Chapter 6: Just like condemning King Zhou who was deceived by Daji.

The butler Zhang Shan brought a ‘Care Agreement’.

This contract looks very serious, roughly meaning that Yu He will take care of Fu Yunzheng’s daily life, including his diet and avoiding accidents when the night servants are not around.

Yu He skimmed through it and signed her name with a bold stroke.

Zhang Shan glanced at Fu Yunzheng.

Fu Yunzheng pinched his nose, “Yu He, don’t sign the contract immediately after you get it.”

Yu He’s surname ‘He’ sounds like the word for ‘crane’, with only a horizontal stroke missing below the bird, he stopped writing at the sound of Fu Yunzheng’s voice and looked at him, “What’s wrong?”

“I’ve seen you before,” Fu Yunzheng told Yu He briefly, “I wanted to help you get out of Jinsetai with my money. You don’t have to be mine just because of that…”

Even Fu Yunzheng didn’t know how to describe his relationship with Yu He for a moment.

Lover? Plaything? Concubine?

It seems like any description would be frivolous.

Fu Yunzheng skipped over those words and continued, “You can still back out now.”

Yu He vigorously shook his head. The happiest time he had this year was the two hours last night, and he really, really likes this job now!

Fu Yunzheng raised his hand, motioning for Zhang Shan to speak.

Zhang Shan bowed and unfolded the contract, explaining the traps in every word to Yu He.

Yu He started to zone out when he heard the second obligation of Party A.

If he were willing to study contracts seriously, he wouldn’t have been despised by his foster father like that.

“……These are all common tricks in contracts. For example, regarding the payment schedule, it is stipulated as follows: [20% of the total payment as a deposit, and the remaining balance to be paid within seven working days from the date of termination of this contract]. What do you see from this?”

Butler Zang Shi was very patient and persuasive.

Yu He didn’t expect to have to take a lesson in signing a contract. He was stunned and didn’t know how to answer. He couldn’t help but look at Fu Yunzheng for help.

On Fu Yunzheng’s face, there wasn’t much extra expression, he simply said, “Study well. Since you’ve chosen to follow me, besides money, I will also arrange for you to be the executive manager of the Fu Group. In the future, anyone who wants to sign a contract with the parent company will have to look at your face first.”

“No one would be willing to have their private affairs discussed by others.”

By keeping Yu He by his side, Fu Yunzheng is bound to reveal a lot of information to him. By giving him the position of executive manager, he aims to use his power to tie down Yu He and prevent him from revealing his secrets if they were to split up.

The stability of this kind of mutual benefit relationship is more trustworthy.

People feel more at ease when they have someone under their control- as the executive manager of the Fu company, Yu He is unlikely to casually discuss his boss’s private affairs.

Upon hearing this, Yu He immediately completed the last stroke of the character ‘鹤’: “Mr Fu, spare me and just give me the money.”

Fu Yunzheng pointed to the contract on the table and personally taught Yu He how to defend against schemes: “Then you won’t get the money.”

Yu He tilted his head.

This puzzled tilt reminded Fu Yunzheng of the rural dog that was kept for two days and then given away.

Fu Yunzheng said, “The contract states that the remaining payment will be settled within seven working days from the date of termination of the contract, but it does not specify when the contract will end.”

Despite signing a contract that may not result in him receiving the final payment, Yu He is not concerned and even laughs, focusing on an unusual point, “Are you trying to keep me for a lifetime?”

Young people always seem to be able to easily say these three words – ‘for a lifetime’.

Upon hearing these three words, it felt like a stab to Fu Yunzheng. He folded the contract in his hand and asked seriously: “Are you not interested in the position?”

To be able to work at the Fu Group, let alone as a manager, even if it was as a menial assistant, countless people would break their heads and rack their brains to get the job.

But to Fu Yunzheng’s surprise, Yu He lightly refused. He leaned back on the sofa, his eyes gradually emptying, and said, “I don’t like doing business.”

“What do you like?” asked Fu Yunzheng.

Yu He raised his arm and made a motion of shooting a basketball into the air, “Playing basketball.”

