As I meditated in my room, my stomach rang.

Of course I couldn't eat dinner today.

In the past, however, it was not uncommon for a day when you could not eat a single meal rather than dinner.

Almark's troops were separated from the base and marched for only two days in muddy water.

But Almark thought the human body was lazy. I'm not used to the hard stuff, but my body adapts more and more to the easy stuff. Even today, I am eating properly in the morning and lunch. And yet, with just one meal out of dinner, I'm already hungry and I'm losing my focus.

I whisper in my heart that this is not going to be training. Sure, a magician can't use magic because he's hungry, so I won't be able to talk about it, but I want to do some high-quality training now.

Almark thought about getting Morgan to sell him some sweets. Every holiday, Morgan runs into the city, pays less and buys a lot of sweets. It's hard to say just give it away, but if you say you'll pay properly, you won't sell it.

It would be a waste of time to decide that. Good is quick. When Almark stood up with a penny coin, the door was knocked.

When I opened the door thinking that Morgan had just come to visit me, Wendy stood in front of it.

"Oh, Wendy?

Almark was surprised by unexpected visitors. Unlike the usual robe look, Almark was worn by Wendy, who was wearing loose clothes made of soft fabric, because it was just before bedtime, and he was troubled by the way he looked.

Whether or not you know how Almark feels, Wendy

"I heard you came home late with Lilty today... so I thought maybe you didn't have dinner. This is the only thing I have....."

As she said so, she gave me a cloth wrapped in something.

As Almark thanked him for it, he opened it gently and found a lot of small snacks in it.

"Eh, so much. I'm sorry."

"I bought too much the other day when I went to the city. I just thought I couldn't eat it all. If Almark eats me, I'll be saved."

Wendy says so and takes a little distance from Almark with a smile. I will not accept it even if I try to return it.

"If that's the case...."

and Almark received it. I also understood from Almark that perhaps buying too much was a lie to keep him from using it, but I couldn't refuse to let him tell me that.

"Thank you. Wendy always helps me."

"That's my dialog. Ah, this star-shaped one tastes good."

Wendy peeked into Almark's hand and pointed to one of the snacks.

"Sorry to interrupt your meditation. See you tomorrow."

And he went home. Just as she was dropping off until she turned the corner, Wendy turned around again as she turned the corner and waved a small hand to Almark, "Good luck!" He whispered to me.

After Wendy left, Almark, who closed the door, threw baked confectionery into his mouth. He thought that if he didn't leave three of these confections in his stomach, he would fall asleep. The door was knocked again.

Now it's Morgan, and it's the luxurious opposite of Morgan. It was Lilty this time.

Lilty was surprised at Almark's face.

"Thank you for today. I let you skip dinner, so this is it."

As he finally spoke with a small voice, he pushed the baked confectionery in the cloth bag into Almark's hand.

Before Almark tries to say anything,

"Because the star-shaped ones are delicious. Bye bye."

and left to escape.

Almark went back to his room and compared the two star-shaped baked confectioneries, thinking that he would not need Morgan's confectioneries to be sold for a while.
