11 Light of the Moon

The bets were made as the Elder announced the imminent start of the battle, so all attention was focused on the two fighters who were considering their new weapons.

[Training Wooden Blade (Common)

Physical Damage: 6

Durability: 100/100

A simple wooden blade, used by all beginners for training. Takes some serious skill to inflict damage]

'Six damage... Well, maybe it's for the best. I'm not very good at fighting, but I'm even worse at fencing, so it's worth trying to just knock him to the ground.' Zayne inwardly muttered looking at the blade, then glanced at Rolf.

"Hey, you can give up right away if you want. I don't want to hurt you for no reason." Rolf smirked and pointed his sword at Zayne.

Zayne didn't answer, he just stared into Rolf's eyes causing him to frown.

'Tsk... You think you can beat me?' Rolf became angry at Zayne's confident gaze, 'I don't know who killed the Black Wolf, but certainly not that cowardly fellow! The most he can do is fail even the easiest quest!'

Rolf was a beta tester and those who knew this respected him and asked him for advice. Rolf liked to feel superior to others, but absolutely hated it when someone thought they were better than him.

"Five seconds." Aron pronounced and complete silence fell as no one dared make a sound.

Rolf put his sword out in front of him, took a step back, and tilted his body slightly, he seemed to have some experience with the sword. Zayne, on the other hand, gripped the hilt of his blade tighter as a simple man and concentrated all his attention on his opponent.

"Begin!" Aron shouted with a wave of his hand.

Rolf knew he was stronger, so he rushed forward first to show his superiority even more.

"I'm here!" Rolf exclaimed bringing his sword down.

Zayne reacted quickly as this attack was no different for him than a swing of a fist, so he easily jumped aside.

'Fine! Now I can attack him!' Zayne stepped forward, aiming his blade toward Rolf's belly.

Rolf seemed to have made a mistake as Zayne now had the advantage, but despite that Rolf had a devious grin instead of confusion.

"How predictable!" Rolf drew his sword to himself, thus blocking Zayne's lunge, causing Zayne to miss as his eyes went wide.

At the same moment, Rolf turned sharply at ninety degrees with tremendous speed, thrusting his foot deep into Zayne's stomach. This kick looked as if Rolf had been practicing karate in real life for quite some time.

Zayne's mouth dropped wide open with a face twisted in pain as he was stunned.

"Hah, that was too easy." Rolf smirked before lowering to the ground holding on with his arms and dropping Zayne with a circular motion of his feet like he wasn't a fighter, but a street dancer.

Bam.

"Agh!" Zayne fell to the ground with a painful cough as the tip of the wooden sword was at his throat.

"Give up. The fight isn't over until you decide it is, or until I beat you so badly that you can't get to your feet." Rolf said arrogantly looking down at Zayne, "You couldn't take ten seconds, there's no way someone like you could kill a unique Black Wolf!"

The audience held their breath, it seemed the outcome of the fight was obvious as many of them had a fright on their faces as they bet on Zayne's victory, as Feto's sly smirk grew wider.

'Come on, there's only a little more left and I'll make good money off these fools!' Feto exclaimed inwardly, rubbing his palms together.

"Bastard..." Zayne's whisper broke out heading for the shocked Rolf's, "You dare say that in front of me with absolutely no embarrassment, your arrogance doesn't know any boundaries, does it?"

"Hmm? You don't seem to appreciate my kindness at all. In that case, I'll beat the shit out of you!" Rolf exclaimed angrily before swinging his sword, bringing it down on Zayne.

Zayne's pupils narrowed as he quickly clenched his palm into a fist and swung his hand, throwing the collected dust from the ground right in Rolf's face.

"What the hell...!" Rolf hastily closed his eyes as his sword slammed into the ground. Zayne swiftly rolled to the side and rose to his feet.

"Fuck! How dare you use such dirty tricks!" Rolf roared in furious, pointing his sword at Zayne with trembling.

Zayne smirked, "Dirty tricks? What do you expect me to do? Apparently, you know some kind of martial art and are better at games than I am, so I have to use everything to win, don't I?"

Rolf didn't answer, he just rubbed his dust-red eyes, shook his head, and took a few steps back. He quickly glanced at Aron and said, "Elder, you gave us a wooden weapon, but it's enough for me to give the insolent liar the wound he deserves!"

Whooooooooooosh.

He raised his sword above his head and for a moment his eyes flashed blue, then the wind rushed toward his weapon, quickly surrounding it and forming a small but rather powerful swirl around the sword.

"The Wind Slash!" Rolf exclaimed as he swung his sword with an ice-cold look.

As soon as the tip of the sword touched the ground, the vortex erupted outward, turning into a windblade heading toward Zayne with tremendous speed.

'No way... Magic? No, he applied a skill!' Zayne's eyes went wide and a shiver ran through his body as he hurriedly tried to dodge.

Though the windblade moved quickly, but in one direction, so Zayne hoped not to get wounded.

Crackle. Crackle. Crackle.

"Agh!" Zayne's face distorted in pain as the windblade lightly grazed him, leaving a deep cut on his right side as if from a very sharp sword.

