35 Rewards

In Fallen Fate Online there were many ways to get stronger, but obviously one of the most effective ways was to defeat strong enemies. Players received rewards for doing so, usually a Title or an item, but sometimes a veritable waterfall of rewards would appear in front of whoever did something truly significant.

"Damn, aren't there too many rewards for defeating one opponent? At this rate, everyone will have a hundred Titles in a week!" Zayne complained slightly shaking his head, "How does one stand out from the rest in such a case? Argh, okay, I'll think about it later."

Zayne was glad to get the rewards, he just realized that when something became too much, it stopped being valuable. Maybe if Zayne had known that most players hadn't even received one Title yet, his opinion on the matter would have changed.

[First One Who Killed Terror Grade Being

You have done something unbelievable, your victory will go down in the history of the world and will be remembered by millions of people.

All enemies of Terror Grade and below will now deal 5% less damage. Chance of reward from Unique Creatures increased by 10%]

"Hmm... When I defeated the One-Eyed, I got a similar bonus. So that means I get 15% more of something valuable now, right? Well, that's quite a lot, at least to begin with." Zayne muttered with a thoughtful look before moving on to the next Title.

[Conqueror of the Chaos Hearth: Upon entering the territory of the Chaos Hearth, all your stats will increase by 5%. Your highest stat will be further increased by 5%.]

"This Title is like a weakened version of the aura from Fate's Buff. The highest stat, I'll have to think about that..." Zayne sighed moving on.

[The One Who Seeks Fear (Special)

Your special attitude towards fear has already led you to several victories, but this is only the beginning of your long journey. You may be the only one who tries to understand the fear from this side.

If the opponent cannot cause you true terror then you will not be affected by its negative effects which aim at lowering your stats or numbness.

Now you get 10% more experience from all sources].

"What the hell...?" Zayne's eyes went wide as he realized how powerful in perspective this buff was, "Ahahaha! Tree-Eyed and the others can't make me weaker now, but that's nothing compared to the extra experience! Thanks to this, I can definitely get ahead of the others!"

Zayne had a hard time figuring out how well he was doing compared to the other players, but he was familiar enough with the math to know that 10% was a lot, especially for a resource, like an Experience.

"Damn, I didn't expect these Titles to be this good, I didn't try so hard to win for nothing!" Zayne exclaimed in excitement as he looked at the bloodstain on the ground and his eyes went wide, "Wait... Did I lose it?"

Zayne opened his inventory in a hurry only to have his face go pale.

"Fuck! Where are my weapon?! If the Three-Eyed is gone then it should have fallen out and been lying on the ground, shouldn't it?!" Zayne exclaimed in anger as he stomped his foot, "What am I supposed to fight with now?!"

Zayne's only weapon was the blade that he got at the start, he didn't know where to get a new weapon, also he didn't have any money at all.

"By the way... Titles aren't all I got!" Zayne's eyes went wide as he waved his hand.

Whoooooooooooooosh.

A stream of red flame appeared in front of Zayne, as a crimson cube slowly emerged from it.

"Aron said that Treasure Boxes vary in color depending on their origin, so this will be my first one from the Chaos, right?" Zayne muttered looking at the half-open eye sign on the cube top.

Zayne sighed, and put his palm on the cube, making it glow brightly, then a wave of flame burst from the cube that seemed to purposely avoid Zayne, afraid to hurt him, only the tips of his hair charred with quickly extinguished sparks.

A short sword appeared in place of the red cube, hovering in the air, waiting for its new owner to pick it up. It had a sharp, perfectly straight black blade, a white triangular guard with an image of three eyes with vertical pupils, and a red hilt.

"Three-Eyed, have you really decided to be reborn and become my new weapon? Hah, that would be ironic, but I hope no one bothers the dead." Zayne grinned as he gripped the hilt of his new weapon tightly.

[Three-Eyed Whistle (Epic)

Physical Damage: 60

Magical Damage (Blood Aspect): 30

Weapon born with the aid of the power of Chaos and the last moments of the life of a creature consumed by fear, though it itself should have scared the others.

-Passive Skill - Bloodrage

When another creature's blood lands on a blade, the damage is raised by 3%, the effect increases for each new creature.

If the blood of the owner gets on the blade, the damage is increased by 10%].

"Well... Though I don't know much yet, it seems like a pretty good weapon, though its passive skill strains me, it sounds too creepy." Zayne muttered scratching his cheek with a confused expression before moving on to the final reward.

Chaos Hearth was part of the true power of the Chaos that it sent into this world to infect it in response to Fate's Blessing, so after destruction, the remaining energy took some form.

Whoooooooosh.

In Zayne's hands appeared a red book with a picture of an eye, just like the one on the Treasure Box. Zayne didn't know exactly what to do, so he simply opened the book. On the pages were many ancient symbols that lit up in bright flames and flew into Zayne's head in a single burst, filling his mind with new knowledge. Zayne had felt this once before when Gael touched him.

[You have a new skill!]

[Phantom Flash (Active)

Direct your mana to your back to create a silhouette of scarlet wings. You'll have one swing to achieve tremendous speed, destroying everything in your path like a deadly whirlwind.]

"Wow, that sounds cool, hopefully soon I'll be able to test how it works in practice." Zayne muttered shaking his head from side to side trying to come to his senses as the flow of information gave him a bit of a headache.

Zayn looked around, sighed, and walked over to the massive stalactite that killed him as well as Three-Eyed. He touched it and with a bitter smile muttered, "I was lucky you were above me at that moment, it was painful, but death and victory are better than just death by sharp claws."

Zayne turned around, directing his gaze to the dark path that was the exit from the caves, "Well, it looks like it's time to go back. I wonder what changed while I was gone?"

His silhouette gradually disappeared into the darkness, which did not frighten him at all, unlike Elin, for whom being alone in the dark was a true nightmare.

Zayne didn't know it, but if someone were to walk toward him now, they would see his bright azure eyes shining in the darkness like two blue stars, deep and boundless.
