Bound To Evil

Chapter 107 - Preparations (1)

[Amandla's POV]

I would be lying if I were to say that I didn't expect the soldiers to react positively to Lazar's offer given the fact that this girl had the label 'troublemaker' written on her forehead, but still, such enthusiasm...

A split second after Sullyvan nodded his head in non-verbal approval of what Lazar had proposed, a young soldier with a bloody bandage on her right leg staggered over to Katelyn's motionless body with a smirk on her face suggesting that she had a score to settle.

Rejecting with a movement of her right hand the help of one of her colleagues who was going to carry Katelyn by the legs because it was obvious that she was struggling to drag her on her own by the arms, she was exuding the words 'she is my prey' with the wild expression I could see on her face...

We were all able to see that she was quite impatient to be out of sight to do whatever she had in mind to 'the freak', and frankly I personally found her cute considering the relationship Lazar and I had with the said shitbag she was dragging across the asphalt of the road.

Lazar's back was facing me but even so I could guess that he was smiling, or at least inwardly given how satisfying the sight of Katelyn disappearing into a tent with the prospect of her not emerging from it again for a long time was...

In my case I was bȧrėly holding back from putting on a cheerleading outfit and going into that tent to shout joyfully at the soldier, "I want to see torture! Give me a T! An O! An R! Another T! A U! Another R! And a fuċkɨnġ E! I want to see fuċkɨnġ torture!"

But I digress...

I put my left hand on Lazar's right shoulder and my right hand on Sullyvan's left shoulder then waited for them to turn around, when I saw that their eyes were focused on me, I reminded them what we had to do, "The sooner we get this over with the sooner we can get on with what really matters." This sentence was more for Lazar than for Sullyvan.

Just as I thought Sullyvan would be offended by my words since I was somehow referring to his hierarchy he replied something unexpected, "You know what? Let me take care of them alone and if it doesn't work then I will come to you." He suggested with confidence, referring to a meeting he had previously arranged between the rest of the chain of command in charge of the reconquest of Boston and us.

Lazar and I had our plans so I wasn't surprised by his response as well as the hastiness of it knowing that he felt that this meeting had to take place but that it was a waste of time for him and me to attend, "As you wish." He replied bluntly without even looking at Sullyvan before heading towards his house without adding anything.

I stayed a little longer (even if I didn't want to) so that as a group we wouldn't be considered as rude, "See you later I guess." I said to everyone present waving my hand around to something like 300 soldiers…

I wasn't sure what was better between Lazar's method and looking polite but slightly weird like I did, however, it was too late to worry about that now…

To avoid the situation becoming really awkward by giving the soldiers time to respond to my goodbye, I started walking quickly to join Lazar at his home.

[Lazar's POV]

The fact that Amandla was staring weirdly at me when before that she was quietly eating made me confirm that she received the same notification as me…

❗ [Death and Conquest considers that the relationship of their respective Disciples is advanced enough to be taken to the next level] ❗ .

The wording was awful here, I understand why she's looking at me like that.

❗ [You can use the Alliance tab] ❗

Now I'm interested…

Just with the notification before this one and the name of the tab, I had an idea of what this alliance thing was referring to...

However, given that the notification mentioned trust and that this alliance tab must surely contain information about Amandla I preferred to discuss it with her before... "*Cough*, *cough*." Nevermind, the way she was choking on her rice pudding right now was telling me she already looked at it, I'm not going to bother now.

Just after I thought of using the Alliance tab a rather basic window materialized in my mind...

Unlike the inventory there was no explanatory note and as my eyes wandered through the tab I understood why, it looked simplistic and so was it...

The only thing I could see in this tab was Amandla's status and frankly when I looked at it I didn't see what she found so outrageous about mine (assuming that's what she saw) for choking on her dessert, her status wasn't as impressive as mine but not far from it.

⚫ [Disciple of Conquest]

◼ This class was bequeathed to Amandla by Conquest himself in the hope that she may one day match or surpass him.

◼ It is a versatile class, allowing a large number of defensive and offensive alternatives as long as it's not a short-range fight, however, the strength of this class doesn't lie in that but in its ability of support.

◼ As the Disciple of Conquest, Amandla's skills are mainly focused on controlling the battlefield and optimizing the cohesion between the different Disciples of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, like her entity, she is destined to become the main strategist of her alliance.

Her statistics, the description of her skills and class, with all of that I had a more or less precise idea of what Amandla was capable of doing, but given that our goal for the end of this morning was to completely review our way of fighting together, numbers and letters weren't enough to tell myself that all our problems of cooperation were solved.