“That’s not what I’m asking,” said Fu Yunzheng frankly. “If you don’t ask for anything, I can’t keep you. Our interests must be aligned to be stable, otherwise, I can’t trust you to keep a secret.”

“Well, then just give me money,” Yu He said nonchalantly. “I like money.”

Fu Yunzheng couldn’t see any desire for money on Yu He’s face.

Choosing a companion without knowing their weaknesses is very dangerous.

But Yu He was just what he wanted.

Beautiful, lively, and with a particularly appealing sense of apathy, as if nothing in the world could affect Young Master Yu.

Proud little crane.

Fu Yunzheng liked to see the face of Yu He that seemed to not care about anything but was stained with desire because of him, which gave him a hidden sense of achievement.

It was even more enjoyable than acquiring a rival company.

After the car accident, Fu Yunzheng finally found some meaning in his life.

So he didn’t question the statement that Yu He likes money.

Fu Yunzheng folded the contract in his hand again, tore it apart from the middle, and said to Zhang Shan, “Uncle Zhang, draw up a new contract and give him the money.”

Zhang Shan followed the order and left, leaving only Yu He and Fu Yunzheng in the spacious living room.

The atmosphere became a bit strange again, with Yu He leaning on the sofa lost in thought and Fu Yunzheng sitting in his wheelchair.

Fu Yunzheng placed a blanket on his legs.

Yue He’s eyes were empty as he wondered why he needed to cover his legs with a blanket.

Is it because he feels cold?

Or because he doesn’t like others to see his injured leg?

Amid his wild thoughts, Yu He yawned.

“If you’re tired, you can go back to your room and sleep,” said Fu Yunzheng. “You don’t have to listen to my orders all the time. We can share a room once every three days. During the rest of the time, you can move freely. You only need to call me when I want to see you.”

Fu Yunzheng handed Yu He’s phone to him.

Yu He took his phone back without paying attention to the series of message alerts on the screen. “I don’t have your phone number yet,” he said.

Fu Yunzheng recited a string of numbers.

Yue He was a bit surprised: “Landline?”

“I don’t use my phone much,” Fu Yunzheng replied.

Yue He raised an eyebrow, neither believing nor disbelieving, and put the phone back in his pocket. “It’s a shame your mansion is so big, otherwise you could just call me and I’d come over.”

Fu Yunzheng turned his wheelchair around, facing away from Yu He: “I’m going to work in the study now. You don’t have to be restrained, you can go wherever you want, and the driver will take you there.”

Butler Zhang happened to come back with the contract, and Yu He signed it without even looking at it.

Fu Yunzheng turned his head and saw this scene, unable to resist pinching the bridge of his nose.

Yu He really wasn’t suited to be an executive.

‘Is this how all playboys behave nowadays?’

Butler Zhang handed the contract to Fu Yunzheng again, who subconsciously wanted to take a look, but Yu He had not even glanced at it…

Forget it, he picked up the pen and signed his name directly.

Butler Zhang was stunned on the spot.

He thought to himself that it was one thing for Yu He to sign without even looking, despite being penniless, but how could someone with your wealth sign a contract like this?

Butler Zhang has been with the Fu family for a long time and has watched Fu Yunzheng grow up. He is the person Fu Yunzheng trusts the most.

After the car accident that left Fu Yunzheng disabled, he locked himself in his room for a long time and refused to see anyone. Only Butler Zhang was able to talk to him for a few words.

When Fu Yunzheng handed the contract back, Butler Zhang gave him a disapproving look.

Like condemning King Zhou who was bewitched by Daji.

If Fu Yunzheng could be moved by this simple glance, then he would not be Fu Yunzheng.

Fu Yunzheng had no expression on his face as if he had just done something very ordinary.

Upon seeing this situation, Butler Zhang was secretly shocked and couldn’t help but re-evaluate the position of Yu He in Mr Fu’s heart.

He bent down slightly and handed a black card to Yu He.

The black card was attached with a convenience signature, which had a password that started with ’19’, indicating the year and month of Mr Fu’s birth.

