In the D/Z SAGA, the protagonist Kelters’ decisions significantly affect the endings.

Throughout his first year, Kelters studies general subjects, builds friendships, and lays the groundwork for his future. And, as he transitions into his second year, he chooses his major.

Swordsmanship. Magic.

Each department has two heroines, and including the hidden heroine, there are a total of five main heroines.

The ending can dramatically change depending on the relationship Kelters forms with the heroines and the choices he makes.

For example, let’s say he chooses the magic department and selects Eve as the heroine. Even though he’s in the magic department, if he focuses on developing physical strength and stamina, he eventually becomes a magical swordsman. As a result, he becomes a sword that protects Eve, and if he chooses to graduate from the student council with her, the most common happy ending of ‘the Princess’s Knight’ can be seen, where they continue to stay together and protect Eve in the future.

Also, there is a destruction ending. If you die halfway through, it is game over. The heroine with all the bad endings, even to think about it is dizzying.

Therefore, the path that Kelters walks is quite important to me.

Is it because he’s the protagonist of the game I played and I’m attached to him?

No. That’s not relevant. The problem is that there is no one to solve the threat looming over the entire academy.

But, what can I do?

I’m Wolfram with a stamina stat of only 2.

I could create items to help him, but I have no intention of doing that.

I can’t even take care of myself, how could I help someone else?

Kelters is a genius and the incarnation of light. He can handle anything.

“So, cheer up, Kelters.”

I’ll just watch from afar.

You guys carry on with the story.

I’ll run a convenience store.

I have to do five push-ups today before I go to bed.

I hope I don’t get muscle soreness.

***

The next day, Aila came to visit.

She looked displeased, so I quietly made her a shake.

Considering she’s one of the hellish bosses even as a joke, if I make a mistake, I could be stabbed by a black obsidian spear.

Looking around, there are a lot of people using spear magic. I need to be careful.

Anyway, I taught her how to drink it, and then she finally loosened up.

“What’s going on?”

“I’ve been chosen as the ‘education’ officer this time.”

“Education officer… Oh, I see.”

“Huh, don’t you think it’s a really bad habit? If we succeed in rebellion, we should get rid of this first, don’t you think?”

Education.

If you specify the term ‘education’ at this time, it has a slightly different meaning.

It’s not the knowledge a professor bestows on a student, but what a senior imparts to a junior.

The senior teaches the freshman about the greatness of Jephryn by showing their growth in only two years in a mock duel in front of the entire student body.

Why does the third-year runner-up do this? To win overwhelmingly.

Why doesn’t the third-year top student do it? Because if the first-year student wins by any chance, it would disgrace Jephryn’s honor.

It can’t help but be a great policy in many ways.

This year’s freshman top student is ‘Kelters’

And the third-year runner-up is ‘Aila Tristar’

In the original, Kelters gave Aila a punch in front of the whole school, saving the face of the first year, and many people, including Eve, began to pay attention to Kelters, a commoner who struck a blow to ‘that runner-up, Aila Tristar’.

Originally, it’s an event where you are bound to lose, but as usual, if you used a bug-like play, you could also defeat Aila. But it didn’t change the story.

“Wolfram.”

Aila called my name while I was deeply thinking about the original event.

“Wolfram. Are you listening, Wolfram?”

“Hmm? Yes, I am.”

“Then, remember that the pre-paid rent from Phil lasts until next month. From the month after next, you have to pay the rent.”

What brought up such a dreadful story out of nowhere?

“Is that so?”

“It’s one million rin a month. You know that, right?”

This place charges a deposit of 8 million and a monthly rent of 1 million? Isn’t this a scam?

I should consider relocating my convenience store.

No. Even if I leave here, there’s nowhere else to go. Remember how hard it was to get in here. A million rin a month is a bargain.

“It’s not difficult.”

“Yes. Honestly, it does feel expensive.”

“Well…”

“But I’ll charge it. Hehe.”

Is she teasing me?

“If it’s you who has spread the wings of rebellion, you won’t worry about just a million rin. I could let it go, but this will someday become one black feather to decorate your wings.”

What does that mean?