"Ahahahahahaha! I bet you didn't even realize what just happened! Don't worry, next time my windblade will hurt you so badly you definitely won't be able to stand up!" Rolf grinned as his wicked chuckle spread around.

'Shit! That bastard got me! The developers sure overdid it with the sensitivity since it hurt like hell!' Zayne inwardly yelled with a painful look and touched the wound.

The blood on his palm seemed more than real as well as the light of the moon reflected off the drops with a bright gleam.

'Right... I have a skill, too... Maybe it's not as strong as his, but it's still a good opportunity to win!' Zayne gripped the hilt of the blade tightly as his eyes flashed a blue flash.

Zayne had never used a skill before, so he decided to simply repeat after his more experienced opponent.

"Moon Oblivion!" Zayne clenched his teeth, shouting the name of his only skill.

His blade was covered in a dense blue glow as Zayne's eyes seemed to get a little brighter, like two stars at night.

"Oh... So he has a skill, too!" Someone said with wide eyes.

"Yeah... It looks like it, but I doubt a simple weapon enhancement can be better than a windblade. He's just trying to do something." The guy with the short black hair shrugged carelessly.

The players weren't very impressed with Zayne's skill, but some had a completely different reaction as a sly smirk appeared on Harald's face.

"Pfft... You think that's going to stop me?" Rolf grimaced, pointed his sword at Zayne, and hissed, "You're just a lucky rookie, but there's no way you can reach my level!"

"The Wind Slash!" Rolf attacked again as the blade of wind headed straight for Zayne, it was just as fast as last time, but now Zayne was more than ready for it.

'Nice!' Zayne bounced sideways, raising a cloud of dust, stopping at high speed, then he immediately rushed forward.

Their height was about the same, but Zayne was lighter, so when he sprinted forward with all his might he was actually doing it fast.

"What...? How is it possible...?" Rolf's eyes went wide as in a heartbeat Zayne disappeared from his field of vision. As soon as he blinked, Zayne was right next to him, preparing to attack.

'No! There's no way I can lose to a simple newcomer, especially in public! It would be a real shame!' Rolf inwardly shouted as he swung his sword in a panic trying to defend himself.

They both had wooden weapons, so they couldn't cut through the enemy's weapon, however, magic was capable of many more amazing things than that as Zayne's blade in a blue flash went through Rolf's sword.

'Hah...?' Rolf stared lost at the part of the sword that flew aside as his eyes grew wider, the same reaction everyone else had.

'What...? He cut a wooden weapon with the same type of weapon...?! How is that possible!' Feto inwardly exclaimed clenching his fists in anger.

"Moonlight wasn't harmless at all, was it?" Zayne smirked, twisted the blade in his hand took it in reverse, and thrust it into Rolf's knee with all his might.

"ARGHHHH!!!" Moments later, Rolf's piercing scream shook the entire village, giving most people goosebumps, some even got so scared that they chose to cover their ears to avoid hearing it.

Bam.

Zayne didn't stop there, as his fist came down on Rolf's face with full force. It may not have been the hardest punch in the world, but it was enough to knock Rolf to the ground. He was stunned and Zayne took advantage of it, pressing his knees into his hands, pushing his full weight on them, then Zayne did what he'd thought of many times during their fight.

Bam. Bam. Bam.

Zayne's fists began to hail down on Rolf's face while drops of blood flew away, some of them falling on Zayne's face, which seemingly got crazier with each passing moment.

"You bastard! If you hadn't been so arrogant it wouldn't have come to this, we could have settled our argument by another method!" Zayne exclaimed, dropping another fist on Rolf's bloody face.

The eyes of the audience were wide open as absolutely no one could have expected that the shy Zayne would suddenly become so aggressive.

"Fuck!" Zayne's fist slammed into Rolf's face, "Fuck!" again, "Fuck!" and again.

"You just picked up the corpse of a beast you didn't actually kill, as I did!" Zayne shouted directly into Rolf's face who already had trouble understanding what was going on, "You should have admitted it right away, but instead you kept lying and trying to humiliate me in every possible way! I've had enough of this crap!"

Zayne punched a few more times before he finally stopped, it seemed like he was just tired as he breathed heavily lifting his head up and looking up at the bright blue moon in the night sky.

"I confess..." Rolf's faint voice rang out as he touched Zayne, "Please stop, I'll tell the truth... enough..."

Some spectators were surprised as Harald nodded meaningfully, he seemed to have guessed it all along. Aron, extended his arm forward meaning to stop their fight which was no longer making sense.

"I don't give a fuck." Zayne whispered, but his voice like a piercing click entered everyone's mind, then he clenched his hand into a fist that was covered in a dense layer of blue energy and with all his might slammed it into Rolf's face.

Crackle.

Shreds of blood flew apart as Rolf gradually turned to ash, quickly disappearing with a flash of light.

Zayne breathed a sigh of relief, leaning back as though after a hard fight, and his body turned into a blue beam as Zayne left the game.

The last thing the viewers saw was an unusual coin with a special aura coming down to Zayne, seemingly from the sky, but it disappeared with him.