Yu He found it very fresh and exclaimed, “So the big shot also uses his birthday as a password.”

Fu Yunzheng suddenly turned his wheelchair around and gave Butler Zhang a warning look.

Butler Zhang didn’t understand why Fu Yunzheng suddenly got angry.

After Fu Yunzheng left, Butler Zhang led and introduced the facilities in the villa to Yu He.

The villa is really big and fully equipped, with a gym, a home theatre, a KTV room, a bar, a game room, and even a piano room.

There are four collectible violins hanging on the wall.

Butler Zhang carefully introduced Mr Fu’s likes and dislikes to Yu He.

Mr Fu is finally willing to keep someone by his side, which is really rare. Zhang gently hinted to Yu He that Mr Fu cares a lot about his spinal injury.

“Mr Fu used to like playing the violin, but he rarely came back and treasured the instrument, so he never took it out. Now… the music room is abandoned,” said Zhang Shan.

Not only the music room is deserted. When Yu He went to the gym, he saw that some of the equipment had developed reddish-brown rust stains.

“There is also a swimming pool in the estate, but it’s a bit cold now in autumn,” Zhang Shan said. “When it gets warmer, you can lie in the pool and see Guanyun Mountain.”

Wait until it gets warmer?

“It’s just the beginning of autumn, it will be almost a year until the weather warms up. Will you still be here then, Mr Yu?”

Yu He smiled and understood the implied meaning behind Zhang Shan’s words.

Zhang Shan was afraid that he would be insincere and not genuinely stay by Fu Yunzheng’s side.

As he leaned indifferently against the soft chair, Yu He accepted the hot tea the housekeeper had brought over and lifted the cup in a toast to Zhang Shan. “Uncle Zhang, before Mr Fu brought me here, I was like a stray dog that everyone wanted to kick. I’m grateful to Mr Fu for choosing me.”

Although there was no hint of gratitude in Yu He’s demeanour, Zhang Shan couldn’t help but find the articulate and tactful young man quite likeable.

Perhaps Mr Fu simply liked Yu He’s wild and unyielding nature – the kind that says, ‘If the sky falls, I’ll be the first to lie down, and the heavens will only give me a coffin lid.’

Zhang Shan smiled and said, “Master Yu, you don’t look like a stray dog at all. Mr Fu likes you very much.”

“Before you arrived, Mr Fu was in a bad mood, so if he gets a bit moody, I hope you’ll bear with him,” Zhang Shan added in a friendly tone.

Who wouldn’t be in a bad mood when they had gone from being a high and mighty CEO to a wheelchair-bound patient? Yu He thought to himself.

He took a sip of the tea and couldn’t help but furrow his brow. He couldn’t stand the bitter taste.

“Never mind, it’s too bitter,” Yu He said to the housekeeper. “Auntie, can you get me a bottle of iced Coke instead?”

The housekeeper brought over the Coke, with ice cubes and lemon slices floating in the brown drink. Yu He thanked her and said to Zhang Shan, “Uncle Zhang, I’m going back to my room for a nap.”

Zhang Shan asked what he wanted for lunch, and Yu He replied that a bowl of noodles would do for his late-night snack.

Zhang Shan shook his head disapprovingly at the young man’s lifestyle, which was exactly as described on the internet: not sleeping at night and not waking up in the morning.

But he couldn’t help but feel that the house had become a little more youthful since Yu He arrived.

Yu He returned to his room and pulled the blackout curtains closed, instantly dimming the room to a level that was conducive to sleep.

Yu He glanced at his watch. After breakfast, signing the contract, and touring the villa, it was only 9:30 am. For him, it was like 3 o’clock in the morning, the perfect time to fall asleep. He opened the live stream on his phone, but couldn’t find his earphones under the pillow. It then dawned on him that he was not at home.

Come to think of it, he no longer had a home.

He put the phone next to his pillow, turned down the volume, and listened to the lively banter of the host. As he gradually drifted into a light sleep, he was lulled by the host’s witty jokes.
