Chapter 508 Distinguished Medal of Freedom

In the studio, which was arranged as a room facing the sea, Martin stood on the edge holding a rope and a wooden chair, waiting for director Nolan to make a decision.

Nolan walked back and forth, occasionally going to the window to look outside.

Marion, who was wearing a deep V evening gown, looked at Nolan and simply sat on the chair.

She and Martin had been waiting for some time.

After a moment, Martin asked: "Chris, to bind or not to bind?"

Nolan stopped, thought for a while, and said, "Bundle and non-bundle each filmed it."

When filming, the director will also come up with a lot of ideas. It would be good if the finished film can use one-tenth of the shooting lens.

Nolan returned behind the director's monitor and gave the order to start filming.

Martin and Marion entered the room, brought a chair and placed it in the center of the room, saying, "Sit down."

Marion sat in a chair and asked, "What are you going to do?"

Martin wrapped the rope around the legs of the chair and tied a knot: "I'm going to go out and get some fresh air. Just sit here and don't move. Wait for me to come back."

He grabbed the rope, climbed up the window, and jumped out.

"Stop." Nolan said: "After this one is passed, we will shoot the binding again."

Martin came around from behind and untied the rope.

Nolan's new assistant came to Nolan's side with a pen and notebook and said, "Director, there have been no highlights to write about."

This assistant was promoted by Nolan as an assistant director because he wrote wonderful highlights during "The Dark Knight".

Nolan said softly: "Calm down, it will come soon, because we have Martin."

The crew reset.

Before the filming, Martin said to Marion as he always did: "I'm sorry for the offence."

Marion smiled: "It doesn't matter, we are all here for work."

When the recorder called the table, Martin opened the door and took Marion into the room. He moved a chair for her to sit on, shook off the rope in his hand, and tied Marion to the chair with unusual skill.

He had specially trained with a prop master from the crew before. After the binding, Marion, who had not a particularly outstanding figure, suddenly became coquettish and sexy.

Martin tied a knot in the rope around the foot of the chair and jumped out of the window while the two were talking.

"Very good, this one passed!" Nolan thought the shooting effect was very good.

He ignored Martin, who went back to untie Marion's rope, and called for his assistant: "During the filming, in order to achieve the shooting effect required by the director, Martin learned rope skills and became a rope skills master."

The assistant picked up the pen and jotted it down in the notebook.

Martin untied Marion's rope, pulled her up, and asked, "Are you okay?"

Marion smiled and said: "The craftsmanship is good and very artistic."

Martin also laughed: "I have been practicing for a while."

The two of them left the set while talking.

The Japanese palace scene comes to the last part, which is the part where the palace collapses.

This scene means that the entire real scene built will be destroyed, and NG shots will be very troublesome.

Stunt actors are easy to talk about, but they basically don’t show their faces.

As a leading actor, Martin naturally has high standards.

Nolan specifically asked him to rest for half an hour before starting filming.

Martin sat in a chair and cleared his mind.

Bruce came over and asked, "Do you want me to give you a massage?"

Martin told the truth: "I'm only used to women massaging me."

Bruce pointed to the crowd: "Shall I help you find one? Among the helpers recruited by the crew from the local area, there are a few girls who are particularly beautiful."

Martin was curious: "You're pretty and you want to work as a helper?"

"I heard that they all come from ordinary local families." Bruce has heard many comments from the crew in the past few days: "The crew pays local helpers in US dollars, which is a high-paying job in Morocco."

Martin is somewhat familiar with this situation. One of the conditions for the crew to obtain large tax rebates and preferential policies in Morocco is to hire a large number of locals among extras and ordinary handymen.

"Arabs?" he asked.

Bruce said: "There are Arabs and there are Jews." He knew that Martin did not understand, and simply explained: "There are many Jewish families in Morocco, and not every Jewish family is rich."

"You know so much." Martin said deliberately: "Old Boo, be careful, AIDS originated in Africa."

Bruce gave Martin a middle finger without hesitation.

After chatting with Lao Bu, Martin really relaxed. As soon as the rest time came, he immediately entered the set. The stylist came over to sort out his suit and makeup, and the filming started again.

As the camera moves, the real-life buildings continue to collapse.

Martin also put his best foot forward, running quickly through the hall and "dodging" the collapsing buildings.

After more than twenty shots were shot, the palace building was completely destroyed.

Then comes the final scene of the scene.

As Martin ran so fast, the prop master opened the water tank, and tens of thousands of gallons of water stored in advance rushed out.

Houses collapsed and floods flooded.

Martin stood on the landing, soaked to the skin.

As soon as Nolan shouted stop, at least six or seven crew assistants came running over with blankets before Bruce could take action.

Needless to say, the treatment of the top cast member goes without saying.

