

It was a fine play by Dannan.

Thankful for Dannan’s assistance, Yuto nods at the receptionist.

Yuto: “Please proceed with those terms.” “Then we shall begin the information exchange.”

Yuto: “So when we first entered the Dungeonーー”

Yuto turns to the receptionist and starts recounting the story.

It’s information that will affect the lives of other Adventurers.

With an intense expression and focus, the receptionist listened carefully to Yuto’s every word.

“ーーand, the Boss was a Dead Grizzly, but I believe that it had a strength and ability that went above a C-Rank threshold.” “......could you clarify or expand upon that point?” “I don’t know if its fundamental Level was higher than others or it could have had a Skill that normal Dead Grizzly’s do not carry.”

The Dead Grizzly dodged 3 of Yuto’s strongest attacks.

Yuto’s Sword Skill is currently B-Rank. It was more than odd that a C-Rank Monster was able to not only dodge it once, but 3 times.

Thus, Yuto suspected that the Boss may have had some sort of evasion Skill.

A standard Dead Grizzly would not have such a Skill.

But without an evasion Skill, it would be close to impossible to dodge Yuto’s attacks 3 times.

Hence, thinking that just maybe that Boss was special and had an evasion Skill is not a far fetched idea.

“......I see. Thank you so much for sharing your information with us. As far as the details of the information goes, this aligns with the information brought back from the very first party. I cannot compensate you with gards for this, but we will compensate you with Guild Contribution Points for reaffirming the data we have.” Yuto: “Oh~ nice.”

“And lastly, the information about Boss Monsters possessing additional Skills was a new discovery. If it’s this information, we can compensate you with gards as we sell the information. Would you like to proceed?” Yuto: “Ummm…..” Yuto did not expect a price tag to be placed on his theory.

Yuto blinks several times and looks at his Party members.

Dannan: “It’s your idea Yuto, so you can decide.” Eliz: “I’m of the same opinion, yes.” With input from both, Yuto makes a decision.

Yuto: “Then please publish that information for free.”

“Oh, is that okay with you?” Yuto: “Yes. It’s just my speculation, and I rather someone used it wisely to avoid getting hurt than trying to put a price tag on such a thing. Those are my thoughts.” Dannan: “You’re too soft…..” Eliz: “Yes, yes. But that’s how Mr. Yuto is, yes.” Dannan: “Yup.”

Dannan and Eliz slightly strain a smile at Yuto’s decision.

It was an opportunity to make some money, but Yuto released it without any hesitation to the other Adventurers.

It’s not that Yuto doesn’t want money.

In fact, he could desperately use money right now.

But if Yuto places a price on the information, the less wealthy Adventurers will not receive this data.

The poorer Adventurers will have to charge into the Dungeon with less information and could face serious injuries.

That is what Yuto wants to avoid the most.

“Understood. If that is the case, I will also add Guild Contribution Points for this information as well.” Yuto: “Thank you so much.” With the information fully delivered, the Monster Stone assessment completed.

All the Monster Stones came to 78,000 gards.

They would not have the money at the Provisional Counter.

Instead, Yuto received a receipt instead of the money.

If he takes this receipt to the Temple’s Reception Area, he would be able to exchange it for money.

“Thank you so much for the information, Mr. Yuto. Please come by again.” Yuto: “Yes, thank you so much.”

Yuto felt that the Guild Receptionist’s attitude towards him was several ranks higher than when he first met her.

She even waved a hand as Yuto left.

Yuto: (Was it because I was willing to release the information for free?)

Yuto waves his hand back at the receptionist, and next to him, Eliz had her cheeks puffed out.

Until they reached the Temple Reception Counter, Yuto received several slaps by her staff on the way there.
