My First Time in a Different World 1

“This is Nina, the 14th Saintess. She must be bewildered by her sudden arrival in this world, so please take care of her, everyone.”

I was suddenly transported to the world of the Otome game “Adolescence of Swords and Magic,” and after Owen gave me a brief introduction about this world and the saintess’ role, I was introduced to everyone.

There was no way I could accept the reality that I suddenly could use magic because I was a saintess and that I should defeat the Demon King together with them.

I still couldn’t believe that what was happening to me was real, and I tried to secretly pinch the back of my hand.

“Wow….”

And then, in front of me, there was a lineup of beautiful male and female characters, all staring at me. The sight was so overwhelming, so unrealistic, and so dazzling, that I even felt dizzy.

“I’m Nina. P-Please take care of me!”

That was all I could say, and a heavy silence fell over the room, which was known as the main conference room. I couldn’t help but feel that it was too large for only six people to use.

“…..”

“…..”

The only part that was the same as the game was the prologue part, and the characters’ attitudes and words were obviously different. I realized that everything might not be as it was in the game.

The first person to open his mouth was Theo, who was feeling suffocated by the obviously unwelcoming atmosphere.

“So, people from another world look like this? She seems like an ordinary child. She looks like someone who’s easily going to die.”

“Nina is 16 years old, so she’s the same age as Theo. There must be a lot of things she doesn’t understand, so I hope you can teach her a few things.”

“Sure. I’m Theo, an elf. Nice to meet you!”

“It’s very nice to meet you, too.”

“We’re the same age, aren’t we? You don’t need honorifics.”

With a friendly smile, I shook Theo’s right hand. His hand was very large and warm.

─It was the moment I realized that although I had initially recognized the people in front of me as game characters, they were all living, breathing human beings in this world.

“Someday, please tell me about your world, too.”

“Yes, of course!”

Theo, who looked so innocent, seemed to be interested in the world I lived in. His bright light green hair and emerald eyes even sparkled.

When Theo closed his mouth, silence returned to the place, and Owen looked weary.

“Why don’t each of you at least introduce yourselves?”

“…. I’m Dirk Blythe, head of the Royal Order of Knights. Pleased to meet you.”

“Dirk-san, it’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Dirk wasn’t a man of many words by nature and was shy around women, so the moment their eyes met, he immediately turned his face away.

In the midst of all this, Alvin-sama and Lara remained silent. They didn’t seem to be interested in me at all and didn’t even look at me.

When Owen called out their names, Lara let out a sigh and turned her cold gaze toward me.

“I can’t believe that such a little girl is the Saintess who will save the world. Can you really use holy magic?”

“Huh? Um, I don’t know. I’ve never used magic before, and I don’t know how to use it…”

“Ha, you sure are taking it easy, even though the Demon King will be back in a year.”

“Nina can definitely use holy magic. There’s no magic in her world, so she will just have to practice it from now on.”

Although Owen defended me, I could feel a clear rejection from Lara’s words and attitude.

Each of the five people present here had mastered swords and magic, and possessed tremendous power. They might be feeling unwilling to rely on a powerless person who came from another world.

Nevertheless, since the Demon King could only be completely defeated by the Saintess’ magic power, I guess they couldn’t ignore my presence.

I couldn’t stand the heavy atmosphere and looked at Owen, and he smiled at me helplessly.

“I’m sorry for the uncomfortable atmosphere. This is Alvin, the first prince of the Kingdom of Wymark. He is the best wizard in our country. And this is our resident black wizard, Lara.”

Even when Owen introduced them, there was no response from either of them. Shrugging his shoulders, Owen sighed and continued.

“Also, there will be a welcome party for Nina tomorrow night in the royal castle, so make sure everyone attends.”

“I’ll pass. I didn’t welcome her in the first place.”

With that, Lara stood up and walked out of the conference room, her beautiful long violet hair flowing behind her back.

“I’m not interested in the Saintess either. Do whatever you want.”

Alvin-sama also quietly left the room without looking at me. I could feel the strong rejection from his back.

There was an incredibly awkward atmosphere in the room, and Owen let out another sigh.

“…. I’m sorry, they’re just very cautious. They’re not bad people, so please don’t hate them.”

“Y-Yes. It’s all right.”

Having played the game, I knew them fairly well, and originally, I felt like they were already the companions I had made on the long journey together. That’s why it was heartbreaking when they were cold to me.

Still, to them, I was just a stranger, someone they had never met before. I wanted them to get to know me little by little from now on and became friends with me.

“Well, don’t worry about those guys! They’re not acting like that just to you, they do that to everyone.”

“Yes, thank you.”

“Don’t worry, we’re with you. Dirk, too.”

“…. If there’s anything you need, just let us know.”

“Okay. I’ll do my best here, thank you!”

And so began my first life in another world, where all the stats, including the favorability stat, were zero.
