Apocalypse: System of lotteries

133 Supernatural event

Ruby and Mark huddled behind a large rock, peering through binoculars into the distance. They spotted a hapless individual being relentlessly pursued by a massive mutated crab. The person writhed on the ground, struggling to evade the crab's ferocious attacks, while numerous fragments of energy stones littered the surrounding area.

The two of them exchanged sly grins and withdrew their heads. "Did you see that? That guy will dead, and once he's gone, all those energy stones on the ground will be ours."

"But that's a mutated crab, probably king-level. We wouldn't stand a ability against it," Mark pointed out.

"Don't be a fool. Once the crab finishes off that guy, it'll move on," Ruby replied confidently.

"Right, hehe~" Mark chuckled in agreement as they resumed their surveillance, silently cheering on the crab.

...

Ming encouraged the crab as there was Only the last psychic stone remaining. With one swift cut, he could retrieve all of its valuable contents.

Suddenly, the crab's claw descended from above. Ming deftly rolled to the left, narrowly not avoiding the strike as the claw smashed the last sizable fragment of energy stone in two.

"Great work, my friend!" Ming exclaimed, rising to his feet and facing the crab. However, his attention was diverted by a faint human smell wafting in another direction.

"The guy's about to be bite . Oh wait, he dodged again. What a shame."

"That's alright. The stamina of a king-level mutant creature is far beyond that of a mere human. I've heard that the Count once led a group of people to attack a two-star king-level mutant creature, and it took several lives before they finally managed to take it down."

"..."

The two fell silent, stunned by what they were witnessing. Ruby and Mark, perched on a rock with their binoculars, watched as the person stood up and faced the gigantic crab. Swiftly drawing out a massive chainsaw, the person revved it up, emitting a piercing sound. Then, with lightning-fast reflexes, the shadowy figure dodged the crab's attacks, moving with incredible speed and agility. With a deft flick of the wrist, the chainsaw sliced through the crab's belly, causing its intestines to spill onto the ground.

"..."

Ruby and Mark were utterly astonished, frozen in place as they watched the person expertly dismember the king-level mantis crab. He deftly severed its legs, one by one, until only its bald body remained. Then, he leapt onto the crab's head and sliced off its head with a harsh, grating sound.

"..."

Ruby and Mark pulled back their heads and set down their binoculars, squatting behind the rock. They exchanged uneasy glances before finally looking down at their feet. They were relieved that they hadn't foolishly rushed in earlier. They knew better than to provoke someone who could single-handedly slay a king-level mutant creature with such ruthless efficiency.

Elsewhere, the frogs lurked in the grass, observing the two suspicious figures ahead of them: one as black as charcoal, the other as white as flour. Crouching behind a rock, they watched the pair peek out and quickly withdraw their heads.

Da Vinci sensed that they were not to be trusted and decided to take action. Together with Foodie, they used their unique abilities to strip the two of their knives, clothes, pants, shoes, and other belongings. The two individuals panicked, clutching their crotches as they fled the scene.

Meanwhile, Ming had just defeated a one-star king-level boss and gained over a thousand experience points and a significant amount of gold coins. The reputation of the area also increased by three points as the mist slowly dissipated.

"Did they run away?" Ming scanned the area for any signs of danger.

Ming leapt off the shuttle crab and sniffed in the direction of the human scent he had detected earlier. It was no longer discernible within his hunter's range, indicating that the person had fled. There were dangers associated with these randomly generated areas, and he should exercise caution.

Ming brushed off the crab fat and shell powder from his attire. Utilizing a chainsaw to carve up the meat was wasteful, as there was enough minced meat on the ground to make a meal. Nevertheless, the crab was too immense to transport without slicing it open. He had initially planned to only take the crab legs, but upon recalling his earthworms required nutritional supplements, he gathered additional parts of the crab. Fortunately, his warehouse had ample space to accommodate it.

After gathering the scattered cards, he discovered they were all composed of unique materials, with the most valuable being the "Hard Shell, Special Material." His most significant gains, however, were the psychic stones scattered around the area. He gathered them all into his warehouse, intending to exchange some for psychic bracelets upon his return home, while reserving the remainder as equipment.

After he finished collecting, Ming retrieved his chainsaw and made his way towards the direction of the human scent.

...

Ruby and Mark dashed through the forest, stark naked and praying fervently for the divine. They were certain that they had experienced a supernatural occurrence, as their clothing had vanished without a trace.

"Oh, Lord, please absolve me of my transgressions and grant the spirits here eternal peace..."

"My Lord, please rescue us..."

After a brief sprint, they halted their progress and slowly walked, concealing their private areas with the sizable leaves they had found. They knew that the region was controlled by the Count, and that all the equipment and possessions were under his jurisdiction. At this point, they only had a bottle of water and a single piece of bread in their possession. Suddenly, an individual accompanied by two zombie puppets appeared before them. The trio exchanged glances, and Mark and Ruby implored for mercy simultaneously. The puppet master issued an order, prompting the two zombie puppets to attack them vigorously. Due to the otherworldly event that had just occurred, Mark and Ruby had no inclination to fight back.

With the puppet leading the charge and pursuing them from behind, they exchanged glances and made a beeline for the volcanic situated in the center of the island.

Alan was preparing to resume his search when he stumbled upon two individuals - one black and one white - whose attire was comprised solely of leaves covering their intimate body parts. Upon witnessing their clothing, he believed he had encountered either the island's indigenous tribe or uncivilized inhabitants.

As the two people retreated, they spoke a language he was unfamiliar with, and their expressions of terror suggested that they were frightened of his two zombie puppets. Alan gestured towards the pair and instructed his puppets, "Don't attack them!"

Nevertheless, the two zombie puppets charged at the individuals. Alan was at a loss for words.

"What on earth!"

...

Your frogs leapt out of the forest and spotted a mountain shaped like an inverted funnel. They resolved to explore the area and investigate further. Foodie gazed excitedly at the mountain and recalled that there should be even more substantial aquatic creatures in that vicinity. It spied two individuals, one black and one white, ascending the mountain in the distance and urging you to hurry so that they could secure the seafood before it disappeared.

Da Vinci gazed stoically at the pair of runners and recognized them as the sly individuals from before. It observed two zombies in pursuit and its eyes sparkled with interest. It nudged Foodie and queried, "What do you think about those two?"

Foodie nodded enthusiastically, unable to discern their face, but their body looked perfect. Da Vinci hopped onto Foodie's back and declared, "For Ming, let's go!"