“Hehe, I’m excited. I wonder how secretly, magnificently, grandly, and beautifully you’ll blow the horn of rebellion.”

I won’t blow such a thing.

“This… did you say it was a strawberry shake? Your dark shadow hidden in this sweet drink. But everyone will be intoxicated by the taste and aroma of this drink. Hehe.”

You seem to be intoxicated already.

“By the way. The freshman welcome party is soon. Wolfram.”

“Didn’t we already talk about that?”

“Did we? I forgot. Hm, hm. Wolfram?”

“What is it.”

“What are you planning to do at the welcome party?”

“I’ll open a stall.”

“You know you can only operate a stall for eight hours a day due to the anti-monopoly rule, right? What will you do when that’s over?”

“I don’t know.”

The freshman welcome party.

Should I tell her this is not the time for me to worry about such things?

I hesitated for a moment. Should I let Aila grow to hate Kelters? Or should I make sure she wins perfectly?

In this situation, it’s not about the main plot, but focusing on Wolfram.

In my favor. For my benefit only.

Let’s see. If Aila beats Kelters, but is deeply offended, she’ll constantly torment Kelters.

And when that doesn’t work, she completely turns around and causes a riot in the third act, rebelling and all…

Hmm…

Then wouldn’t it be more advantageous for me if Aila wins perfectly?

If she loses to Kelters and becomes petty, the chance of a spear being thrown into my own belly might increase.

Let’s see. Suppose I advise her to beat Kelters perfectly…

I started to think about how to make this advice not strange.

Information and thoughts are my weapons.

“Aila Tristar.”

“Yes?”

“You said it. You want to see my wings.”

“That’s right. I’m looking forward to it.”

“Well, can you really see my wings?”

“What do you mean?”

“Do you deserve to, is what I’m saying.”

“Are you questioning my qualifications? I’m the runner-up in the third grade. I’m Aila Tristar, known as the Black Crystal of the Magic Department.”

“In the three hundred years of Jephryn’s history, there have been 300 runner-ups in the third grade.”

“Ugh.”

“Top-notch candies, cream bread, strawberry shakes. These are luxuries that never existed in Jephryn. Now, have I not proven my uniqueness in three hundred years?”

“Ugh…!”

She has no choice but to admit it.

Aila has a strong pride, and if you gently scratch it like this, she will easily yield.

“What are you trying to say.”

“Before you mention my wings, clean up what’s in front of you.”

“What’s in front of me?”

“I heard the freshman class top student this year is quite unique. A commoner, yet shows incredible talent.”

“……So what? Do you think I’m going to lose?”

“No, not at all. But if you can’t win perfectly, that will also be recorded as a disgrace to Tristar.”

At my words, Aila clenched her teeth.

Then she slammed her desk with a bang! And placed a small ticket that was in her fist.

【Jephryn Academy Freshman Welcome Party Two-Day Admission Ticket (for two)】

As I was staring at it, Aila crossed her arms and scoffed at me.

“Okay. I hope you watch from a distance as I blow off such a commoner in one shot. Got it?”

I nodded silently.

Then Aila drank up the shake with a clatter, let out a big cheer, and left the convenience store.

Isn’t she going to pay for the shake?

By the way.

“···Why is the ticket for two?”

I’m full of things I don’t know.

***

After Aila left, I moved quickly.

This freshman welcome party is one of the few festivals of Jephryn throughout the year.

Vendors are free to do business if they apply, and there are many shops that establish a regular customer base here.

Is there a lack of snacks in Jephryn? Then please visit Wolfram! A prepared convenience store owner! I am ready anytime! I needed to prepare for this.

“···Bean shake. Cream bread. Candy. They’re all fine, but something is lacking for a signature product.”

Something missing to be a killer move.

My convenience store is in a corner somewhere, paying a whopping rent and a security deposit of eight million, and therefore, we must have a killer move to attract customers.

Icon, identity, and signature.

This is where you make it! You can only taste it here! Whether it’s a menu, or even if it’s not food, if there are stunning craft items or office supplies, things like that.

But candy and cream bread are uncertain. Smoothies are okay, but beans have a collection limit.

