A New Morning 3

“Nina, I love you. I only want Nina for the rest of my life.”

My heart was filled with feelings of love, and I nodded many times in response to Alvin-sama’s words of love and even accepted his kiss in the first half, but….

When I thought about it, I realized that I had never said “I love you” out loud to him.

“…. Are you serious?”

Even Lara looked clearly taken back, which made me even more flustered.

“B-But I nodded my head every time he told me he liked me, and we also kissed many times…. He should have known that I liked him, right….?”

“You can do that even when you’re drunk.”

“N-No way….”

Perhaps Alvin-sama was still unaware of my affection for him and thought that I was just a woman who got drunk and was forced to kiss him? It was too horrible a misunderstanding.

Although I said in a pompous manner that it wasn’t the momentum of alcohol, I was still a little drunk. It was natural for him to feel guilty.

My heart tightened when I thought of Alvin-sama’s feelings, who only said “I’m really sorry” while looking like he wanted to say something else.

“I-I’m going to go see Alvin-sama!”

“Yes, yes, go ahead. I envy your youth.”

I hurriedly stood up and left Lara’s room where she sighed “I want to fall in love, too,” and headed straight for Alvin-sama’s office.

◇◇◇

“W-What should I do…?”

Although I came to the front of the office with a transformation spell, I still felt that confessing to Alvin-sama while he was working wasn’t a good idea.

Still, I wanted to tell him as soon as possible, and as I was wandering around in front of the door, someone suddenly called out to me from behind my back.

“Nina?”

I was startled and hurriedly turned around, holding my rapidly beating heart, and there was Owen.

“What’s wrong? You’re acting suspicious.”

“I wanted to talk to Alvin-sama….”

“Oh, Alvin is in a meeting right now. He’ll be back soon, so I was told to wait in the office. If you have some business with him, let’s wait together.”

“But mine are non-work related.”

“Don’t worry, for Alvin, Nina is his first priority.”

Owen laughed and pushed me into the office. I decided to simply tell Alvin-sama I liked him anyway, briefly, and sat down in the chair in front of the big desk with Owen.

I released the transformation spell and took a deep breath.

“So, did you guys have a fight? You two were acting kind of strange this morning.”

“…. Well, actually, I thought I’d confess to him.”

When I told him honestly, Owen looked unusually surprised. But then he smiled softly.

“That’s quite the serious matter. I’ll leave as soon as I’ve finished my business, so do your best. Don’t forget to tell me more about it later.”

“T-Thank you. I’m starting to get nervous….”

“I think it’ll be the most successful confession in the world.”

I felt a little better after being encouraged. There was no need to be anxious.

“Is there something out of place with me right now? Do I look okay?”

“Yes, you look really pretty.”

Even so, I was still a little nervous. I realized that when one fell in love, they usually acted not like their usual self.

As I touched my hair to adjust it, my hair ornament fell out and rolled on the floor. I crouched down under the desk to pick it up immediately and reached out for it.

Then, suddenly I heard the door open with a clang and the sound of footsteps echoed through the room.

“Owen, sorry to keep you waiting.”

“It’s okay, I had a good time.”

“There shouldn’t be any entertainment in this room.”

It seemed that Alvin-sama had returned. Just hearing his voice was enough to make my heart pound.

Meanwhile, I was about to reach for the hair ornament and was going to call out to Alvin-sama after I picked it up.

“By the way, you look kind of down. What’s wrong?”

“…. I think Nina might hate me.”

With Alvin-sama saying that at the same time as I managed to grab my hair ornament, I completely missed the timing to get out from under the desk.

I glanced up and saw that in contrast to Alvin-sama’s serious voice, Owen looked as if he was about to burst out laughing at any moment and was trying his best to hold it together.

It was indeed very comical from someone else’s point of view. I had said I was going to confess my feelings now, but the man in question, Alvin-sama, was despairing that I might have hated him.

“What makes you think that? Did you do something wrong?”

Owen, obviously amused, posed such a question to Alvin-sama even though he knew I was there.

“Even though she might have forgiven me, I forced Nina to do something she didn’t want to. I did whatever I wanted to her.”

I struggled to hold back a coughing fit. Owen was stunned by the unexpected situation.

The discrepancy between Alvin-sama and myself about last night’s matter was too ridiculous. Owen thought it was strange, and started to follow up on it.

“But did Nina really hate it? She might have said she didn’t like it, but in reality, she liked it.’”

“She didn’t even look at me this morning. She was probably scared.”

No, no, please wait. I wasn’t sure how he could take my embarrassment as being frightened, but Alvin-sama was being too negative.

“…. If Nina really hates me, I don’t know how I’ll be able to live with myself in the future.”

Unable to bear such a sorrowful voice and so much misunderstanding, I called out his name and stood up.

“──Nina?”
