“How is that possible? ” Liang Ran smiled helplessly. “As long as Mr. Ji doesn’t terminate the deal early, I won’t have such thoughts.”

As she spoke, she paused, carefully looked at Ji Xuan, and asked, “Mr. Ji has already lost interest in me?”

Ji Xuan replied flatly, “I can’t say for sure. Not yet, but perhaps tomorrow I’ll be fed up with you.”

Liang Ran frowned slightly and took out her phone. “Then maybe I shouldn’t be so certain and leave myself some room to maneuver.”

“Liang Ran.” Ji Xuan looked at her angrily.

Liang Ran smiled as she put back her phone. She looked at Ji Xuan and said, “Mr. Ji, are you interested in playing a game with me?”

“What game?” Ji Xuan raised an eyebrow.

Liang Ran walked toward Ji Xuan step by step and stood in front of the desk. She placed her hand on the desk and leaned over to look at Ji Xuan. “Whoever falls in love first loses the game.”

Ji Xuan raised his head and looked up at her. From this position, he looked like he was at a disadvantage, but he had a smile on his face. He stared straight into Liang Ran’s eyes as if he had already seen through her calm eyes and heart.

“Liang Ran, have you thought about why you proposed this game?” he said in a tone of ease.

Liang Ran’s eyes flickered, and after a while, she lowered her eyes. “I just said it casually.”

Ji Xuan smiled slightly, different from the usual smile on his face. Together with his beautiful appearance, he became a bit more gentle. However, this smile made Liang Ran more uneasy for some reason.

“Liang Ran, control your feelings.” Ji Xuan said lightly.

Liang Ran pursed her lips and straightened her back. She smiled lightly and said, “Of course. Don’t worry, Mr. Ji. I’m such a superficial person. There is no sincerity in my heart. I can only see money and power.”

Ji Xuan looked at her for a moment before redirecting his gaze to the computer screen. “It’s better that way.”

After that, the two of them did not speak. Liang Ran sat on the sofa and played with her phone while Ji Xuan typed on the computer. Ten minutes later, Ji Xuan called Guan Shen in.

“I’ve changed the figure of this claim letter. Go and print two copies.”

Guan Shen nodded and went out to print. A few minutes later, he came back with two documents and said with a strange expression, “Mr. Ji, I think the original compensation is already very high. If we add another 80 million, we don’t have much chance of winning.”

“You don’t have to worry about that.” Ji Xuan said lightly.

Liang Ran put down her phone and walked over to Guan Shen, asking, “Is this the claim letter for the Huayue incident?”

Guan Shen didn’t answer but looked at Ji Xuan.

Ji Xuan raised his chin and said, “Show her.”

Guan Shen handed a copy to Liang Ran.

Liang Ran took it. She was most interested in the compensation amount. When she saw the figure in the amount column, she was so shocked that she could barely close her mouth.

“Two hundred million?”

Ji Xuan nodded and said lightly, “Originally, it was set at 120 million, but I changed my mind.”

Liang Ran opened her mouth but couldn’t say anything.

Half an hour later, Fan Ze and his assistant arrived at Ji Corporation.

“Mr. Ji, it’s an honor to meet you.” Fan Ze reached out to shake Ji Xuan’s hand.

“Mr. Fan.” Ji Xuan shook his hand and spoke in an indifferent tone.

“Ranran, you’ve worked hard.” Fan Ze smiled as he looked at Liang Ran. His tone became more gentle and intimate.

Liang Ran smiled and called him “Brother Fan” without saying anything else.

Ji Xuan’s gaze circled between the two of them and said with a faint smile, “This time, Liang Ran really worked hard and put in a lot of effort.”

It was a very normal sentence, but it sounded inexplicably strange.

Fan Ze frowned slightly. A moment later, he smiled and said, “Ranran is getting bolder. I hope she didn’t cause any trouble for Mr. Ji.”

The implication was clear, as if Fan Ze and Liang Ran were on the same side and Ji Xuan was the outsider. Ji Xuan’s expression turned cold.

Seeing his expression, Liang Ran felt helpless and said, “I’m not a troublemaker. How could I cause trouble for Mr. Ji?”

Ji Xuan gave her a meaningful look that was clear and easy to understand. He looked like saying, “Are you sure you didn’t?”

Liang Ran was speechless.

She wouldn’t stir up trouble if nothing provoked her.

Fan Ze looked at Liang Ran, who looked embarrassed, and then turned to Ji Xuan. “Let’s talk about the compensation for this incident first.”

Guan Shen, who was behind Ji Xuan, took two steps forward and handed the claim letter that he had just printed to Fan Ze. “The deceased’s family has given Mr. Ji full authority to handle this matter. This is the claim letter we have drafted after careful consideration.”