“Then should I try baking bread. I’ve worked part-time at a bakery, so I can make it to some extent.”

If you put cream on good bread, it can be enough to be a signature.

But.

“Cough, cough. You. You, you, you!!”

Just making the dough was so hard that my arms were about to cramp.

“Is this… my limit? I am, I am weak. Laughably so.”

Just tasting the few menus I made filled my stomach.

In despair at my own incompetence, I retreated into a corner.

However, I was not even allowed to retreat.

“Ugh.”

My stomach was churning, and if I stayed like this, I thought something big would happen.

I realized I needed to move somehow to stimulate digestion.

With that thought, I quickly got up and walked out of the convenience store.

In order to survive, I had to digest.

It had been a long time since I had wandered the academy grounds.

I decided to take a walk for a change of pace, heading not to the magic department, but the knight department instead.

“Can I even sell…with this stamina?”

I wondered if I would collapse from exhaustion if I had to cook and sell food. Could I last two hours?

I was going crazy trying to figure out what to do with this darned stamina, without any immediate solutions in sight.

“Whew.”

I had been walking around the academy for thirty minutes and was so tired I sat down on a park bench.

As if I were a patient who had just risen from a hospital bed after many years.

I leaned against the bench and looked up at the sky. The blindingly blue sky and sun seemed inexplicably irritating.

“Ah, uh, uuuuh…”

Suddenly, I heard the sound of a scream, as if someone was running out of breath.

I covered my mouth, thinking I had made the sound, but no, it wasn’t me. Wolfram, the flame man, hadn’t burned out yet. That was a relief.

Then where?

“Uh…uh…”

Not far away, in the middle of a grass field, ‘that’ had fallen down.

What on earth was that thing doing?

“If you eat that…if you realize that nature’s combination is like that…you can’t…eat the grass…or the dust…”

It was Nephtarian.

Nephti was lying with her head in the grass, seeming to be in some distress, muttering something.

“What are you doing?”

At my question, she looked up at me with hazy eyes. She seemed out of focus and distraught; she must have been starving for days.

“Again, it’s you. The memory of what I ate then remains, and now I even see hallucinations. My opponent is known as the most evil person in the academy. Is this also a trial given to me…”

“I asked what you were doing, Nephti.”

“I must be really crazy. Now I can even converse with a hallucination. Please go away, Wolfram’s false image. I will never succumb to temptation.”

“I’m not a hallucination.”

“Huh?”

At my words, Nephti’s eyes gradually began to clear. And then she fully registered that it was me.

“Is it really you, Prince Wolfram?”

“Yes. It’s me, the genuine Wolfram.”

“I’m…I’m sorry.”

“So, what were you doing?”

“I…I was meditating.”

“With your head on the ground, in such distress?”

“Yes…yes.”

“All the while looking as if you haven’t eaten in days?”

“Yes…that’s true. All to uphold justice and not succumb to evil.”

“I see…”

I nodded my head. Well, keep up the good work, I guess.

Just as I was about to turn away, a small voice stopped me.

“Um, excuse me…”

“What is it?”

“That bread I ate before…how much would it cost to buy it?”

“Hmm? It’s not too expensive, but do you have the money?”

“Uh…your words hurt, but they’re true. I used all my money to send home, so now I have…only grass and dust…uh…”

Nephti was in distress, and I chuckled quietly.

It seemed like there might be a win-win situation for both of us.

“You never know. If you help me out again, maybe you’ll get that bread.”

“What do you need help with? I won’t lend a hand to anything evil.”

“It’s nothing much. I need help developing and selling products for the freshman welcome party.”

“So you’re asking me to help with your festival? The notorious embezzler of the academy…?”

Nephti was torn.

She was a third-year student and knew all too well about my tyrannical rule from the year before.

Oh well, there’s no other way.

I made a big decision and extended my hand to her.

“The hourly wage is 10,000 rin. If you work overtime, you get 1.5 times. I can at least give you a cream bun for a meal.”

“Death before dishonor. I will fulfill my duty.”

And so, the knight of justice fell into corruption.
