Early the next morning, Zhuang Yan woke up first.

Xie Ning was still immersed in his dream. Zhuang Yan looked at his sleeping face for a while, then carefully put his hand on his forehead and tested his temperature.

Zhuang Yan knew that Xie Ning was in poor health and was afraid of the cold. A slight change in temperature could easily make him catch a cold.

Last night Zhuang Yan was extremely patient and gentle. He made a lot of preparations for it, learned all kinds of knowledge, and even cleaned up afterward, but he also knew that Xie Ning was still prone to illness at this time.

Fortunately, Xie Ning was not hot.

Zhuang Yan raised his body and turned his head to look at Xie Ning.

He didn’t dare to move too much, because Xie Ning was half pillowed on his shoulder, sleeping soundly.

The quilt slipped slightly, revealing most of Xie Ning’s delicate neck, and his white skin that was dotted with a few hickeys, ones which were undoubtedly left by Zhuang Yan.

Zhuang Yan inevitably thought of last night’s Xie Ning, very shy, but also very well-behaved, letting him do whatever he wanted, and burying his head in the soft quilt when he couldn’t bear it as if it could cover his blushing face.

Fortunately, he had strong self-control and knew how to exercise restraint.

It was thankful that Zhuang Yan thought this way, otherwise, Xie Ning, who was as soft as a ball of cotton, would have already been tossed into who knows what.

After a while, the sun gradually broke free, and even through the thick curtains, light entered the bedroom.

Xie Ning moved uneasily in his arms twice. Zhuang Yan thought he was finally waking up, but after a closer look, he found out Xie Ning was still immersed in his dream. He said something intermittently. His voice was soft and fuzzy, Zhuang Yan lowered his head and listened closer.

He murmured, “…it hurts.”

Zhuang Yan was stunned for a moment and began to reflect on whether he had hurt him last night.

After a while, he watched Xie Ning roll over and huddle into his arms, hug his waist, and say, “Mom…I’ll be obedient.”

Zhuang Yan, who was called mother, couldn’t laugh or cry but was a little curious about what Xie Ning dreamed of.

“…It hurts.” Xie Ning frowned and his expression seemed to be that of pain. Although it was only for a moment, Zhuang Yan still saw it.

He patted Xie Ning’s back comfortably.

Xie Ning was quiet for a while, then began to talk in his sleep: “…I don’t want to go…Don’t send me…”

His eyelashes trembled twice and he woke up abruptly.

“It’s still early.” Zhuang Yan’s voice was close at hand, “Sleep for a bit more?”

Xie Ning was stunned as if still immersed in his dream, and blinked slowly.

“What time is it?” he asked in a low voice.

Zhuang Yan picked up his phone and glanced at it: “It’s not too late, just a little after 9 o’clock.”

Xie Ning paused for a few seconds, and when he woke up completely, the memory of last night also came to his mind.

He silently withdrew from Zhuang Yan’s arms, blushing to the tip of his ears.

Zhuang Yan looked at him and smiled: “What are you shy about at this time?”

Xie Ning dared not look at him, and hurriedly turned away: “It’s 9 o’clock, I- I need to get up to wash.”

He didn’t dare to stay in bed for too long. Although Zhuang Yan cleaned his body last night, changed the messy sheets, and made it so that he did not feel any discomfort when lying down. When sleeping on the same bed with Zhuang Yan, the scene of the two intertwining for the night appeared in his mind from time to time.

The shame of being taken care of until the end made him feel particularly embarrassed.

He turned over and got out of bed as if fleeing, and his legs softened inexplicably when he stepped on the ground. Zhuang Yan quickly reached out and grabbed his hand.

“What do you need to do that you’re in such a hurry.” Zhuang Yan was amused. “I’m not in a hurry.”

Knowing that Xie Ning was ashamed and annoyed at this time, Zhuang Yan didn’t make much trouble with him while washing, and the two quickly finished washing.

Xie Ning suddenly remembered something: “Yesterday…I didn’t go to see Grandpa, and I didn’t have time to talk to him…”

“Don’t worry, I already asked Uncle Zhong.” Zhuang Yan said, “He said that a lot of people came to visit yesterday afternoon. The old man was a bit tired and fell asleep early so you don’t have to go there.”

Zhuang Yan talked to him and showed him the text messages on his cell phone. Xie Ning was relieved when he saw that Uncle Zhong really said that.

“Did you have any dreams in the morning?” Zhuang Yan asked him suddenly.

Xie Ning was at a loss for a few seconds: “What?”

Zhuang Yan said again: “You kept crying for pain when you were talking in your sleep just now. Did I hurt you last night?”

Xie Ning shook his head: “…No.”

“That’s what I thought, my technique shouldn’t be so bad.” Zhuang Yan raised his eyebrows and asked, “What dream did you have then?”

