Game of Thrones: I Became a Crown Prince For a Day

Chapter 24: Shiliu's swordsmanship

Chapter 24 Shiliu’s Sword Skills

Journey has always been a symbol of the prosperity of the kingdom, and many nobles are keen on it.

When Rhaegar arrived at the scene, the audience was already buzzing with people.

At a glance, he saw his father on the high platform and approached him briskly.

As I walked closer, I realized that there were people sitting around my father.

Viserys sat on the throne, with Prime Minister Leonor on the right and his uncle Daemon on the left.

Rhaenyra sat at the head of Leonor's throne, which was not an insult to her status as heir.

I don’t know if last night’s banquet was a success, but Viserys always had a smile on his face.

Seeing Rhaegar arriving, he smiled and waved: "Come here quickly. You had an early rest last night. You have to spend time with your father today."

"The bachelor said that children should go to bed early and get up early so that their bodies will grow faster."

Rhaegar defended himself and came to Viserys very honestly.

Hold him in his arms and sit on his lap.

Rega generously enjoyed his father's love and picked up a plate of fruit on the table.

Rhaenyra below noticed his empty wrist and asked with a smile: "Why don't you see that bracelet? Don't you like it very much?"

“It’s too big and it’s inconvenient for me to wear it.”

Rhaegar dealt with it casually.

The bracelet is inconvenient to carry in its normal state, and can easily arouse suspicion after shrinking.

Rhaegar hid the bracelet in the incubator containing the dragon eggs until he could find an excuse to use it later.

No one cared about this little episode and waited for the tournament with peace of mind.

In order to express yesterday's bad temper, the events of mounted shooting and melee are cancelled.

Let’s get straight to the point, the duel!

Two players enter the duel field separately.

One of them is naturally a Dornish youth.

He is a well-deserved protagonist today.

The other one greatly disappointed the audience.

 A short, curly-haired swordsman.

Even he didn't even wear armor, only wearing a light leather armor.

 “It’s Shiliu Freer!”

Rhaegar, who had a wide field of vision, immediately revealed the identity of the curly-haired swordsman.

Viserys cast a curious look: "Rhaegar, have you seen any of the swordsmen in the field?"

Rhaegar nodded: "We had tea together yesterday. He is a wandering swordsman with good skills, and he wants to be loyal to me."

Speaking of this, Rhaegar couldn't help but smile.

Viserys frowned slightly and rubbed his chin with his hand: "Let me guess, you must have not promised him?"

“Yeah, I won’t trust a dangerous guy with unknown origins.”

Rhaegar ate a red grape and answered casually.

“You did the right thing. I got some news this morning that I can share with you.”

Viserys ruffled Rhaegar's hair and winked at Leonor.

Leonor stood up, took out a small piece of paper and read:

“Hiliu Freer was born into a small noble family in Braavos. He joined a believer organization as an adult and often performed dangerous missions.”

“Two months ago, this person assassinated a big shot in Braavos. He was wanted throughout the country and smuggled himself to Westeros in advance.”

“Half a month ago, I pretended to be a wandering dancer, gained the trust of a lord’s daughter, and came to King’s Landing in a carriage.”

“Yesterday afternoon, during the banquet time after Prince Daemon returned, he signed up to participate in the tourney and proposed a duel with Diga Orleans.”

Telling the origin of Shiliu in one breath, Leonor took a sip of red wine to moisten his throat and glanced at Damon opposite him without any trace.

Dimon looked calm and had an attitude that it had nothing to do with him.

Rhaegar listened to everything quietly, sincerely admiring Lord Leonor's intelligence ability.

Viserys saw the shock of his eldest son and smiled happily: "I will teach you a truth, there is no airtight wall in the world, honor and faith are the destination of the strong."

 “I remember, father.”

Rhaegar listened obediently to his father's teachings.

Seeing him be so obedient, Viserys was greatly satisfied with his vanity.

Decided to teach the eldest son some ways of doing things in the future.

"The duel has begun." Rhaenyra's clear voice interrupted the exchange between father and son.

In the duel arena, the two players took their respective positions.

As the referee blew the horn, the Dornish youths circled Xiliu with guns and flowers on their arms, looking for flaws.

Compared to yesterday, the young man from Dorne was much quieter. He wondered if he was frightened by Colachu.

Xi Liu stood sideways, holding a one-handed sword in his hand, standing quietly on the spot.

“Little dwarf, who asked you to come and die?”

Dornish youths habitually sneered and taunted, with the intention of irritating Shiliu.

Hiriu carried one hand behind his back and spoke casually: "Everyone will die! But I think I haven't got the time yet."

“Really? But I saw your death day.”

The Dornish youth slowly approached with a gun.

“Talking about death will bring about death, and maybe you will die.”

Hiriu always maintains the movement of holding the sword with one hand.

“Little swordsman, I will cut off your legs and turn you into a real half-man.”

The Dornish youth struck first, stabbing out a tentative shot.

His movements were very fast, and the spear looked like a long snake.

However, Shiliu acted faster.

Before the tip of the spear came close, Shiliu hit the barrel of the spear with his sword, causing the spear to deviate from its trajectory.

Immediately afterwards, he strode forward with his right foot and slashed the Dornish youth's elbow with his sword.

The blow was successful, but Xiliu did not pursue it. He retracted his feet and continued to stand.

In the angry eyes of the Dornish youth, he wrote lightly:

"Short? When your head falls to the ground, you will realize my stature."

Stimulated by the words, the Dornish youth was furious, but caution told him to be patient and not to act rashly.

For a time, the duel ground reached a stalemate.

Hiliu stood where he was. The Dornish youths did not dare to attack and surrounded him.

Such a lackluster duel cannot be recognized by the audience, and will inevitably attract scolding.

Urged the two of them to take action quickly.

Either the curly-haired swordsman kills the Dornishman's head.

Either the Dornishmen kill the curly-haired swordsman as soon as possible, and replace the Dornishman with a better knight to chop off the Dornishman's head.

Listening to the noise coming from outside the field, Xiliu sighed: "I originally wanted you to live a little longer, but the withering of life is as ruthless as running water."

“Stop talking nonsense, I am not afraid of a dwarf who is not as tall as a horse.”

In spite of the insults, the Dornish youth still did not take the initiative to attack.

Xi Liu snorted softly: "You are wrong. My height is longer than the horse's back. I have measured it."

After the words fell, before the Dornish youth could react, Shiliu had already moved.

His legs were like riding the wind, quickly approaching the Dornish youth.

The Dornish youth was frightened, and with one move of his spear, he swept through the entire army and forced them to retreat.

                                     ——

Xi Liu withdrew from the range of the gun body, knocked the back of the sword against the barrel of the gun, and smashed the tip of the gun to the ground.

Lifting his foot to step on the tip of the spear, Shiliu took advantage of the short disarming period to quickly raise his sword and stab it into the chest of the Dornish young man.

                                                 ——

A mouthful of blood spurted out, and the Dornish youth instantly lost the ability to resist.

He loosened his grip on the spear and stared at Shiliu in disbelief. He didn't understand why he died so hastily.

 “You…sneak attack…”

The Dornish youth glared at Xiliu unwillingly, but was kicked to the ground by him.

He pulled back the Dornish youth’s hair and exposed his neck. Shiliu’s face was filled with regret:

“Your teacher only taught you skills, but didn’t tell you to cherish your life.”

After saying that, he raised his iron sword high and chopped off the head of the Dornish youth.