Martin wrapped a blanket around him and held one in his hand, wiping his wet hair as he left the set and went into the trailer to take a shower and change clothes.

When he came out again, Martin found Bruce waiting for him at the door.

Bruce said: "Thomas just called and the White House officially sent you a notice inviting you to participate in this year's Independence Day celebration."

Martin immediately thought of the Santa Monica Pier incident and asked, "Are you going to award me the Presidential Medal of Freedom?"

Bruce followed him forward: "You can confirm that this time it is the Distinguished Presidential Medal of Freedom, which is divided into two parts: the Star Medal and the Grand Medal."

He added: "You can bring a female companion."

Martin calculated the time difference, asked for the cell phone from Bruce, and called Elizabeth Olson.

"Hi, honey, didn't you just call me this morning?" Elizabeth was in the studio watching Lily create Martin's award-winning carving.

Martin simply said: "Leave the Independence Day holiday to me and don't go out with your family, okay?"

Elizabeth's sweet laughter came from the receiver: "My dear, do you want to take me on vacation? I can go to Africa to find you."

Martin also laughed: "Let's meet up in Washington. The White House has informed me to attend the Independence Day celebration, and I will be awarded the medal then."

Of course Elizabeth would not miss such an important moment: "Okay, I'll go with you."

When she saw Lily in the carving, she stopped what she was doing. She quietly pricked up her ears and looked around. She raised her voice and said, "Can you take Lily with you? She will be on summer vacation and doesn't want to go back to Atlanta..." "

Martin didn't think much and said, "Okay, I'll let Bruce book the flight and room."

Elizabeth said: "I'm going to tell Lily right now. She will be very happy to hear it." She lowered her voice: "You have to be nice to Lily."

"I know." Martin saw Nolan's new assistant, the screenwriter with a particularly eye-catching eye, walking towards this direction, and said, "I have something to do right now. I'll call you later in the evening."

Elizabeth responded and hung up the phone.

Lily put down the tools in her hands, washed her hands, and came over and asked, "I heard you told Martin about me?"

"Oh, it's like this. Martin received an invitation from the White House for the Independence Day celebration..." Elizabeth briefly told the story: "Yesterday you complained to me that you were bored after the summer vacation and wanted to go to Africa together for a study tour. How about we go first? Washington, and then follow Martin to Africa?"

Lily looked at Elizabeth, smiled and said nothing.

Elizabeth felt that Lily opposite her was smiling like a cunning fox, but she didn't seem to understand. Just like before, she pulled her upstairs and asked, "Aren't you going? Witness Martin receiving the Distinguished Presidential Medal of Freedom." , do you want to miss it?"

Lily looked at this seemingly silly and sweet peer and said, "Go, why not go."

"I went to Washington when I was a child." Elizabeth said nothing else, but her longing for this journey: "Capitol Hill, the Washington Monument... I have forgotten what it looks like."

Lily simply acted stupid and said, "I don't know if I can meet Russian spies. I also want to catch a few and get a medal."

The two girls, who were like honeycombs, came to the first floor laughing and chatting. They told the housekeeper that they would go to the terrace on the third floor to drink tea and chat together.

Arriving on the balcony, Lily noticed something unusual next door and said, "Charlize Theron seems to be quarreling with her boyfriend."

Elizabeth said: "Her boyfriend is a great guy, but it's a pity that he is too far away and can't hear what they are saying..."

They were too far apart and could only see the two of them arguing in the yard. Lily added, "I heard someone on the set of The Dark Knight mention that this man also domestically abused Charlize."

Elizabeth shook her head: "I'm not sure about this, but according to the gossip reports I read the year before last, he scolded Charlize angrily in public and made her burst into tears."

The two of them were enjoying themselves drinking tea and eating melon.

At Atlas Cinemas, the assistant director approached Martin, exchanged a few words, and asked, "Did you find anything worth recording?"

Martin understood immediately: "Are you writing extras?"

"It's not a script, it's a real record!" The assistant director was very professional and emphasized one sentence, and then said: "Martin, you provided a lot of tidbits when filming The Dark Knight."

Martin smiled: "In this way, you can write that I am very popular in Africa and regarded as an idol by countless Moroccans."

The assistant director scratched his head in worry. To be promoted to this position, real behind-the-scenes were the key.

Martin said: "Let me give you one thing. During the filming, Martin took a leave of absence from the crew and went to Washington to attend the Independence Day celebration."

The assistant director paid close attention to Martin and asked, "Are you going to be awarded a medal again?"

Martin was already certain, saying, "Distinguished Presidential Medal of Freedom."

The assistant picked up the pen and quickly wrote it down in the notebook without forgetting: "Thank you, Martin, this tidbit will definitely attract attention."
