After spending a few days back at the academy again, Almark and Morgan had to spend time in dormitories where there were still few people until the vacation was over.

On the first day I returned to the dorm, I spent a busy time writing back to letters from Nelson and Lilty, taking souvenirs with me to greet the dean (even though I was away), but from the next day, I had such a monotonous life that I wondered what it was like to live in that winter mansion.

However, even though life was the same, there was a change in the mood between the two.

Almark was originally meditating and reading during his vacation, but when he returned, he began to read more and more books with enthusiasm.

I also focused on meditation training more than ever to teach magic after my vacation.

What surprised me was that I started practicing magic with enthusiasm until Morgan.

"This time, I knew my magic wouldn't work if something happened."

That's what Morgan said, silently encouraging magic practice.

From Almark's amateur perspective, Morgan's magic has improved since that journey.

Such a thing happened one day.

After finishing breakfast as usual, Maia, the dorm keeper, suddenly stopped them as they tried to leave the cafeteria.

"You guys! It's you, the thin ones over there and the fat ones. Yes, you're the fat ones pointing at their faces. Come here a minute."

The two men lined up in front of the fearful Maia.

Maia is two or more minutes smaller than the two.

My chin is about to reach the floor because of my crooked hips.

"... I wonder what..."

"Cassis caught a summer cold."

Suddenly Maia said.

……

"Answer!!"

Maia yells.

Yes!

They respond in a hurry.

"You're in third grade, right?

……

"Answer!!"

Yes!

"Yes!

Maia sighs.

"Damn it, I don't know if I don't say either of these young things these days. Look, you're in the third grade of the top class in this dorm, so you don't have to tell me this. What should I do if Cassis catches a summer cold?"

Having heard that, Morgan finally realizes that Cassis is the name of an old man who manages the dorm's shared equipment and makes simple repairs to the dorm.

"Well, if Mr. Cassis catches a cold, um..."

Morgan starts to say that Almark hasn't arrived yet.

"Morgan, who's Mr. Cassis?"

That word touches Maia's scales.

"You take care of me every day and you don't even know my name! You've lived here for two and a half years! You ungrateful bastard!

Maia yells at me, and Almark

"No, I haven't."

That said, Morgan is controlling it by hand.

Morgan's eyes said Maia didn't understand why, but it wasn't magic or anything, and he told Almark.

"I don't know if you think Cassius is just a convenient cabin user, but that's a fine man. I work well without complaining. If I'm gone, this dorm won't be around."

Maia keeps talking to both of us.

"We all have to take care of Cassis so we don't have to leave. Can you let me work while I have a cold? Fortunately, because I am on vacation now, there are only nine students, including the students. You two can do it because it's just a tenth of what Cassis usually does. It's the responsibility of the top students. Normally, I'll pay you back for being ungrateful."

Though the logic seems to make sense, I don't think that's the way to put it.

When Almark tries to argue,

"I'll do it."

Morgan answers immediately.

Almark, let's do this.

"I don't mind, but Maia doesn't say that much."

"Maia, I'll do it!!"

Almark's dissatisfaction was wiped out by Morgan's loud voice.

I see. Well, then, please. Tomorrow, until Cassius gets better, come to me for work after breakfast. "

Maia said satisfactorily and pulled up.

Even though my hips are so bent, the pace of walking is terribly fast.

And suddenly, she stopped her feet and turned around.

"Oh, the railing on the stairs on the third floor is broken for today, so please fix it. Do you know that the tools are in the equipment room that Cassis always uses?

"I know!

When Morgan answered, Maia nodded and walked away.

"Morgan. Maia doesn't say that much. Why do you listen to me so quietly?"

When Almark gets stuck in Morgen, Morgen shakes his head.

"Thank you for taking care of Maia-san... I really got into trouble when I was in the first grade because I didn't know anything about it. Besides..."

Besides?

"This is a rumor."

Morgan hid his voice and told Almark.

"When I defy Maia, I get scared. They're trapped in the basement of this dorm."
