American fame and fortune

Chapter 319: Harvey's Wife

There was no one else in the room, and Harvey Weinstein sat watching TV for a while, and the entertainment channel was broadcasting the premiere of "The Departed".

Martin Davis led a cow onto the red carpet.

All the fans and reporters were shocked.

"It's interesting." Harvey has never seen such a premiere: "It's a talent to really ride a horse."

It's a pity that this person doesn't get along well with him, and recently caused Weinstein Pictures to lose a fortune.

Because of Heath Ledger, the filming of "I'm Not There" was delayed by nearly ten days compared to the normal plan, and the cost would increase for every day the crew was delayed.

There was a knock on the door, and Harvey knocked on the door, and Matt Damon entered the room.

"Shouldn't you be in Toronto for the film festival?" Harvey asked.

Matt Damon watched the premiere on TV and said: "The crew of The Departed Walker didn't pay much attention to me, and they didn't force me to participate in the promotion. I will come back to rest for two days and go to London later."

Harvey asked directly: "They don't get you an Oscar nomination?"

"The Best Supporting Actor nomination is for Martin Davis, so..." Matt Damon shrugged.

Harvey laughed: "Oscar Best Supporting Actor? Martin Davis has a lot of ideas." His smile deepened: "It's a good thing to have ideas."

Matt Damon said: "I heard he had a bad time with your crew in New York."

Harvey didn't seem too concerned: "Cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars."

Matt Damon seemed to be complimenting him: "Oscar is your special event."

Harvey thought of Pete, who had been complaining about Martin to him, and said: "Rose McGowan was a little noisy after filming "Planet Terror."

Matt Damon understood: "I'm going to warn her."

Harvey's cell phone rang, and his wife Georgina Chapman called, and he went to answer it: "Honey, is Toronto fun?"

Georgina said: "It's very interesting, don't you come over?"

Harvey said: "I have a lot of things here, so I won't go through it."

After making the phone call and chatting with Damon, Harvey left the hotel with him.

In the hotel lobby, seeing the two leaving, the three of News of the World immediately got together.

Lukaku said softly: "Harvey's long-term private room has been found, let's find a way next."

Courtois moved his neck and said, "Start from the hotel, first monitor the phone in the room."

Hazard reminded: "This is not New York, we are not on our own territory, we must be careful when doing things."

The three acted immediately.

Meanwhile, the Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto.

Martin finished a publicity interview and came back from outside. Scorsese was going to treat him tonight, so he didn't bother to go upstairs again, so he simply went to the rest area and found an empty space to sit down and wait.

At the next table on the left, sat a brown-haired woman. Because of her outstanding appearance, Martin took a second look.

The other party is about thirty years old, tall and tall, with a figure and temperament that resembles a model.

The man also turned to look at Martin.

The two discovered and knew each other at the same time.

Martin took the initiative to say hello: "Hello, Georgina."

Georgina and Kate Winslet have been friends for many years: "Hello, Martin, I didn't expect to meet here."

Martin immediately mentioned the mutual friends of the two parties: "Some time ago, Kate and I were filming in London. Kate also mentioned you specifically, saying that you helped design her clothes in public, which made her look a lot better."

Georgina smiled: "Actually, Kate cared about our sisterhood and gave me a chance to sponsor her."

Martin asked: "I remember that your Marchesa brand opened a design store in Los Angeles, please leave me a contact information, and I will bring friends to visit later."

Georgina's clothing brand took a high-end route, and she immediately took out a personal business card and handed it to Martin.

Likewise, Martin gave her his own personal business card.

Georgina knows that her husband has some prejudices against Martin, but she has her own social circle, and she doesn't care about Hollywood's grievances, and she wants to create a new luxury clothing brand.

She was married to Harvey Weinstein, and to his network.

It didn't take much effort for many big-name Hollywood actresses to wear her couture on the Oscars red carpet.

Georgina wants to further broaden her network: "Every once in a while, I will hold fashion parties in New York or Los Angeles, and you are welcome to attend."

"I have been there, and I was very impressed." Martin met Wes Craven at Georgina's fashion party that year: "I will definitely go again if I have the opportunity."

Georgina smiled back.

The sound of high heels landing next to him sounded, Martin turned his head and saw Cate Blanchett walking over.

Georgina waved lightly to Martin: "I should go."

Martin got up and said goodbye: "Goodbye."

Georgina went over, took Blanchett's arm, and walked towards the hotel entrance together.

Blanchett was wearing an evening gown by Georgina's brand Marchesa today. She waited a little further away and said in a low voice, "Martin Davis is a sinister man. Be careful when dealing with him."

But what Georgina heard about Martin at her friend Kate was the exact opposite. She smiled and said, "He can still eat me."

