Episode 47 – The Gyaru Shouldn’t Be a Loner…..

I, Izumo Risa, was a loner when I was in middle school.

Nowadays, I dress like a gyaru, talking and playing with the 3 most beautiful girls in class, but originally I was a plain and dull otaku girl.

That’s no wonder. Since I was a kid, my parents were people who moved a lot due to their job, and I had to say goodbye to my friends as soon as I made them.

So I always spent my days eating alone or shutting myself up in the book world.

Then one day, I came across a game.
It was called [Guardian Fantasy].

I started playing the game because I was fascinated by the interaction between the people in the game, and I was immediately captivated by the magnificent scale of the field and the music.

However, that admiration quickly turned into nothing.
As a beginner to a game, I did not immediately become good at the game.

I struggled to raise my level, but because of my poor play and lack of communication, I was shunned by other players and it was hard for me to make friends.

So that’s why most of the time I ended up playing with NPCs, which was far from the reality I was longing for.

……As i thought, if it doesn’t work in real life, it won’t work in the game either?
One day when I continued to play with such thoughts, I was attempting a certain quest.

The quest is to defeat a flying dragon in a dungeon.

However, it seemed that I was not ready for that quest, and I couldn’t proceed as far as I wanted to. While making full use of the items, I advanced to my limit, but the items soon ran out.

Then all that was left was to wait for death. ……
A new monster appeared and attacked me when I was weakened.

…..As I thought, is it impossible for me?
I was crying in front of the screen, just waiting to be killed.

Then, a player slashed the monster from behind the character I was controlling.

Zashu ! ! The demon fell down and disappeared along with the sound effect. When I saw the screen, I felt like I was dreaming.

“Are you okay?”
A chat comes in from the player who helped me.

“Y-yes….. But I’ve already run out of health items and I can’t move.”
I type back and he looked at my character for a while. He doesn’t reply to my chat, so I type again, feeling anxious that I will be abandoned again.

“Um….., could you help me escape this dungeon?”
And then, he remained silent and cast a recovery spell on me and walked forward.

….I knew I would be abandoned.
I curse my life thinking that whether it’s games or school, I’m destined to be abandoned by everyone.

Then, as he was about to move forward, a chat came in.

“You’ve already come this far, it would be a waste if you withdrew, right? I’ll help you, so let’s clear it together.”
The emotionless letters were projected on my computer.
But for some reason it was dazzling for me.
He seemed like a savior to me because he saved me and helped me.

I felt happy instantly and I still remembered my answer [Yes ! !].

And I still remember how he helped me by pushing my back to defeat the flying dragon and complete the quest.

That day, I made a friend request for the first time. While I was feeling nervous, he accepted my friend request and said [With pleasure.] vainly.

I was overjoyed to have my first friend, and from that day on, I spent many days enjoying playing games with him.

I always had the game running so that he could log in at any time, and I waited for him to come in while I was studying.

I was depressed when he didn’t come in and when he came in, I was overjoyed and played the games. One day, about a year after that day, I received a message from him.

“I’m sorry, but it looks like I won’t be able to play games much starting tomorrow.”
I was shocked by what he typed.
I knew that I was dependent on him, and I should’ve known that since it was only a game relationship, it would eventually disappear, but I feel like everything is over.

“Why….?”
I simply ask him what it means without any consideration. Then he answered without hesitation.

“I’m taking the entrance exam this year. So I have to go to cram school. that’s why we can’t play together like we used to.”
His words brought me back to reality.
I don’t know if we’re the same age, but I am also taking the entrance exam this year. Normally, I don’t have time to play with him.

However, being with him was fun, I was happy… I was just trying not to see reality.

“Me too….. I’m taking the high school entrance exams this year.”
And when I replied, he also replied with [You too?].

To which I replied with [Yeah…….].
Then, he stopped replying.

it’s not like I was saying anything weird, but I felt uneasy about the chat that had suddenly cut off.

“I’m a student who’s preparing for an exam, but I want to play with you more….”
Even though I’m worried that he might think I’m annoying, I told him my true feelings. I didn’t want this to disappear naturally.

Then I got a reply from him.
I read what he wrote while feeling afraid about what was written in the chat box.

“Me too. So let’s set a date and time when we can play a game. And if we get accepted, let’s play again without any worries ! !”
I was relieved by the words he typed, but deep down I couldn’t get rid of my anxiety.

Then, I remembered a certain system..

‘Yeah. Okay. ……. But I need a favor.”

“What?”

“I want you to marry me ! !”
He was silent for a while as he was about to write in the chat while his hands on the keyboard were trembling.

…..I’m such a stubborn girl myself.
I loathed myself for a few minutes before he responded.

But his answer was [Okay. Let’s get married.] I was overjoyed by his answer and crawled around the room.

And, even though it was only a status in the game, I looked over the sentence that was written on the status many times while my heart was throbbing at my first marriage.

Rikku’s mariage ring….
It’s an item that has the name of the person i married written on it, and it’s a unique item that should be written as Risa’s marriage ring on his side.

However……at that time, I never dreamed that we would have met in the worst way possible a year later.
