When Arlan's group arrived at the hospital, he immediately headed to the front desk and asked which room Fabian was staying in. After getting the nurse's answer, Arlan quickly headed to the room with an urgent look on his face.

The people behind him remained silent, not daring to speak when they saw his grave expression.

There were four police officers outside Fabian's room and they immediately blocked Arlan and his group from entering.

"I am Arlan Dominic Roa. Tell the person I spoke with on the phone that I'm here." Arlan muttered to the police officers.

The police officers gave each other a nod before one of them entered the room.

"Please give us a moment to confirm your identity, Sir." One of the police officers muttered. They were intimidated by Arlan's group. Although he didn't bring all his men inside the hospital, there were still four people behind him.

Arlan nodded his head in understanding. He didn't make things difficult for these police officers. At least they were serious about ensuring Fabian's safety.

A moment later, a female police officer stepped out of the room. She stared at Arlan and saluted. "Mr. Roa!"

Arlan nodded at her and muttered. "I want to see him."

The female police officer, Zenny, sighed as she said. "You can go inside, but your men can only stay outside."

"Stay here and don't let anyone disturb us." Arlan told Khalon and the others.

"Yes, boss!"

Arlan followed Zenny inside the room and saw Fabian whose face was covered in gauze. His eyes were shut tight, seemingly in deep sleep. Beside the bed was a machine that constantly monitors his heart rate.

Arlan stared at the man in silence.

"Because of his sacrifice, all the hostages were released." Zenny gently grabbed Fabian's hand. He was like a father figure to her. He was the person who guided her after she became a police officer of Taguig City Police Station.

"What about Diego?" Arlan's voice was cold, making Zenny shiver unknowingly. She turned her gaze to him and replied. "Diego and seven of his subordinates managed to escape. Eight of them were killed in a shootout."

Arlan nodded upon hearing this. "Get me the doctor in charge. I want to hear his opinion."

Zenny furrowed her eyebrows at his commanding tone, but knowing that Arlan was her mentor's close friend, she could only agree. "Alright." She then called the doctor.

While Zenny was on the phone, Arlan dialed the telephone number in his study.

"Hello." A cold voice answered the call.

"Winter, I want you to track Diego's whereabouts. Send me his location as soon as you get some information." Arlan spoke while looking at Fabian's face.

"Leave it to me." Winter replied.

Arlan disconnected the call.

Soon, three doctors entered the room. One was a middle-aged man in his late forties and the other two were new doctors.

"Miss Zenny." The middle-aged doctor shook hands with Zenny.

"Dr. Mariano, this is Mr. Arlan Dominic Roa. He is a close friend of Sir Fabian. Mr. Roa, this is Dr. Mariano, the surgeon responsible for Sir Fabian's operation." Zenny introduced them to each other.

(Mariano is pronounced as mar-ya-no)

"Dr. Mariano, it's a pleasure to meet you." Arlan didn't put on airs in front of this medical expert.

"Likewise, Mr. Roa."

"Dr. Mariano, can you tell me about Sir Fabian's condition?" Arlan held hopes that Fabian could still recover.

"The patient received two gunshot wounds on his left cheek which severely damage the left portion of his face. There are also blunt force trauma in almost every part of his body. It is already a miracle that he managed to survive even with such heavy injuries. However, because of the blood clot in his brain, he has a slim chance of recovery..." Dr. Mariano muttered while looking at Fabian's information on the document in his hand.

"How much time does he have left?" Arlan asked in a low voice.

Dr. Mariano stared at Arlan and shook his head apologetically. "He only has a month at most if the blood clot in his brain isn't removed. Unfortunately, Sir Fabian's case isn't something our hospital could handle. Even our neurosurgeons are powerless."

"Thank you for your time, Dr. Mariano." Arlan nodded at the doctors. He then stared at Zenny and said. "Please take care of him."

Suddenly, his phone vibrated. It was a message from Winter.

Seeing this, Arlan quickly opened her message. Contained inside the message were images of Diego and his men. There was also information about their hiding spot.

Winter got their images from the CCTV cameras. As to how she managed to get them, Arlan had no idea.

Arlan turned off his phone and stepped out of the room. "Let's go." He muttered to Khalon and the others. When they walked far from the police officers, his eyes flashed with coldness. "We have people to kill. Prepare yourselves."

Hearing this, other than Khalon, the other three were stunned.

Diego and his seven subordinates were temporarily taking shelter inside a house in Malabon, a first-class city in Metropolitan Manila.

Four of them were lightly wounded, including Diego himself. His shoulder was shot during their escape from Binondo.

At this moment, he was speaking with someone on the phone.

"We need help here. We are staying in Longos, Malabon. Four of us are wounded. Bring some doctors with you guys." Diego spoke.

A moment later, he disconnected the call and told his subordinates. "Our people are coming for us. Just wait for a while. They will come here soon."

"That's great!"

"Keep your voices down! Our team will be here within four hours. I want two of you to keep watch outside. Inform us immediately if you notice something suspicious." Diego didn't want to be careless. They couldn't afford to lose more men at this point. They already lost eight people on their way here and four of them were even wounded. If they encounter the police, they might be captured once again.
