Dragon God Warrior

Chapter 45 - Lost in a Green Maze

Long Lao Er was walking through an umber-brown, ancient forest. It reeked of age. Its woody incense was from thousands of snapping branches crashing to the forest's floor and rotting silently. Every sprawling tree Long Lao Er passed under reminded him of a watchful guardian, a silent sentinel of the groves. He decided to venture deeper into the tangled heart of this primeval demonic forest. The further he went the thicker the foliage became.

A ripple of Qi essence was emitted through the green foliage while Long Lao Er was crossing. Finally Long Lao Er arrived at a wide glade, where the trees fell away, revealing the bespeckled sky.

"What the heck happened?"

Long Lao Er thought as his spiritual sense told him that his cultivation level had dropped from the fifth level of the Qi Foundation Establishment Realm into the fifth level of the Qi Condensation Realm.

"Did I got inside an array by mistake?" Long Lao Er thought as he kept walking.

Far away near the lake a small figure appeared, curious Long Lao Er approached. In front of him a small yet perky round b.u.t.t.o.c.k.s sway left and right as the little figure hummed.

"Hello there!!"

Scared by the sudden appearance and greetings from Long Lao Er a gasp sounded and the figure revealed a little girl.

The little girl looked around ten years old. She was wearing a simple and neat small skirt. Although she was young, her silk-like hair reached her waist and fluttered with the wind. A face that was carved from jade was extremely cute, she was just too adorable. Standing there, she was like an exquisite jade doll.

"Hello, what's your name? Little girl." Asked Long Lao Er to the nervous cute little girl.

"Mommy says that I'm not supposed to talk to strangers."

"Indeed, your mother is right. My name is Long Lao Er, now that you know my name we aren't strangers, right?" Responded Long Lao Er to the little girl.

Seeing that she wouldn't answer, he took out a couple of candies and start eating them. Seeing Long Lao Er enjoy do much the candies; the little girl got enough courage to reply while drooling at the sight of the candy.

"That looks tasty uncle, may I have some please?"

"I would like to let you have some but we aren't aquatinted, right? I don't even know your name."

Said Long Lao Er to the little girl who immediately answered.

"My name is Xiao Huli." Said the little girl.

Satisfied by her answer he gave her a candy to which Xiao Huli accepted it. A sweet taste invaded Xiao Huli's paladar as the sweetness of the candy invaded her mouth and exploded through her body making her find a new way to become happy.

Long Lao Er silently looked at her devouring the candy and as an open book he saw through Xiao Huli as her greedy expression for more candies gave him leverage over her.

Long Lao Er took another candy and loudly said to himself.

"If only I knew where I am, I would give that person more candy."

"You're in the Lost Forest region uncle and not very far away from here to the north lays the house where mother and I live." Anxiously answered Xiao Huli as she hurried up to catch the candy Long Lao Er threw at her.

Once again seeing her innocently enjoy her candy Long Lao Er asked her.

"Do you know how to exit this Lost Forest?"

Without looking at him as she munched her candy Xiao Huli answered that only her mother knew the way out.

"Can you take me to meet your mother please?" Asked Long Lao Er.

"If uncle gives me more candy I can introduce you to mommy." Answered Xiao Huli with her sweet smile.

"I'm sorry but you ate all my candies."

A disappointed expression was shown in Xiao Huli's face but it almost instantly turn into a joyous expression as she replied.

"In that case if uncle is willing to play with me I can introduce you to mommy as my friend."

Surprised by her suggestion Long Lao Er accepted.

Currently both Long Lao Er and Xiao Huli were by the pond playing the house with Xiao Huli's ragdolls. Long Lao Er was playing the father and Xiao Huli was playing the mother.

"Hello dear, I'm home." Said an embarrassed Long Lao Er.

Long Lao Er had never felt so humiliated in all his entire life. He rather die than let anyone else know he was playing with ragdolls at his age. Not even when he played with Long Suanni did they ever played with ragdolls but he hadn't found out how he got into this array nor how could he exit.

"Hello dear how was your day? Do you want dinner? A bath? Or... ...me?" Innocently asked Little Fox.

Surprised by her question a vein appeared on Long Lao Er's head as he fastly answered.

"Dinner, dinner!!"

"Where the heck did that naughty Xiao Huli learned that phrase?" Thought Long Lao Er.

Disappointed by Long Lao Er's answer, Xiao Huli who was getting ready to strip to take a bath in the nearby pond gave Long Lao Er a couple of mud pies.

"How is the food honey?" Cheerfully asked Xiao Huli.

A forced smile appeared on Long Lao Er as he replied.

"Delicious dear."

A big smile appeared on Little Fox as she proceeded to lightly kiss Long Lao Er's head.

"Well it's time to wrap this up. It's getting late and I need to get back home."

Said Xiao Huli.

"Wait! I'm kinda lost here can you help me get out of here?"

Asked a worried Long Lao Er.

"Sure, follow me home. I'm sure mommy can help you."

Answered back Xiao Huli as she proceeded to get back home, followed by Long Lao Er.
