As I passed the school gate where another teacher was checking clothes, unlike usual, I saw several tour buses lined up in front of the campus.

“Oppa! Well then, go to Forest School!”

“Yeah, I’ll be back. Yuika.”

“Eat well. Ui.”

With the same orange hair as Sakamoto’s, his sister ran towards the middle school building.

Kishimoto asked, looking at her back.

“Your little sister is pretty. How old are you?”

Then Sakamoto replied with a smile as if embarrassed.

“I’m two years older than you. Now I’m in my 3rd year of middle school.”

“Uee is a child with a sharp personality. Unlike her lazy brother, she knows everything and does everything.”

After saying that, Yaguchi laughed and patted Sakamoto on the back.

“Oh, wait! Are you my mother!”

Then Sakamoto grumbled with an angry expression.

As I was walking while watching the two childhood friends quarreling, I arrived at the playground.

Satoru, who seemed to have come and waited for us first, waved his hand toward us.

“Hey! This way!”

We, who happened to be groomed on the subway, rushed towards it.

Perhaps because it was said that they would leave at 8:20, many children had already come and lined up.

The class leader, Satoru, and even Sasha, who are rarely seen in plain clothes, all gathered in Group D of Class 2-B.

“Yoosung, are you sure you brought the things you bought yesterday?”

“of course.”

I nodded and waved the icebox I was wearing on my shoulder.

Currently, in my bag, there were various seasonings in addition to clothes and toiletries to change at the campsite.

“By the way, what’s that thing on your back?”

As I listened to Satoru’s question, I turned my back and showed it.

“It’s a wok I use at home. I brought it to use when making Chinese rice bowls.”

Then Satoru narrowed his brows and muttered.

“Because you’re doing it, you look like the villain from a cooking manga.”

Hearing those words, Kishimoto responded.

“Ah, I think I know what it is. A manga about dark cooking world and legendary cooking utensils?”

“Kishimoto, you saw that too.”

“Yeah. I had a lot of fun when I was younger.”

After staring at the two people who said they looked like villains from a cooking cartoon in front of people, I decided to put the icebox I brought from home in the cargo compartment of the bus.

Because it seemed like it would only be cumbersome if I kept holding it.

Rumble!

When I put the icebox in the cargo compartment and returned to my original seat, Matsuda, wearing a blue mountaineering suit and fluorescent sunglasses instead of the sportswear she always wore, climbed up on the podium and shouted.

“Come on! Quiet! Quiet! I know everyone is excited about the forest school, but don’t cause any accidents and come back safely! First is safety! Second is safety! If anyone is ill, contact the teacher immediately. You can see the turn and call any teacher! The bus will be boarded from the prepared class first, so if you want to go quickly, stand in line!”

He didn’t even use a loudspeaker, but seeing his voice piercing through his ears, Matsuda’s voice was definitely loud.

It doesn’t seem like he’s been the head of the school year for nothing for three years in a row.

Anyway, after one round of traffic control, after checking the attendance, they started getting on the tour bus one after the other.

“It’s the first time I’ve been to a forest school, so I’m looking forward to it.”

Sasha mumbled that with a recalled face.

When I heard that, I asked a question that immediately came to mind.

“Don’t you go to a forest school in Russia?”

Then Sasha shook her head.

“I don’t know if it’s going with family or friends, but the school doesn’t take the initiative. Because there are a lot of wild bears in Russia.”

“……”

For some reason, it was too realistic, so I quickly understood.

It was because it was certain that the school would be turned upside down on the day the students met even a bear while camping in the forest.

Chiba is about an hour to an hour and a half by bus from Minato-ku, Tokyo, where Ichijo Gakuen is located.

It’s a long time if it’s long, and a short time if it’s short, but there was no sign that anyone would sleep well, probably because everyone came with high expectations for Forest School.

It was the same with Group D, to which I belong, and we, who occupied the back seats of the bus, sat around and played a werewolf game.

Due to the small number of participants, only the most basic professions, fortune tellers and hunters, were included.

An hour had evaporated almost like magic.

