I Shall Be Happy

Chapter 27 - Training (2)

(3rd's person)

"Today we're going to practice hand-to-hand combat. When it comes to fighting seriously, even if I only use 10% of your power, I can still beat both of you black and blue."

Hearing his arrogant words, Annie, who already had a lot of fighting experiences, began to get irritated. Combining with the overwhelming strength that she had cultivated these last 10 months, which is 70% of her titan power.

Meanwhile, Mikasa wasn't that much different. Being told that she would lose even if Athanatos was only using 10% of her strength, hurt her pride. Even though she only knew a trick or two about fighting, her instinct can complement the rest, making her look like an experienced fighter.

The two girls began to get fire up, both can't wait to prove Athanatos wrong.

"There's a reason why we only did physical training up until now. Do you know why?"

"Isn't it to adapt to our titan power?" Annie answered confidently since he often repeated this phrase.

"Yes, but that's only half of it. The point is to have absolute control of your body. Just like how you need to first learn how to walk before you can run, the same thing applies here. The physical training is only the first step for the strength that you can achieve. If you were as strong as you're now, but can't control that power, then the upcoming training will definitely kill you.

---------------------------------

(Annie's POV)

He was right... I would have been kill at least millions of times if I couldn't control this body of mine to perfection. Each joint, each muscle, each piece of bone, and everything, they all served a purpose. If I neglect just a single one, I... don't even want to think about what might happen.

If the 10 months of physical training was hell, then these last 3 months of actual combat was... SO IMPOSSIBLE THAT EVEN GODS WILL DIE

I was in so much pain the first day, I cried for 3 hours straight.

The only salvation that I had was after a day of training in the hell chamber, there's a day of rest in the real world. I was never more thankful that I was alive than I was now.

But... there's still almost a year of training left. I hope I can live through this while remaining sane.

---------------------------------

Right now, I was dodging a rain of spears falling at the speed of sound. And occasionally, there are some special 'infrared homing' spears, which Athanatos called it, the Impossible to Dodge Spear. He was right, I got impaled by at least hundreds of these by now, that was at least until yesterday which I found that if I dodge when it is within 1 cm near me, the thing will no longer target me.

It should be a good thing... but...

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!"

That's impossible, I dodged everything! So what hit me?

Giving a glance at Thana-kun, I can see smoke coming out of his finger.

Did he shot me? What was that speed? I couldn't even see it?

"Enemies won't just wait for you to dodge while doing nothing Annie, leave a part of your subconscious on me so you can observe more."

That's not how a human works Thana-kun... But regardless, I still have to do it. Thana-kun's training is very effective. I have never thought that I could do amazing things as I can now but I still achieved it nonetheless.

---------------------------------

(MC's POV)

Even though it was supposed to be a training for these two girls, the same thing goes for me too. They have helped me tremendously at learning how to control my power. The domain at which I could freely control space and time now extended up to 100 meters radius. This is the reason why the training room, despite being very small, is such a huge room.

Besides my space and time power, I have also learned how to make a pocket dimension. I got this idea after seeing Mikasa's flexing her muscles and condensing them. The idea was to use my power to make the biggest space I could and then condense them into just a small sphere.

I thought it would work until I f**ked up real hard. Since the space was quite dense, the moment I put something into that pocket dimension, the whole space collapse, and a small black sphere was created. That thing... almost killed me if not for the fact that it only existed for only just a brief moment. It's almost on par with my strongest ability, which is the ability to disintegrate all things, whether it is tangible or not.

So after a lot of times trying to kill myself, I succeeded in making a stable pocket dimension. It is the most convenient thing I ever made in my life, and plus time doesn't pass within that dimension. There's so many application for this dimension, which I named it as Our Space. I think the most important part of the whole pocket dimension is the name, I mean it took me 3 hours to think of that. Am I not amazing? What a genius.

---------------------------------

"Alright, now you two are going to fight me. I will only use 10% of your strength."

Although it's true that I can beat both of them despite being that weak, it will not be easy. These two girls are monsters. Especially Mikasa. Her beastly instinct is definitely not humane. Even in my previous world, such talent can only be count on one hand. Annie, on the other hand, doesn't have as much talent like me and Mikasa, but it can still be categorized as a monstrous talent of one in a million.

Still, that wasn't enough for her to withstand the hellish training. The reason why she is still alive is because of her combat judgment, making her on par with Mikasa's godly instinct. But unlike instinct, where it basically guides you to the shortest route, her judgment allows her to pick the most effective method of fighting. This enables her to integrate various skills into action or put all the theories I told her into practice. Annie is now basically a living encyclopedia of fighting knowledge.

---------------------------------

Pant* Pant* Pant*

The two girls are now lying on the ground looking at me with a confused gaze.

"Why- pant*- can't-pant*- we win?"

Mikasa looked at me with her fiery eyes full of determination. It seemed that she didn't like the fact that I beat her while handicapping myself.

"You two are strong. Yes. But there are a lot of flaws in your fighting. Annie, because you think too much, your reaction slowed down a little. That's why you were an easy target even if you can fight well. You need to ingrain those fighting techniques I taught you into your own very soul. Make it so that you no longer need to think to pick what styles suit you the most. Hesitate in the middle of a fight can get you killed very quickly."

"Mikasa, you, on the other hand, fought very well. You were able to make the most use of your skills with no hesitation at all. But there's a big problem. You are weak to sudden changes. During the middle of the fight, I switched to a new style of fighting, but you didn't. You were too stubborn to change your fighting techniques. Remember, able to make the best use of all abilities is necessary to be strong. Don't be afraid of changes. If you only stay comfortable with one skill, the rest will be obsolete and your enemies will use that to your advantage."

"Now rest for a while... I have a surprise for both of you later."
