A New Morning 1

“…. Ah, my head…. It hurts….”

I opened my eyes, suppressing the throbbing pain in my head. As soon as I cast a recovery spell, the pain quickly subsided.

Gradually, my head became clearer, and I remembered that I had drunk alcohol with Lara and the others until late last night. I heard some people lose their memory when drunk, but I remembered it well.

And after remembering so many things, I felt like covering myself with the covers again and screaming.

“I-I…. with Alvin-sama…..”

He pushed me down on the bed and kissed me. And it wasn’t just once, he kissed me over and over again.

“Nina, don’t run away.”

“A-Alvin-sama….”

Our lips overlapped countless times, and by the end, I had no more strength in my body and let him do as he pleased.

I couldn’t get the feverish look in Alvin-sama’s eyes and expression out of my mind and involuntarily flailed my arms and legs. I hugged Cheryl tightly as she approached me with a look that said, ‘What’s going on?’

“W-What should I do…. but there’s nothing I can do…”

Would my relationship with Alvin-sama change from now on? It was the first time I fell in love with or kissed someone, so I didn’t know how to face him.

I felt helplessly nervous and restless.

There was one thing that bothered me, though.

“Hey, Cheryl. When did Alvin-sama get back?”

When I asked Cheryl such a question, she tilted her head. Of course, I wasn’t expecting an answer. It was just a monologue of mine, and I hugged the cute Cheryl again.

At times like this, Alvin-sama always stayed by my side until I woke up. That was why I felt a little sad that he wasn’t there.

“…. Really, I’m being too picky.”

I realized that I was more dependent on Alvin-sama than I thought.

I looked at the clock and saw that it was already breakfast time.

Today was the day we all had breakfast together, so I lightly slapped my cheeks with both hands to remind myself that I need to get ready and head out.

Then I called my personal maid and had her prepare me more carefully than usual.

“Nina-sama, are you going somewhere today?”

“Ah, no, I don’t have any plans….”

Having even had my favorite hair ornament put on, I was embarrassed to be asked such a question by the maid.

I just wanted Alvin-sama to think I was a little bit pretty. I never knew that I had this girly side to me as well.

“G-Good morning… eh?”

I nervously stepped into the dining room, only to find Alvin-sama and Owen there.

“Good morning, Nina. You look even cuter than usual today.”

I thanked Owen, who smiled at me, and sat down next to Alvin-sama as usual.

Alvin-sama simply said, “Good morning, Nina,” and motioned for the maids to bring the food.

“G-Good morning….”

As soon as I saw Alvin-sama’s face, I remembered so many things about last night that my face became hot and I couldn’t look properly at him.

“By the way, the three people who aren’t here have a terrible hangover and can’t get up. Did you all drink that much?”

“Ah…. I need to go do some recovery magic after breakfast.”

Owen said he could hear sobbing coming from Theo’s room. He was an example of a bad adult.

Deciding to finish eating early and go to the three people who were probably suffering, I put my hands together and began to eat.

“…..”

“…..”

“…..”

We then ate our meal in surprising silence. Alvin-sama didn’t speak a word. He was so different from his usual self that I was worried that I might have done something wrong.

And I, too, couldn’t even turn my head toward him, let alone speak to Alvin-sama myself.

Owen also seemed to notice something different and smiled while trying to lighten the atmosphere.

“Aww, I wish I could have been there last night. Nina, that was your first time drinking, right?”

“Yes. I was drunker than I thought I would be, but I had fun.”

Owen seemed disappointed that he couldn’t join us because of his work, and he promised to drink with all of us next time.

“I wish I could have seen Nina drunk. You would have been cute.”

“No. Dirk is definitely cuter.”

I couldn’t help but smile as I remembered Dirk saying only “Hngh” while drunk.

Even after that, Alvin-sama didn’t speak, and my heart was filled with a sense of uncertainty and uneasiness. Maybe I did do something wrong before I fell asleep.

In the end, I couldn’t even eat much of the food.

I finished my meal and was about to leave the dining room, feeling sad and wondering what Alvin-sama was thinking right now.

Then, he called my name, “Nina,” and I stopped.

“I’m really sorry.”

Alvin-sama muttered quietly. He slipped past me and walked down the hallway.

I was left standing there alone, unable to do anything but stare at his shrinking back.

“Why….?”

What was that apology for? I had absolutely no memory of Alvin-sama doing something unpleasant to me.

However, I didn’t have the courage to chase after him right now, so I left the dining room with heavy steps, feeling a pain in my chest.