The most shocking werewolf was the class leader, who led the atmosphere from beginning to end and killed all citizens without a blink of an eye, almost like a psychopath.

Anyway, Chiba arrived safely like that.

One of the biggest characteristics of Chiba is that it is the only one among the 47 prefectures that does not have a production area.

So the campsite where we stayed for 3 days and 2 nights was like a semi-resort forest except for the river flowing behind it.

It wasn’t bad in that it was good for procuring drinking water, but it was a bit disappointing that there was no valley where people could play in the water like a normal mountain.

Anyway, we immediately set up our tent as soon as we arrived at the campsite.

In general, tents are rented out by the campsite, so we just had to come here and set up the tent.

One medium-sized tent for three men and one large tent for four women.

When I checked the time after setting up two tents in total, it was already 12 o’clock.

For lunch on the first day of school, we usually eat packed lunches brought from home, so we got together in groups to eat.

“Ah! Chili Shrimp! How do you know I like it!”

“You asked me to make it last time.”

I held out my lunch box to Satoru, who brazenly held out his chopsticks while reading a Korean book, and said something ridiculous.

Then Sasha, who was next to me, showed interest and asked me.

“Kim Yoo-sung You like to exercise, so I thought you would only eat chicken breast, but surprisingly, you don’t seem to control your diet.”

I nodded as I ate the egg fried rice I made in the morning.

“I can’t keep up with the calories I burn in a day with a diet diet. So I tend to eat freely as much as I eat.”

The reason why I like Chinese food is because there are basically many recipes for grilling and frying, which are high in calories.

Because it uses a lot of stimulant antispasmodics, there are some that can be added with less salt or sugar.

Seeing Satoru eating deliciously, Rika asked with chopsticks in her mouth if her appetite had changed.

“Can I try one too?”

“However much.”

As I held out my lunch box, Rika’s chopsticks quickly snatched away the chili prawns.

I felt the gaze of others, but I thought about sharing the chili shrimp anyway, so I made it generously, so I put the lunch box I was carrying in the middle of the mat.

“Everyone, try one. This one is pretty confident.”

Then the other four people, who pretended not to be like that and showed a secret desire to eat, took each chili shrimp one by one and ate them.

“It must have been a while since I made it, but how is it so crispy?”

“That’s because it’s fried with starch powder. If you fry it with starch powder, it won’t get soggy easily.”

“Yeah? I’ll try it later.”

Yaguchi, who seems to be interested in cooking, muttered like that and looked at the half-eaten chili shrimp as if analyzing it.

Seeing the class leader, Sakamoto, and Russian Sasha eating deliciously, I feel the reward of waking up like dawn and preparing.

We ended up eating lunch in a friendly atmosphere, changing each other’s side dishes one by one.

Since forest schools are usually implemented in the name of improving the health of students, unlike schools, they mainly involve physical activity.

If I had gone to the mountains, I would have climbed the mountain, but this time, it was because I came to Chiba, which is made up of all forests, so instead of climbing, I did environmental beautification activities.

Each group was given a bag of garbage and had them walk around the forest to pick up trash with tongs.

Thanks to this, before our lunch was even digested, we left the campsite and wandered around the forest to pick up trash.

Of course, there was no good sound from the students’ point of view.

“Ah, damn it. The teachers must be playing in the dormitory.”

As Satoru grumbled like that while picking up trash with tongs, the class leader pushed up his glasses and said,

“That’s what Forest School is.

“It would have been even worse if I had even hiked in this weather. Oh, there’s trash there too.”

When I grabbed the candy bag hanging over the bush with tongs and put it in the garbage bag, Satoru, who was watching it with a distraught expression, asked.

“By the way, who decided to take on the role of the ghost in today’s test of courage?”

Hearing that, I quietly raised my right hand.

“I was supposed to.”

Unfortunately, I didn’t have much luck with the draw.

Then Satoru said to me with a tired expression.

“Never put on a ghost makeup, because it seems like someone will pass out.”

“Yeah, what.”

I don’t know why, but after hearing Satoru’s words, there’s nothing wrong with that, so I said I’d find out for now.
