Once the forest was thoroughly cleared, Aura headed back to Merinford with his loot in tow.

The spider queen's venom sac and force stone were decent quality items, Aura planned to sell the venom sac and turn the magic stone into alchemical stabilizer, though not of high enough quality to truly matter.

Monsters in ascendance, stronger ones, usually had a core that would act as a sort of heart, pumping their force tbroughout their body.

These cores could be used to manufacture alchemy stabilizer.

For repairing the Dawn's Fury, Aura wanted a neutral attributed force stone from a high-level monster, anything less would ruin it.

While Aura was walking, he sold all the items he wouldn't need, and began to roughly carve some sword hilts out of the blackwood.

Carpentry normally required all sorts of tools, but when creating small items like a sword hilt, a knife was more than enough to get a close approximation.

By the time he had returned, he had used up all the blackwood.

At this point, Aura finally reached Merinford, and once he passed the gates, he headed straight for the Blacksmith's Guild, renting a master forging room for the day, putting him back another twenty gold.

In the game, there are two ways to forge, the first being thr way it's been done in the real world for millenia, and the second being to mold a material using force energy.

Players can use force energy to saturate a material, and then mold it freely, but in order for this technique, you must use the force that the material is naturally inclined to, failing that, the material will be destroyed.

Aura used this second technique to shape the metal, working it into a sword blade without ever putting it under a fire.

After a whole day Aura had created a little over a hundred swords.

Now that Aura was a master blacksmith, he used the remaining twenty minutes on his rental to turn the mithril into some barrier stones, which would allow him to set up a private residence in the wild.

Aura then head off to buy a large quantity of lumber, which he planned to use to make furniture for his house, as well as some inscribing tools.

Aura also placed some gold coins for sale on the net market, selling them for a $100 each. The money he could earn this way wasn't much, but he could use it well with his future knowledge.

Sadly, Aura couldn't make any investments. Forgotten Industries would soon monopolize the market of everything, not just technology, and even now a single share in their company went for an astronomical sum, or it would if they were selling.

FI had never gone public, instead privately funding all their endeavors, even a hundred years later this had remained true.

Because of how FI operated, there wasn't a single company that would be worth investing in. Aura's only real choice was to win the lottery using the numbers he remembered, but this was only going to happen once, since the future would quickly change based upon his actions.

Aura's only way to make enough money for his goal was to become famous enough to interest an FI higher up, which would allow him to join their team as a professional player.

He didn't necessarily need to become famous to the outside world, he just needed to become famous to FI.

His entrance into Ascendance had probably already caught their attention, what with him starting the game with skills he shouldn't have been able to know.

Now all he had to do was continue to do things that should be impossible, things that would require knowledge he couldn't have, FI would then begin to suspect him of cheating, at which point he would be offered a position at the company so they could monitor him. They would also suspect an internal leak, but that was impossible, since they only created Ascendance's framework, and then let the system generate a world within it.

Since he wasn't cheating and he couldn't have gotten inside info, what was going on?

That question was Aura's ticket to immortality.
