Hero System! Transported to Another World

Alex and Midnight nodded when they heard Ryan. They took out their phone to see a message stating Ryan's number. They watched as Ryan walked out of the meeting room. The two also slowly got up and followed Ryan out of the meeting room. 

As they got out, they saw Gold standing in front of Ryan. His face was red with anger, "What are you saying!?" 

Ryan looked calm in front of the angry Gold and said, "You don't need to worry about anything. We need the awakened out there doing their jobs. That's it. We'll have to deal with the top dogs ourselves so until the situation calms down you'll be the only active S rank in the city." 

Gold looked annoyed, he noticed Alex and Midnight but ignored them. "What about Hana? Isn't she in the city as well?! Does she get special treatment in this situation as well? Doesn't she need to do her job?" 

Ryan smiled and shook his head, "Hana isn't getting special treatment, in fact, you're the one who is��� Hana is on an important mission on her own, a mission you might not be able to do because of your uncontrollable powers. That's all to it. The other S ranks are already in their respective cities or areas all over the country. Hell, their areas are larger than the city. You're the one who gets the smallest area in the country." 

Gold, still annoyed nodded and walked off. He looked at Alex with a slight hint of anger but it was only for a split second. 

Ryan sighed when he saw Gold walk away, "He should really work on his anger." Ryan walked away as he once again bid farewell to Alex and Midnight. 

Alex nodded and looked at midnight, "What do we do now?" He wanted to return to his room and finally look at everything he gained from the battles from today. 

Midnight looked at Alex and smiled, "We go home and relax for the rest of the day. It's around 4 pm right now and we haven't had lunch so I'll just go and cook some lunch. I assume there isn't any food in the house so I'll make some for you as well."

Alex smiled and replied, "That'd be amazing. I guess today, I get to relax and process my entire life haha." He joked. 

Midnight laughed with Alex as the two slowly walked towards the reception. As they headed towards the exit, they heard a voice call from behind, "Wait!" 

The two quickly turned back to see a panicked receptionist call for them, "You two need to head to Master Shard's Office quickly. He says it's important." 

Confused, Alex looked at Midnight who smiled, "Ryan's known by the public as Shard. Many awakened here have names made up by the citizens. Like when Vis introduced himself he said that you could call him Vis or Shadow. Vis, is his real name, and Shadow is his name given by the public. But let's leave that for now, it seems like something big happened for us to be called again." 

The two rushed towards Ryan's office to see his face a bit panicked, "You two, When the corpses of the dead reapers were taken, All of them had their crystals in their chest, right?" Ryan asked in a serious tone. 

Midnight nodded, "Yeah, all of the crystals were imbedded in their chests, is there a problem?" The two were confused by Ryan's question as they were sure that the crystals were in the chest. 

Ryan took a deep breath and looked at the two with a serious expression, "It seems like the intruders you fought were just distractions." 

Midnight and Alex both exclaimed in unison, "WHAT?" 

Ryan nodded and continued, "It's true. It's would be the only logical explanation for the report that I just got…" Alex looked at Ryan with a confused gaze and asked, "Report?" 

Ryan looked at Alex and Midnight and nodded, "Yes, I just got a report on something bizarre… Around a few of the corpses that were brought in the facility. All of them were supposed to have the crystal within their chests but a few were missing. " 

Alex and Midnight looked shocked by the news they just heard. Ryan looked at the two and continued, "it seems like we might have underestimated the enemy here. I thought they were just trying to send a signal that they would send more attacks at us, the signals being the two intruders but to think it was a distraction… It also means that they have a very high ranked Awakened among them, someone who can sneak around and get through a highly secure facility, filled with people and even three A rank awakened without even being unnoticed. They left nothing behind as a clue for their movement… Which is very scary to think about. The weird part is that they only took a few crystals, that also the smaller ones from the weaker Awakened." 

Alex and Midnight looked a bit shaken up when they thought about the enemy sneaking behind their backs without anyone noticing. Alex then quickly thought of something, "What is one of the workers or scientists was under the mind control?" 

Ryan nodded, "That is a possibility so that's why everyone in the facility is to do a blood test, including you two. That's why I called you two here. Well, that and one more reason. " 

Ryan took a deep breath and said, "You two will need to be extra careful when training, if the tests of everyone come as negative, it would mean that the enemy truly has someone who can sneak up on us without even being noticed. So they could come after you two if they wanted to…" 

The two nodded when they heard Midnight. They were sure that their results would come negative but they stayed in the office and took the blood test. After a while, the results came. Ryan looked at the two and smiled, "as expected, Negative. You two can finally leave"
