Chapter 19 – The Uncouth daughter and the wyvern

After riding in a coach for ten days, I arrived in a provincial town called Roca.

Compared to the royal capital, there were far fewer people and stores.

This is also the place to change rides when going to the frontier.

"Yes, my name is Tony Fawn. So ......"

Tony scurried around the waiting room for some reason. Then he looked up at Lord Nazel with a puzzled look.

"Where is your wife?"

"..........."

Silence fell over the waiting room.

After a coherent cough, Lord Nazel stretches one of his arms behind my back.

"Let me introduce you. This is my wife, Agnes."

I smiled and greeted Tony.

"Nice to meet you, I am Agnes. Thank you for coming to pick me up."

It's okay. I let Kelly take care of my clothes and makeup today.

They wouldn't have to run away at first sight the moment we saw each other. Kelly is a very good maid.

Tony was looking at me with his mouth gaping open and a look of disbelief.

Then Lord Nazel smiles at him while supporting my back.

While I was fumbling around, Tony seemed to recover and led us to where the cavalry beast was. But......

I was curious to see the cavalry beast up close for the first time, but Lord Nazel looked as if he wanted to say something.

The beast screeching in front of me is a kind of magical beast called a wyvern, which resembles a lizard.

If it is a lizard, there were plenty of them in the Evantail family's yard, this one is just a bigger one with wings on it. I'm glad it wasn't a strange magical beast~!

As I gazed at the wyvern, I was approached by a concerned Nazel.

"Good. Now then, let's get on with it."

It's my first time riding a cavalry beast, so I'm very nervous.

Before us is a beautiful wyvern with bright blue scales and green eyes.

It is quiet and looks at us with curious eyes. Is it a male or a female?

"All right, all right, you're a good girl, aren't you? You are a beautiful girl, aren't you? I just love creatures like you."

"I couldn't keep anything in the house because my father and mother didn't like it."

Many small beasts lived in the garden, sheep were kept in the Marquisate of Evantail, and there were sheepdogs. I remember seeing cows, chickens, goats, and cats.

I even snuck out of the house in the middle of the night and went to touch the nocturnal beasts.

Unlike humans, they did not comment on my appearance, and they would not hurt me.

After I finish petting the wyvern in front of me, I hook my feet on the metal fittings and crawl easily up onto its back. The clothes Kelly has dressed me in are not flouncy and designed for easy riding.

"Dear Nazel, do you want to ride in the front or in the back?"

"It's not safe in the back. Agnes, you ride in front and I'll support you."

"Understood."

Sliding forward, Nazel jumped on the back seat with a nimble movement.

Tony has a dumbfounded look on his face, but I wonder what's wrong? Oh well.

We asked everyone who followed us from the Florescence household to return as we head to the Sutrena territory with just me, Lord Nazel and Kelly.

Kelly rode in the red wyvern with Tony.