Blanchett was about to speak again, the hotel's automatic door opened, and Jack Nicholson, wearing brown sunglasses, walked in.

Seeing the old bastard, Blanchett immediately remembered what happened at Pinewood Studios in England.

Even if she had cultivated herself well, she couldn't help it. She was ashamed and annoyed at the time.

Blanchett said coldly: "Shameless!"

Who is Nicholson? An asshole in youth, equal to Marlon Brando in middle age, leader of a trio of assholes in old age.

He stopped in his tracks, took off his sunglasses, looked at Blanchett, and asked solemnly, "I'll get you a bruised and swollen butt? Do you want to do it again? It's okay here, I don't mind."

As soon as the words came out, everyone around looked over, their faces full of gossip.

Nicholson knew that it was the firecrackers at Pinewood Studios, and although he was misunderstood, he didn't care.

As the boss of the trio, it's nothing to do for the younger brother. He said loudly, "I love Blanchett. Last time I was in England, I was not careful when I was doing things, and I put her ass..."

Although an actor's skin is as thick as a city wall, Blanchett can't beat Nicholson at all. He stopped, "Shut up, you old bastard."

Nicholson laughed: "My room is at No. 9 on the 41st floor. You are welcome to come anytime tonight."

Georgina also wanted to laugh, but she couldn't. She endured it very hard, so she simply pulled Blanchett and said in a low voice: "Stop making trouble, let's go quickly, don't forget that you still have to participate in "Babel Tower" Premiere."

Blanchett stopped talking to Nicholson and walked forward with a tense face. When he reached the automatic door, he saw Leonardo watching the scene with great interest.

The two had worked together a few years ago, and although they couldn't talk about friendship, they were familiar with each other after all. She said, "You guys are really a bunch of bastards."

Leonardo shrugged and said nothing.

The old bastard Nicholson hadn't finished yet, he turned around and shouted, "I'll definitely come over tonight, don't worry, I'll take it easy!"

Blanchett was getting into the car and nearly hit his head on the roof.

Leonardo went over, put his arms around him and walked towards Martin: "You really don't want to lose face."

Nicholson didn't care: "You and Martin are so young, you both throw away your face and don't want it. I'm over 60 years old, what do I want this face for?"

Martin waved: "This way."

The two came over, pulled out the chairs and sat down.

Nicholson asked: "Am I loyal enough? Bear the infamy for you! I heard that Bell took a two-week break before returning to the Deadly Magic crew."

Martin then said: "So, both Leo and I wholeheartedly support you as the boss."

Leonardo said, "I just got out of the car and chatted with someone outside, and found that you had a very happy chat with Georgina Chapman."

"Harvey Weinstein's wife?" Nicholson asked.

"That's right, it's her." Leonardo looked at Martin carefully, and said deliberately: "As expected, you like beautiful women in their thirties the most."

Nicholson said again: "Harvey wanted to deal with you, and then you set your sights on Harvey's wife? Awesome, Martin, even I, an old bastard, admire you. As expected, our trio is the best at taking risks. The one who made the idea."

Martin is quite innocent: "I just met and chatted with someone, why did it all change in your mouth?"

Leonardo didn't hesitate, and said to Nicholson, "I'm going to make an offer, $1,000, and I'll definitely get Harvey's wife after I bet on Martin."

Nicholson said: "I also bet on Martin to get Georgina."

Martin was angry: "I bet $2,000, absolutely not!" He thought for a while, but it wasn't right, and said, "There must be a time limit, and you can't wait twenty years to get the bet, right?"

"Limited to two years!" Leonardo said, "Man, you're doomed!"

Nicholson felt that he had seen through everything: "He added a time limit, obviously because he didn't have confidence."

Martin was too lazy to continue, so he quickly changed the subject.

The trio discussed tonight's premiere of "Babel," starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, and considered one of "The Departed"'s biggest awards season competitors.

Near seven o'clock, Scorsese called, and the three of Martin went to the restaurant on the second floor to have dinner with director Scorsese.

After The Departed, regardless of the success or failure of the Oscars, Scorsese plans to rest for two years, and will wait until 2009 at the earliest to make new works.

Five marriages put Scorsese under heavy financial pressure, but the high income was enough for him to stop and take a good breath after years of non-stop filming.

Therefore, marriage is also the source of motivation for artists to create.

The more divorces there are, the more motivated the artists are.

Scorsese wants to rest, Martin doesn't care, Leonardo will be affected to a certain extent, and he has mainly cooperated with Scorsese these years.

But to Leonardo's level, there will be no shortage of good scripts and opportunities to cooperate with great directors.

It would be an exaggeration to say that the top-level feature film projects will go to Leonardo first, and the others will have their turn if he doesn't like them.
