Seemingly mad at the constant absense of her parents from her life, ironically the opposite to most girls her age she refused to get up and open the door until she heard a feminine voice

Laura after hearing who can be assumed to be her mother, slowly walked towards the door by no means bribed by the presents offered but out of sheer love for her parents who came to visit after all thi-

Laura a pretty shy girl with strangers trusts her family enough to truly joke around with them, although with her personality it can't be seen as anything more than simple sarcasm

Finally opening the door what greeted her was a hug by her mother and a small shopping bag which couldnt hold anything bigger than a few chocolates or socks.

meanwhile Alex is enjoying or rather being bored of his college day, same old lectures by the same old professors who could care less if you failed, same old wish to simply make money and even resorting to immoral means such as bribery and pressuring, Alex could swear that a few of the innocent looking ones have slept with the entire male staff more than once simply to avoid their viva getting sunk or a better recommendation letter or with some rich student for a semester worth of fees, each time Alex heard such a rumor he shrugged it off as dumb, on both sides for the men to spend so much money on a single night of s.e.x when there are p.r.o.s.t.i.t.u.t.es with the same integrity but better prices, for the professors to risk losing their jobs although it never happens due to their connections built over time or the girls simply doing it for a degree which would in the end only get them a job at walmart or macdonalds, ofcourse the pretty boys often do the same but such is the harsh reality of life unless you are handsome or a female its pretty hard to get someone to accept even if you offer yourself on a platter the fault lies on both sides

The men for devaluing themselves as something cheap and easy to get by paying for a mutual exchange and the women for the fact that they hypocritically believe in the oldest terms 'if you are a man', Equal rights mean equal responsibility such a simple fact is forgotten by both sides, but no one would really change anything even if they could perhaps some dare devil would attempt to start some law where everything in the world is theirs but on equality no one would truly care, its only convenient when its on your side as he was thinking all this useless gibberish the professor concluded his lecture and everyone went to their own circle of friends, Alex of course joined them too, he headed to a young man surrounded by women named Ray and lightly slapped his back as he came infront of him

"Womanizing as always I see young master Ray"

"Jealous as always I see young master Alex"

This silly exchange could be seen as nothing but rivalry but everyone here knew that if Ray wasnt surrounded by so many girls there would be rumors of him and Alex being gay, one of the females next to Ray seemed pissed at how Alex and Ray ignored her and in a angry tone yelled

"I didnt know you were gay, so did you make love to me only to hide that?"

Ray not at all surprised by this simply shrugged and said

"Young lady, if I was going to sleep with someone to hide that I am gay it would not be you, in any case remind me again how rejecting you earlier is the same as sleeping with you"

As expected of a playboy he held a venomous tongue, the short bursts of giggles around them poured cold water on the girl and she simply stood there in daze, soon she left while spouting cliche lines of revenge, the other women also took the hint and left the two friends together

"Ray, I am always surprised how you still get laid with such a venomous tongue."

"Young master Alex, its precisely because of my tongue"

"Or your father owning 40% of this college"

Ray had once been a typical spoiled young master, attempting to bully the poor and surrounding himself by women who he treated as an object and worse yet they themselves did so to considering they only hanged out with him for the money. He got into a fight with Alex as he once saw his little sister and decided to get her, Laura simply shrugged it off and ignore him, due to this Ray would always pick on Alex while he would fight back, normally it ended with Ray leaving after a few verbal jabs and punches neither Alex nor Ray being too good at it and Ray being too prideful to hire help, it always ended with a few hits but one time as they were in the middle of a verbal jab Ray threatened to kidnap his sister which made Alex furious, this time they fought for a while with both sides wounded, if it was only this then Alex would probably have been made into a scapegoat but soon they found themselves surrounded by unknown men in black, Althought Alex had the option to abandon Ray which he was pretty much willing to but he heard how they were going to murder Ray after getting the ransom which triggered his moral sense, after all if this happened when he wasnt here he wouldnt care but humans tend to 'help' when such events happen infront of them. Alex and Ray both got kidnapped and while they were held in separate rooms they talked to each other about their lives and families and became friends, later on Ray's family hired a few mercenaries to save him and Alex got saved too in the process which is why Ray consider Alex an equal, although Alex knows that if he asked Ray for money he might as well be ruining it.

"You really never change so did you watch last nights show?"

Talking about things no one but them cares or understands time passed and the next lecture started, it was a simple lecture on logic gates and rational operators as well as how to construct a vacuum tube which bored Alex

After the lecture almost like a play everyone went back to chatting with their friends, So did Alex when a beautiful woman with purple hair and D cup b.r.e.a.s.ts surrounded by other women not as beautiful came up to Alex and pointed at his face

"How many times have I told you, you are not worthy of me please stop sending me these harassing letters"

Alex bewildered by this took a while but understood what happened, by someone uknown this lady had been getting letters that claim to be from Alex which Alex himself does not remember sending, normal college drama as everyone knows

"Lady, you came all the way here to tell me that? based on a letter you cant even confirm if its from me? Lady either your worth is only that much or you have a thing for me big enough to fake a letter which is it? Ray do you see? Women just throw themselves at me, what a sinful man I am"

"Yes young master, she seems to be ready to throw herself at you, to knock you out"

"Lady I am sorry but I do not have time for romance, please wait until I am well off before confessing"

"You bloody mongrel, Do you think I would lower myself to your level? Please keep the fantasies and confession letters in your dreams"

She may or not be convinced the letter was not from Alex but her pride made her refuse to back down and she retaliated in venomous spite

"Then please leave this mongrel and go away you are blocking the road like a bad dog"

"Fine I suppose I wasted enough time with you, Just know this whether you sent the letter or not, you are not worthy of me, maybe your friend Ray might get to talk to me at most but you? How much are you worth, good bye"

Taking her followers she left as quickly as she came, contributing nothing to the story of life but then again even with billions of dollars or even if you own several planets its not as if you contribute to anything the cycle continues with or without you, without changing your worth in a truly objective sense, hence 'worth' can be considered as something relative to someone to Alex the girl who just yelled at him was probably worth as much as a bar of chocolate due to her attitude, ofcourse Alex being a normal man liked her beauty but to him it wasnt worth it the beauty vs the attitude amounted her value to a bar of chocolate

Continuing his talk with Ray, eventually time passed and college came to an end when he heard a phone call

"Brother, hurry home we are in huge trouble, Mom and Dad have finally done it"
