Chapter 56: Mysterious and Ambiguous Grove

“True enough, all the plots in any novels and movies are all fake. There is really no deity that will step in on colorful clouds to save the people who need help. Anhao has already suffered so many years of grievances but no one came to save her! I am really losing all hope already…”

Chunchun continued staring at Anhao as she continued covering the redness of her cheek using the foundation. The more she looked at Anhao, the more frustrated Chunchun felt.

Anhao froze for a moment as she patted the foundation onto her face, listening to Chunchun’s words, not saying anything at all.

After arriving at her classroom, several of her classmates could not help but stare at her with a strange expression on their face because it was truly a rare occasion for Anhao to arrive at her classroom at eight o’clock sharp in the morning.

Anhao arriving punctually to class was really big news.

Anhao squinted her eyes and smiled before she replied, “Zuo Hancheng.”

“Again?”

“What is the point? He is already a male idol now without even doing anything at all! Why are you trying to impress him? It will not be that easy!”

Anhao felt that there was no way that she would be able to explain the situation to them. Therefore, she only shook her head without saying anything at all.

After lunch, Anhao decided to head to the library to spend an hour or so to look for some books to help in her studies. Chunchun and Huang Amao had already decided to go back to the dormitory to take a short nap before going for their next class later in the afternoon.

Therefore, Anhao went to the library on her own. After entering the library, Anhao walked amongst the numerous bookshelves in the library as she looked for some quick study notes and books that she could use for her studies. After spending some time in the library, Anhao finally found one of the books written by a professional and she quickly headed toward the librarian so that she could go through the procedure of borrowing the book.

As she was headed toward the counter, Anhao suddenly saw a familiar figure walking toward her from another bookshelf that was not too far away.

Anhao was very eager to turn around and avoid him but she knew that it was already too late. Yi Zeyang had already seen her and he was already walking toward her.

Anhao held tightly onto the book in her hand as she watched the figure that was approaching her.

There were a lot of people in the library at this time, including teachers, students and also the library staff. Anhao believed that Yi Zeyang would not be able to do anything to her. Therefore, she stood still in place as she waited for him to approach her.

Yi Zeyang was holding onto a French financial analysis data book which he would be using for his upcoming lecture in a few days’ time. Anhao glanced at the book in his hand as he stopped directly in front of her.

As soon as he approached her, Anhao subconsciously took a few steps backward. She suddenly thought of the familiar taste of his lips against her own when she was drunk at the bar just a few nights ago. As she thought about it, she suddenly felt very embarrassed to face him.

“Come with me,” Yi Zeyang suddenly said.

Anhao stood still and she did not move at all. “Professor Yi, if you don’t mind, I would like to take advantage of the lunch break to spend some time going through some quick study notes. If there is nothing important, I will go back to the classroom first.”

Anhao replied as soon as she heard Yi Zeyang’s words before she turned around to walk away. Yi Zeyang grabbed hold of her arms and Anhao could only turn around to face him.

His eyes were a little cold and indifferent and Anhao did not know what he was feeling at the moment.

However, she did not want to go out and talk to him alone because all that she could think of was what Zuo Hancheng had said to him over the phone the other night. She knew that she would not be able to go through his questioning. “Okay, you know that I have utmost respect for you but it does not mean that I should give in to you all the time. Do you want me to break the rules and yell at you in the library? Do you really want to engage in a conversation with me in front of all these teachers and students here or do you want to just follow me quietly so that we can have this conversation elsewhere?”

“Where do you want to go?”

Yi Zeyang pursed his lips before he replied, “Just follow me first.”

Anhao was very helpless but all that she could do was to follow after him with heavy footsteps.

After walking out of the library, Anhao followed behind Yi Zeyang as they walked along the corridor. Yi Zeyang’s pace was slightly faster and he was not walking by her side or patiently waiting for her to catch up with him as usual.

Both Yi Zeyang and Zuo Hancheng were about one hundred and eighty centimeters in height and it was very difficult for Anhao to catch up with his pace. Therefore, she could only trot all the way to keep up with his pace.

Yi Zeyang did not turn around to check on her but he was obviously certain that she was following behind him.

As soon as they came to the end of the corridor, Yi Zeyang turned to the right and headed straight into the grove behind the library.
