Chapter 57: Neighborhood Defense League

Chapter 57 Neighborhood Defense Alliance

After breakfast at the hotel, Martin came to the lobby and called Benjamin.

Last time, Benjamin said when he wanted to send him to the Sacred Valley, he was a film and television graduate from the Savannah Art Institute.

Martin mentioned the accent thing, and Benjamin asked Martin for help, so he helped the contact person without saying a word.

Within a few minutes, Martin was given a contact information. Martin drove to the Atlanta branch, found relevant personnel, and obtained the performance department’s audit qualification and related class schedule.

After listening to professional classes all morning, Martin went to a nearby professional bookstore in the afternoon and bought auxiliary equipment such as recorders and tapes.

He called Kelly Gray, who was still in Washington dealing with important matters.

It was not convenient for Martin to say those words on the phone, so he could only wait for her to come back.

Returning to the Clayton community and arriving at the school bus stop, Martin found two skinny black boys who wanted to harass Lily.

Lily is almost as tall as Elena.

The Martin drove over and honked the horn, and Lily ran over quickly.

The two skinny black boys didn’t give up and wanted to follow.

Martin pulled out a short-barreled shotgun from under the passenger seat, and the two black boys turned around and ran away.

Lily got into the passenger seat and grabbed the gun from Martin's hand.

Martin put the gun to the other side: "Let Harris pick you up from now on."

"Give me a gun." Lily took out a knife from her bag: "I'll let those **** watch it!"

Martin certainly won’t give it.

Back at Carter’s house, Elena was still practicing bartending, and Martin talked about what happened just now.

Elena said: "Harris, you will be responsible for taking Lily to the school bus station from now on."

Land and order in the community has been broken recently. After dinner, no one wants to go out. Everyone is busy doing their own things.

Martin put on his headphones and listened to the recording to practice his accent.

You will have to practice when you have time in the future. This is a long-term process.

As the night gets darker, a black business car approaches Clayton

Scott Carter lay on the seat in a weird posture and looked out the window from time to time. All the street lights outside were broken and it was pitch black.

By the moonlight, he saw two black men running out of a certain alley, robbing an unlucky man.

The car drove not far and as soon as it stopped, the driver shouted: "We're here, get out of the car!"

Scott moved his legs to get out of the car. Even if he took two painkillers in advance, it still hurt, so he could only move forward with a figure eight step.

Arriving at the door of the store, it took a lot of effort to lift the rolling shutter door.

He entered the door. From the originally dark shadows, four black men in black clothes ran out and rushed into the store before Scott closed the door.

The dark gun was pointed at Scott's face.

Scott was dumbfounded. Lao Hei from Nancheng was so good at using his talent.

The bald old man holding the gun said: "If you don't want to die, take out all your money."

Another Lao Hei pulled down the rolling shutter door at this time: "We have plenty of time."

Scott raised his hand: "Don't shoot, I'll give you money! I'll give you money!"

Money is not as important as life.

He gave it away before the money he earned tonight was used up.

"How much is this!" said the old black man with the gun: "You have been treating guests frequently in the bar recently, and you especially say you have made a lot of money. Just these few hundred dollars, what are you doing?"

Scott said: "No more, really no more!"

"Search!" the bald old black man ordered, and the other three old black men rummaged through the boxes.

The night was very long, and the gangsters had already targeted Scott and searched every corner of the grocery store.

With the gun pointed at his head, Scott did not dare to move at all.

The grocery store is not big, so the gangsters quickly dug out several wine boxes, which were filled with banknotes of various denominations.

Scott was shaking all over, but could do nothing.

The old black men opened the rolling shutter door and disappeared into the night.

Scott didn’t even dare to call the police. There were too many stolen goods from unknown sources in his store.

"My money! My money!" Scott's legs were weak and he sat down on the ground. Then he jumped up again: "My butt!"

 …

In the morning, at Carter’s house, five people had breakfast around the coffee table.

Martin looked at Harris who had his cast removed: "How was the SAT?"

Harris knew that Martin did not understand the specific score, and said: "The test is very good, but the social practice is relatively poor, and the probability of success in applying to public universities is greater."

 Martin asked: “Where’s the tuition?”

Harris already has something on her mind: “Student loans.”

Lily suddenly interjected: "You won't be able to pay off until you retire."

Elena took out the lottery ticket stub from her pocket, compared it with the results in the newspaper, cursed Fake, and threw it into the trash can.

 Martin asked: "Missed?"

Lily said first: "She has always had bad luck."

Mr. Wood came in from outside at this time and said with a smile: "You are all here."

Elena quickly threw the kettle under the coffee table: "Wood, what's wrong with you?"

Mr. Wood sat on a chair: "There have been frequent robberies around the community in the past few days. We called the police and got no response. I contacted many people to make complaints. The West City Police Department finally sent someone to discuss with us. Martin, I I heard that you have joined a very influential social organization and I would like to invite you to come with me."

Elena looked at Martin, who said: "Mr. Wood, I'll go with you."

Lily couldn't help it anymore: "They are all black people, they should be sent to the zoo!"

This time, Elena ignored Lily.

Martin changed into slightly more formal clothes, brought a work permit from the ATL Free Association, and followed Wood to the outskirts of the community.

Ashley, Welbeck, Nani and Valencia, who are slightly more prestigious in the community, all arrived.

After waiting for a while at Nani’s community supermarket, representatives from the police department arrived.

 A black policeman.

The grumpy Nani tried to use civilized words: "Officer, since those black gang members came to the community, the security of Clayton has been completely destroyed!"

The black police officer said: "This has nothing to do with black people."

Nani couldn’t help it: “Before the black people came, the public security in Clayton was not good, but it’s not this bad!”

The black policeman stood up and asked, “Are you discriminating against black people?”

“No, absolutely not.” The big hat was pushed down, and even the person in the White House couldn’t catch it. Martin quickly grabbed Nani and showed him his work ID.

The black policeman looked at the Free Association ID card and did not dwell on this issue. He said coldly: "We will strengthen supervision in this area, but the police force is limited and it is impossible to maintain high-frequency patrols. I give you a suggestion to form a neighborhood defense alliance. You report the person, and the police station will register it for you.”

Having said this is the same as not saying it.

The black policeman looked at his watch and said, "I have other jobs, so that's it."

The opponent has a skin color bonus, so there is no way to discuss the black issue, and everyone can only watch him walk away.

Nani asked: “What should I do?”

“I’m old, but I want to contribute to the community,” Wood said. “I have a long gun.”

Welbeck said: "Let's form a patrol!"

Fletcher asked: "What about the expenses?"

Everyone was silent. The poor people earned enough money to support their families.

Martin said something practical: "Post a notice on the community bulletin board, go out less at night, and avoid going to remote places even during the day. Count families who own guns, and exchange contact information with each other. If there is an attack, others will provide support."

Wood said: "Statistics staff, let's report it. If those gangsters really want to attack the community, we can take the initiative to defend and fight back."

Joining the Defense League will save you a lot of trouble in shooting. Martin thought for a while and said, "Elena and I have guns."

That afternoon, Nani, Wood and others took the list to the police station and registered it.

The Clayton Community Neighborhood Defense Alliance is officially established.

The fence in the yard is almost non-existent. Martin and Elena collected a lot of cans, filled them with gravel and tied them to the front and rear fences of the yard.