Xie Ning was afraid that he would suddenly turn to ask him how he felt last night, whether he was comfortable or not, and whether he enjoyed it, so he quickly said, “I just… dreamed of what happened when I was young. At that time, I was still in the south. One summer vacation, my mother wanted to send me to summer camp. I cried and told her that I didn’t want to go, but I was still sent. Then I struggled and ran out to find my mother. I fell severely on the road and hit my knee on the slate floor. Both tears and blood fell.”

Zhuang Yan narrowed his eyes: “No wonder you were holding me but called mom.”

Then Zhuang Yan asked him in a low voice: “It must’ve been a painful fall, right?”

Xie Ning was stunned for a long time before shaking his head slowly: “It happened so long ago, whether it hurts or not, I can’t remember it now.”

Zhuang Yan wanted to say something else but there was a knock at the door. It was a waiter from Lan Zhai: “Sir, what you asked for has been delivered.”

“You lie down and rest for a while.” Zhuang Yan turned his head and said to him, “I’ll open the door.”

Xie Ning nodded, thinking Zhuang Yan had ordered breakfast and watched him walk out in the pajamas that Lan Zhai had prepared in the closet.

When Zhuang Yan came back, what he was carrying was not food, but a few paper bags. Xie Ning curiously asked, “What did you order?”

“Clothes.” Zhuang Yan opened the paper bag, looked at the size on it, and threw a few of them to Xie Ning. “Lan Zhai only gives pajamas and bathrobes. We can’t wear the clothes from yesterday. Do you want to keep wearing your pajamas when you go out?”

Xie Ning’s face was red again. He then took the paper bag and looked at it, and found that it was actually the latest model of a certain brand in the season.

Zhuang Yan said: “I told them the size. It should fit alright. You can try wearing it.”

Xie Ning couldn’t help being curious: “How do you know my size?”

“Why would I not know when I’ve touched and hugged you this much?” Zhuang Yan teased him, “What size do you have that I don’t know?”

Xie Ning stopped speaking immediately.

“I’ll go grab breakfast first.” Seeing that he was really embarrassed and turned his back even when he put on clothes, Zhuang Yan stopped playing hooligan and changed the subject, “What are your plans for this afternoon?”

Xie Ning hesitated: “…Go to the hospital to accompany Grandpa?”

“There’s no hurry, we can go together at night.” Zhuang Yan said, “If there is no other arrangement, accompany me to the airport in the afternoon?”

Xie Ning was taken aback for a moment, and lowered his head, not willingly answering: “…Um.”

Zhuang Yan knew that he was thinking of something wrong, so he pulled the man into his arms and kissed him: “What are you thinking? Do you think I’m leaving?”

Xie Ning hesitated: “You have been back for so long…”

Zhuang Yan blocked the rest of his words angrily, and after a thorough kiss, he said, “I didn’t even say I’ll be leaving. Are you in such a hurry to drive me away?”

Xie Ning obediently held him in his arms and shook his head.

“You have to be punished for thinking such madness,” Zhuang Yan said, “You will accompany me to pick up people in the afternoon.”

Xie Ning was scolded by him and dared not have other opinions, and just asked: “Who?”

“My parents.” Zhuang Yan said.

Xie Ning was stunned for a moment: “Uncle and aunt… are returning to China?”

Zhuang Yan: “Yeah.”

Xie Ning felt it was a little strange: “Did they not just go abroad for a long time? What happened?”

Both of Zhuang Yan’s parents’ careers were developed abroad. This is why Zhuang Yan chose to go abroad when he was in college. After graduation, he stayed abroad for several years. It stands to reason that if there were nothing important Zhuang Yan’s parents would not come back in such a hurry.

Zhuang Yan looked at him and said, “There is in fact something important for them to come back to deal with.”

Xie Ning nodded: “That’s what I thought.”

Zhuang Yan squeezed his face: “You’re not curious about what it is?”

Xie Ning asked fluently, “What is it?”

Zhuang Yan smiled and said, “You have agreed to my marriage proposal. Of course, they came back to discuss the wedding date.”

Xie Ning choked suddenly and coughed.

“Wh… what?”

Zhuang Yan looked at him and said, “We can’t have a hasty marriage. As the elders, they must come to discuss this matter with your family in person.”

Xie Ning stared at him blankly and said, “I…I’m not mentally prepared yet.”

Zhuang Yan pinched his nose with great care and said, “It’s okay, you can start preparing now.”

Xie Ning pursed his lips, he… couldn’t say a word to refuse.

Zhuang Yan saw him still stunned, so he lowered his head and smiled: “You should also start preparing your mouth.”

“You can’t call uncle and auntie, follow me and call them mom and dad later.”
