“Hold on! I saw some herbs! Let me pick them up first!” BigVolumeHeal shouted.

She then ran to the corner, took her tools out and carefully bagged some unknown plants.

“Okay, I’m done.”

“Sis Vol is such a good wife, it’s like you are doing housekeeping while running the dungeon” ShootingSheepFrom100ft said.

“I have to, leveling is very item consuming, I have to harvest some plants or mine some ores to help myself at times.”

After BigVolumeHeal got her herbs, the party pressed forward. They got some white gear from clearing the mobs.

They then arrived at the first boss stage, a giant black hound stood in front of them. Its body was pitch black and it was lying down on the ground, snoring.

[Cave Guardian Beast: Black Claw] (Boss)

[Level: 10]

[HP: 26,000]

“Let me introduce you to Black Claw. This boss has two skills: Armor Break Curse and Venom Shot. Armor Break Curse is a skill that can decrease armor, it will only cast it on the highest aggro target; Venom Shot is a cone-shaped AOE skill that will inflict poison on all targets within range. It has a high landing rate, so it will pressure our healer.

“Nocturne, be mindful of your position when you aggro the boss. We will engage the boss from the rear and you should back up to the wall. We will be safe from the Venom Shot and our Rogue can do his job better. Rogue skills have additional damage when attacking from rear.”

“If the boss has skills that can cause knockback, you being at the wall will decrease some damage taken.”

“Okay, noted.” Nocturne did not expect the boss fight to be this technical, FlyingFireball’s explanation taught him a lot.

“If you get it, let’s begin.”

“Okay, I’ll go aggro the boss. Be ready guys.”

Nocturne then slowly moved closer to the sleeping Black Claw, but before he could get close enough, its sharp instinct warned it of an intruder. It woke up with a furious roar and threw a claw strike at Nocturne.

Nocturne strategically moved himself around while engaging its attack, his slick movement successfully lured Black Claw to the corner.

However, when he walked past a hole in the wall, he noticed a slight glow inside but it was just a glimpse. He thought he was seeing things.

He had his hands full with the boss, so he did not have the time or mood to find out what the glow was.

Black Claw’s attack speed was high and the way it attacked was smart. Nocturne had a hard time blocking and his block rate was not that decent either.

FlyingFireball commanded the rest of the party into position and when Nocturne and Black Claw got into position, he commanded everyone to dish out everything they had.

“Okay guys, dish out everything you got! We must raise our DPS quickly!” FlyingFireball then performed gestures for his incantations and started casting spells.

Nocturne had good gear, his HP regen and armor were high as well, so Armor Break Curse was barely effective to him. On top of that, Venom Shot only landed on Nocturne since he was diverting the attention of the boss from his party, therefore the pressure on the healer was lifted.

With a steady amount of damage being dished out, the fight finally ended as the boss did not do anything unexpected.

“Me, me! I want to touch the body!” ShootingSheetFrom100ft jumped to the dead boss excitedly and accessed the loot.

[Acquired: Black Scale Plate, Black Leather Wrist Guard, Black Leather Mantle.]

[Requirement: Level 11]

[Black Leather Mantle] (Great)

[Mantle]

[9 Armor]

[+2 Strength]

[3 Stamina]

[Requirement: Level 11]

“The first two pieces are automatically distributed by the system, so that’s that. Even though everyone can equip the mantle, the mantle is obviously for a Strength class, so those who don’t need it can just skip it,” FlyingFireball said as he gave up on the mantle.

Players should not fight for equipment that did not match their class. The Hunter and Rogue in the party used chainmail and leather armor respectively, so the system automatically distributed the first two loot.

As for the mantle, it had no class restriction, and when everyone in the party might be suitable for the gear, they could participate in a dice roll.

The party was rather harmonious, no arguments happened throughout the process, therefore Nocturne easily got the mantle.

“Thank you everyone,” Nocturne said his thanks.

“It’s fine. Let’s go. From now on, monsters appear in pairs. It shouldn’t be that hard either, aggro one and we will take the other one,” FlyingFireball waved his hand and said.

When the party made a turn in the tunnel, they found two cave dwellers with spears patrolling the area.

[Cave Guardians] (Elite)

[Level: 11]

[HP: 1,200]

“Let me explain. These two are the so-called ‘door guardians’ of the place. They usually patrol in front of the boss or at the start of the dungeon. One of their characteristics is they have high Attack and a burst skill. If you are not prepared, you might end up dead easily. The healer must be mindful of the timing to heal; the tank must drink potions when it’s getting low.”

“Okay, I’ll go aggro them.”

Nocturne got into position and started engaging the monsters. The cave guardians were startled when provoked and they swung their halberds at Nocturne.

The high damage shocked Nocturne for a bit. He quickly consumed a vial of potion, followed by the healer’s heal.

After getting healed, one of the cave guardians went off and was attracted by the healer’s heal.

Nocturne quickly cast Holy Smite on it to pull it back.

He sustained the attack and started building his aggro. Fortunately, the two cave guardians used halberds, which resulted in slower attack speed; he was able to block more attacks than before.

“Okay, guys, DPS time!” FlyingFireball commanded when Nocturne got the monsters’ attention.

The cave guardians were only scary at the start and when they got used to the attack patterns, the fight went on smoothly.

A while later, the party managed to take them both down.

Taking out the two cave guardians gave them two keys and another piece of gear.

[Black Battle Halberd] (Great)

[Two-handed Polearm]

[21 – 32 damage]

[+6 Strength]

[+4 Stamina]

[Requirement: Level 12]

“Since no one can use the halberd in the party, let’s just roll the dice, sell it off and you might get something,” FlyingFireball said as he cast the dice, but only got 11 points.

“Hahaha, bro! You are really bad luck! Your sister, me, will show you the right way!”

ShootingSheepFrom100ft got 9 points.

“What in the… this doesn’t make sense.”

“Haha…”

In the end, BigVolumeHeal got 99 points and won the rolls, crushing everyone else’s numbers.

“Okay. Now, we are at the final stage. The last boss is behind this door. It has two skills. One, an all-rounded Bleeding buff; Two, summon mobs whenever its HP is lowered by 25%.”

“The little mobs summoned by the boss have high Attack but low HP, so the tank must aggro the boss when the little mobs come out and the others must clear out the mobs as soon as possible.”

“The last time we failed is because the Bleed effect overpowered us. The healer didn’t have any group healing skills yet, hence the failed run. I hope that with Vitality Halo’s regen, we can survive the Bleed effect.”

“Get ready everyone. Refresh your buffs. If you have any consumables that you can sponsor to the healer, be generous, it’s for the sake of clearing the dungeon,” FlyingFireball said.

After a quick thought, Nocturne took out the Grilled Moonscale Fish from his bag and gave it to BigVolumeHeal.

BigVolumeHeal was surprised and said with a smile, “Thank you!”

“You’re welcome. For the sake of clearing the dungeon.”
