Chapter 9: Achievement

It seemed like this girl, Beitang Meng, loved spicy food.

After everything was sold out, Nocturne wrapped it up and wanted to submit the quest at the fishing shop. He planned to go offline after that to make dinner.

He headed straight to the fishing shop to submit the quest.

“Quest completed: Collect Long-mouth Eel. Acquired 10 Mastery Points in Fishing, Fish Bait x 300.”

Only mastery points and some fishing bait. It seemed like the quest reward was exclusive to the fishing lifestyle skill, it was quite generous to be honest. He was one step closer to learning the skill book which would allow him to locate larger schools of fish. The amount of fishing bait he had would suffice for a while.

Nocturne had a feeling that the skill to locate a larger school of fish would be amazing, he wanted to learn it as soon as possible.

He went to the river and started fishing again. Until he logged off for the day, his fishing mastery had reached 47 and he acquired two more Waterproof Boxes. Unfortunately, he did not get anything good from the boxes.

After returning to the real world, he went to the toilet to wash up and wanted to head to bed.

Chubby Blue noticed its slave was in bed, so it jumped up onto the bed and started to give Nocturne a ‘chest massage’ through the blanket.

“Purr, Purr…”

A while later, Chubby Blue started to nuzzle Nocturne’s head before it buried its face at his neck and started snoring.

“Purr…Purr…”

The cat’s snore was uncomfortable at first but as Nocturne got used to it, it was quite soothing and relaxing. A cat’s snore meant that the cat was comfortable.

Nocturne was able to relax with the snoring.

He was thinking that since his fishing mastery had reached a certain level, he should change to a new place to continue fishing tomorrow.

The thought slowly put him to sleep with the snoring lullaby by his ears.

On the second day, instead of the alarm waking him up, Chubby Blue’s licks did.

“Meow.”

Chubby Blue started to roll around and asked to be pampered since its slave had woken up.

Nocturne carried the cat up and furiously rubbed its head.

He went on his phone and selected all the food for himself and for Chubby Blue through delivery. He ordered chicken heart, liver, gizzard, breast, duck meat, beef and some mackerel for the little fellow. 

Making his own cat food was cheaper, healthier and more nutritious than the typical cat food sold in a pack.

After completing his chores, three hours had passed and when he got into the game, it was already afternoon.

The sun was bright but not too harsh, it felt warm. 

Nocturne strolled along the river. 

The river that he had been fishing could not provide him with mastery points anymore, he had to find a new place to fish. He was thinking about finding a new spot along the river.

After strolling for a while, Nocturne noticed the river was connected to a big lake and there were already two players fishing there.

“Discovered Moon Lake. Acquired 10 EXP.”

“So this is Moon Lake? I guess this will be the new spot, there ought to be bigger fish in such a big lake.”

Nocturne adjusted his rod and float before he tossed the line out.

A while later, the float sank and the rod shook.

“Damn, it’s so strong!”

He quickly grabbed his rod. “Damn, it’s heavy! It must be a big one!”

As the fish was dragged out of the water, Nocturne saw a big fish, twice as big as his palm, struggling at the end of the hook.

He got excited and motivated when he started getting mastery points again.

Two streams of golden light enveloped Nocturne, he instantly got two levels from the system.

Before he could react, the system sent out a global notification.
