Chapter 11: Don’t disgust me with this crap

══════════════════

Xu Zhun hung his head and cowered, like a small child who had made a mistake.

He Chengyang became angry when he saw his wimpy look of obedience, “There are only four dishes in this meal, and you are still trying to fool me with this kind of crap. Is this the kind of sincerity you show while asking me to negotiate a contract? Do you think I’m so easy going that you’re going to get rid of me like this?”

“The groceries were all very fresh. There wasn’t a single rotten leaf on the greens, the prawns were kept alive, and the chicken wings were not removed from a live chicken, but they were really fresh. The corn was cooked and then I peeled it off one by one. Try it …… It tastes great ……”

One could tell how delicious it was just from the smell of it, and Xu Zhun hadn’t even had such a good meal in two months.

“Have a taste! It really smells good ……”

He Chengyang stared at Xu Zhun’s slightly moving lips with a patronizing expression and waved his hand in annoyance, “Go cook the noodles!”

Xu Zhun returned to the kitchen and started cooking the noodles.

By the time he returned to the dining room with the noodle bowl, he found that all four plates were empty.

He Chengyang had a pile of shrimp skin and chicken bones next to him.

Xu Zhun’s heart was slightly touched and he said with a happy smile, “Isn’t it delicious?”

A trace of uncertainty flashed under He Chengyang’s eyes, “I’m just hungry! Didn’t you even look at the time? Let me have my meal now.”

Having said that, he nevertheless still licked the vegetable sauce off the corner of his mouth.

Xu Zhun may not have been that great of a person, but he was certainly a great cook and had a good face.

He Chengyang coughed out lightly, ” Are the noodles done?”

Xu Zhun placed the bowl in front of him and cleared the items on the table.

The red tomato soup was filled with noodles, vegetables and eggs. A few chopped spring onions floated on top and just looking at it made people’s appetite grow.

He Chengyang picked up his chopsticks, took a few noodles and put them into his mouth.

Xu Zhun stared unblinkingly at He Chengyang, and was particularly happy to see that he had not been critical of the noodles he had made.

Halfway through his bowl, He Chengyang noticed that Xu Zhun hadn’t eaten. He raised his eyebrows and asked in a deep voice, “Why aren’t you eating?”

“I ……” Xu Zhun averted his eyes and said sheepishly, “I’ve already eaten.”

“You did?” He Chengyang snorted coldly, “You ate first without waiting for me to return? Do you even know what respect means? Or did you just secretly keep something good to eat it yourself?

“No!” Xu Zhun scrambled to explain, “I just ate some random noodles.”

It had been leftovers from the very same morning.

Xu Zhun was afraid of spoiling and wasting the food, so when he returned in the evening he ate the leftover noodles from the morning.

He had not hidden anything whatsoever, and the only good things he had were given to He Chengyang.

Thinking about good things, Xu Zhun then realised that he hadn’t brought out the wine.

“Mr. He, there is red wine, do you want to try it?”

Xu Zhun brought out a glass, but He Chengyang didn’t even spar it a glance and snorted, “What kind of fine wine can you even have in your house?”

“It’s from my father’s collection, he said it’s a good bottle of wine.” Xu Zhun smiled shyly, “I don’t know anything about wine, so I don’t know if it’s good or not.”

He Chengyang said casually, “Bring it here then.”

As if encouraged, Xu Zhun immediately ran to bring out the wine.

He Chengyang gave it a glance and said mockingly, “How can this be considered good wine? It’s trash to wash your feet with! I thought you could come up with something good, but it’s indeed all the same crap!”

Xu Zhun’s cheeks burned hot, he bit his lips and gathered the courage to say, “You can try it, maybe it will taste good?”

“What do you mean? Think I don’t know anything about wine?”

He Chengyang waved his hand impatiently, “Take it away! Don’t disgust me with this shit.”

He subconsciously swung his hand, and hit Xu Zhun right in his own hand.

Xu Zhun’s fingers went slack and the bottle fell to the ground and shattered.

Red wine splashed everywhere, covering the floor with the scarlet liquid.

The glass shattered all over the floor just like Xu Zhun’s heart, both broken in pieces.

He offered He Chengyang what he thought was his best, but in his eyes it was nothing but trash.
