[Taking a break]

“—Kill ‘em all! Don’t let Yuri hog all the spotlights!” Baldhead shouted.

“Kill!” Zansword screamed.

As I fought against the girls, the battle situation kept changing.

With my trump card ‘Atlach Nacha’ down for the count, we instantly lost our numerical advantage.

But the baldhead and Zansword put up a great fight against the Goddess’ side when they tried to counterattack.

In addition, the magicians of the Demon King’s side took up positions on the walls and began bombarding the enemies, giving them a taste of their own medicine.

As a result…

“R-retreat!”

“Move to the second base!”

The Goddess’ side players fled the town, running with their tails between their legs.

As soon as they were completely out of sight, my comrades cheered loudly.

[We took over the town–!]

Thanks to everyone’s efforts, the Demon King’s army successfully captured ‘Beginning Town.’

“Great Demon King, take off your dress! Right now!”

“Hey, Grimm, I can do it by myself, so stop pulling it?!”

–Sometime after we had captured the Beginning Town.

After making sure that there were no enemies left in town, we decided to take a break.

We couldn’t possibly keep fighting nonstop. In my case, especially; I had to wait for an hour so ‘Giant Monster Summon’ go off cooldown.

That’s why I gave the order to rest, but there were some players who instead became active at times like this.

“Producer units, it is time to work! Let’s gooo!!”

[Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!]

Grimm, my personal blond-haired smol craftswoman, enthusiastically raised her arm along with other craftsmen.

They swiftly stripped off the armor and weapons of the battle-exhausted players before rushing off to a corner of the town.

There, the place had been transformed into a super-sized workshop, filled with workbenches and smithing tools, for production players.

Apparently with the special art ‘Anywhere Field Workshop’, Craft Makers could summon a set of work equipment anywhere. Thousands of them had used it simultaneously, turning the area into a craftsman town.

“Hey, you, samurai over there! Don’t even think about running away! I’m going to repair your equipment, so take it off! TAKE-IT-OFF!”

“Eek, a loli is stripping me naked?!”

Grimm stripped Zansword of his armor too.

Strangely, though, he looked happy about it. I found it quite disgusting, so I flicked his forehead, but he went on to hug me, saying, “I’m not cheating, please believe me!!” What’s gotten into him now?

“Well, this guy has always been weird, so meh…”

I shoved the stupid samurai—now wearing nothing but a fundoshi—away from me and then placed my hand on Grimm’s small shoulder.

Bending my waist, I looked into her beautiful jade-green eyes, which were burning with enthusiasm.

“I leave our equipment in your care, Grimm. Help us win.”

“Great Demon King… Yes, you can count on me. Be sure you rest too!”

Grimm nodded firmly and rushed off with the equipment.

She was a really reliable craftswoman. Glad I had invited her to join my guild.

“Okay, guess I’d follow her advice and take a rest.”

I made my way to the nearby fountain square and settled down on the edge of the fountain, enjoying some ice cream.

The ice cream was distributed by players with the job of Food Maker, a special production job.

It tasted much better than the ones sold in stores and my fatigue seemed to melt away instantly.

“Everybody is doing their best…”

The air was filled with a sense of solidarity.

Magicians and archers were acting as lookouts on the town walls while the swift covert players were out searching for the Goddess’ side whereabouts.

So this is teamwork, I thought to myself. It wasn’t bad at all.

“—Yo, Miss. Why’re ya sitting here all alone, looking melancholic?”

Just then. A strong arm wrapped around my shoulder.

I could tell whose it was without looking. Looking back, I’d known this guy for so long now.

“You never change, huh. If you’re trying to pick up a girl, go hit on real girls, Baldhead.”

“Come on, don’t be like that. You’re the only one who doesn’t instantly run away when I call, Yuri.”

I laughed with my rival, the baldhead.

That reminded me, since I had left my equipment to Grimm, I was now wearing the starting black dress, just like I had been when we first met.

“I’m really grateful for your joining my side, by the way. Thanks to you, we successfully captured the Beginning Town.”

“Heh, that sounds like sarcasm from the one with the most contribution. …That aside, did you notice yet, Yuri?”

The baldhead’s face suddenly turned serious. Huh, he didn’t look bad when he shut his mouth and rein in his vulgar air.

“Yeah, you’re quite good-looking…”

“No, I don’t wanna hear that from a guy with a face so good he can pass off as a beautiful girl!”

The baldhead snatched my ice cream and immediately shoved it–cone and all–into his mouth.

As he ate it with crunchy sounds, he yelled, “How’d you like that, huh? You damn, pretty boy!” What was wrong with this bastard? Was he making fun of me or praising me?

“Wait, I’m not talkin’ ‘bout my face. What I’m tryin’ to say is…”

Swallowing the ice cream, the baldhead spoke, “There were almost no assassin players in this town, including Pendragon.

“Which means—the real ‘War of Extinction’ only starts from here.”
