Fate Online: Shadow

216 Fate loves to play around

Michael parked the car beside a 7-Eleven store, before making his way inside.

His car quickly drew the attention of the people around the place. After all, the bastard is a brand new Lexus LC, and especially when he got down from it, it was because the people around him were surprised for a bit to see a person with celebrity levels like appearance.

"What the...is he a celebrity?"

"He could be...but I've never seen him before though"

"Why don't you try and go asking him? After all, you're the boldest here from out of us"

"No way, this kind of person doesn't lack women throwing themselves at him. I'd rather not embarrassed myself by going out there and try to flirt with him"

Michael quickly frowned when he heard them whispering and looking at him as he made his way inside the store.

In fact, Michael had already noticed the changes of his physical appearance which really weirded him out at first but shrugged it off in the end, thinking that there's nothing more weirder than being thrown back in time from where everything all started.

Michael quickly headed to where the drinks are stored and got himself a bottle of soda, before making his way over towards the cashier.

He suddenly halted in his tracks and raised an eyebrow when he saw a familiar person behind the counter, who's currently busy tallying the purchases of the customers.

'Isn't that...Chelsea? Why is she working here?'

Michael tilted his head in confusion and doubt, before continuing in his steps forward.

A minute later, it was finally Michael's turn, "This one please"

"Michael? Hi!" Chelsea looked up to his face and quickly recognized him even with the changes in his physical appearance.

"Ohhh, Hi!" Michael showed a wary smile while acting shock that the woman in front of him knows who he is.

"It's me, Chelsea"

Chelsea looked at Michael from head to toe with a look of disbelief on her face.

"Yeah, I just remembered you just now" Michael gave a dry laugh as he really didn't want to talk to this woman who had rejected him multiple times back in the day. That was why he was acting like he didn't even recognize her earlier.

"It was nice seeing you again" Chelsea smiled as she gazed straight into Michael's eyes, but she was immediately disappointed when she saw the gaze that Michael was giving her wasn't the same as back then.

"Yeah, me too," Michael said.

"How about we catch up for another day as there are also others waiting in the line behind me, yeah?" Michael said as he gave the people waiting behind him an apologetic smile.

"Ahh!? Of course" Chelsea said flustered and gave the other customers an apologetic smile.

"That would be two dollars and ninety-nine cents," Chelsea said.

Michael nodded, then handed her five dollars from his pocket.

Chelsea handed him his change and quickly took a pen out and wrote a string of numbers on his receipt before handing it over to Michael who just smiled at her in response.

"Uhmmm…call me," Chelsea said as her eyes darted around.

"Sure" Michael just smiled and pocketed the receipt before making his way out of the convenience store.

Michael stepped out of the store and slowly opened the bottle of soda in his hands and took a huge gulp out of it, before releasing a long satisfied sigh.

'Fate really loves to make fun of me huh?'

Michael thought with a bitter smile on his face, it was because he didn't expect to meet Chelsea here of all places.

After all, the last time he heard any news of her was that she had met someone from another country and started living with her boyfriend.

'It seems they broke up, huh?' Michael thought as he took another sip of his soda before he started making his way to the car.

On the other hand.

"So he just went there to buy...a bottle of soda?" Tom said, feeling a bit frustrated inside.

"Don't mind the small details. Get a move on and follow him"

"Yes sir," Tom said as he quickly started the car and followed Michael all the way into their apartment building.

Michael quickly drove past inside the underground parking lot and parked the car there, before making his way towards the elevator.

'It seems they are gonna watch this place all the way till morning again huh' he thought as the elevator arrived on the third floor.

Michael quickly went inside the apartment and slowly made his way into his room. He placed the guitar case under his bed, before taking his bath towel and made his way into the bathroom just outside of his room and took a quick shower.

Ten minutes later, he came out looking really fresh out of the bathroom.

Showing his streamlined body full of well-built muscles, his body was somewhat thin but he was seriously packing in muscles, the definition of a lean and cut bodybuilder.

Michael dried himself off for three minutes before boarding into his gaming capsule and entering the game.

Shua!

Michael's avatar appeared at the same place from where they had left off. He looked around and quickly noticed a figure in the distance fighting a monster on her own.

He quickly realized that it was Solitary Tempest trying to kill a cow looking monster called Ironhide Bull, which probably got separated from its herd or got lured over.

Michael immediately darted over and quickly crossed over a hundred meters in a span of a few seconds, faster than even the title holder of the fastest man on the planet.

Solitary Tempest was about to attack him when she quickly realized that it was Shadow, whom she had been waiting for quite a long while now to get here.

"Took you long enough to be here!" Solitary Tempest angrily yelled at him, while she pulled her bow back and struck the monster's head with an arrow covered in ice.

"I know, sorry about that!" Michael yelled back towards her as he jumped on the back of the Ironhide Bull and stab it on the back of its neck, resulting in a huge blood-red damage counter above its head.

Moo!

The monster started thrashing around in anger when it felt that there was a person riding on its back and it even started ignoring Solitary Tempest's attacks as it tried to throw Michael off of its back.

"That's it! Hold on to it and don't let go!"

Solitary Tempest yelled as she started to slowly pull his bow back, and while she was doing that, a flaming arrow started to materialize on her bow.

And when the bow finally reached its limits, Amanda let go of her fingers and the flaming arrow shot towards the Ironhide Bull like a flaming meteor!

Swoosh!

Boom!

"F*ck!!!"

Michael cursed as he got himself blown away from the impact of the skill and that he slammed onto the ground started tumbling along the ground.

"Really!?"

Michael yelled in anger while dusting himself off, while Solitary Tempest just showed him a snicker and said, "What? It's not like you even received any damage from that"

On the other hand, the Ironhide Bull finally died and dropped a couple of meat and items littered along the ground.
