Fiona had spent the last two years adjusting to her master's eccentricities.

And she still was of the opinion that he was insane.

Highly competent, but still insane.

Once she had fully healed from her transplants, Aura had brought her everywhere with him.

He had snatched up valuable land like it was nobody's business and played the markets in ways she didn't even think possible.

He'd made so much money in just two years that it was ridiculous.

He anticipated every disaster and event, always prepared with just the right supplies.

A city had been attacked by a monster horde, and her master had swung in with food, building materials, and all other necessary supplies to rebuild.

He'd arrived three days after the disaster and sold everything for above market price.

Due to his storage skill, transport costs were basically nil.

He'd sometimes disappear for a few hours and return with something extremely valuable.

Their journey was nonstop travelling, and her master even screwed over a city by buying all their iron supplies and selling them for triple the price.

He made his initial investment with impeccable foresight, then began using brute force to make money, raising the prices of supplies artificially and then selling for a massive profit.

He had so much money that he could literally f.u.c.k the market to his advantage.

And the fact that he wasn't killed for it owes entirely to his 'guerilla tactics' where he would buy out all the supplies on the market, then use a return scroll to go home, wait a few days, then go back to the city and sell.

By the time he arrived back in the city, people would be so desperate that they didn't care that they were buying from the man who screwed them over in the first place.

Fiona's master used illusion spells and clever disguises to make it seem like a different person every time.

His willingness to completely ignore common sense and morality just made it all the clearer that the man was insane.

He didn't directly harm anyone on his moneymaking trips, but he did withhold supplies that civilians desperately needed in order to make a profit.

All the while he was selling rainbow crystals and forged weaponry in small batches, establishing a reputation as a mysterious master blacksmith.

All the items he made had the same mark on them.

A runic symbol that nobody recognized.

Thus people called him the Runesmith, the Shadow Thief, the Merchant of Death, and other names, but nobody but her and him knew that all of those titles are given to a single man.

Who was currently tinkering with all sorts of advanced crafting tools and formulas and diagrams, setting up what looked to be a ritual of sorts.

Some sort of freakish ritual that apparently required the blood of a divine being.

And this ritual would be done to her.

Of course, nobody ever bothered to ask her opinion on creepy god's blood rituals performed without the victim's consent.

Though, at least her master didn't have god's blood on hand.

Fiona was starting to believe that the man had everything of value in that storage skill of his.

He even pulled out a lump of adamantite just to show her what it looked like.

Her master was scary, and those who knew him probably felt the same way.

He had no morality, no inhibitions, he did what he wanted when he wanted, and he was too clever for anyone to be able to stop him.

But the good news is that she could walk, and fly, and breathe underwater, and also didn't really have to worry about dying a horrible death for the moment.

She was a moderately beautiful demon girl with bat wings and mismatched eyes, so if she got out of her slave's mark, she could get back home pretty damn easily.

Though it was debatable whether she would be welcomed back into the kingdom of the demons.

A defiled princess with a freakish body, who disappeared and learned all sorts of amazing spells and casting tricks from a hermit who may or may not be responsible for mass panic and numerous felonies.

Why wouldn't she be welcomed home with open arms and a parade through the capital?
