Chapter 103 - Invisible mosquitoes

The group of people was none other than Jake, Emir, and others even Morana's brother Zoel and his group were here.

"Looks like we're having a reunion." Said, Luka.

"Hmm." Nodded Ioannes

"Fu*k, get off me, you bastards." Screamed  Emir as he fought something like a crazy person.

"They are fighting something invisible." Said, Luka.

"There are a lot of them, like bees or some kind of flying insects." Said Samael.

"Mosquitoes." Said Morana after using her ability.

"Hey guys, need a hand." Called out Ioannes.

The group's attention was instantly on them. They were delighted to see Morana's group after 5 years of separation.

Without further ado, everyone started attacking the enemies together, and with Morana's help, who could see the mosquitoes, it became easier to fight.

She stayed behind to observe the overall situation and gave out directions occasionally to help them. While others dealt with the enemy.

"Hey, Ioannes, who's the new girl?" Asked Emir not to recognize Morana.

"That's Rana, or to be precise, her name is Morana Apolline de Laval." Said Ioannes.

Hearing the answer, everyone, except Zoel's group that were already aware of Morana's identity, couldn't help but pause their actions in disbelief.

"Wait, de Laval? Isn't that the same surname as Zoel?" Asked Jake.

"Yeah, she is my younger sister." Said Zoel with a calm face.

"What the Fu*k dude. Why didn't you say anything for 5 years?" Screamed Emir, only to receive Zoel's deadpan expression as the answer.

After the group finally got over the fact, they started catching up with each other while massacring the mosquitoes. If others saw this, they would be confused whether this was a fight or a picnic.

"So, what have you guys been up to all these years?" Asked Ioannes as he cut down another mosquito that was lingering behind Jake.

Now the two stood back to back fighting the enemy that surrounded them, but they weren't fazed by the situation.

"Well, we went here and there traveling and gaining some experience, we met Zoel and others about 2 years ago in the arctic desert and hunted down some beasts there together, then got separated again and met near the great bridge a few days ago." Explained Jake. "What about you guys?" .

"Well, we are the same, but we did pay a visit to the middle realm once, though it was an accident. We kind of got caught up in a sticky situation?"

"Oh, I bet it was a hell of a fight situation." Said Anna as she joined the duo.

"Yeah kind of." Admitted Ioannes as he looked at Morana with meaningful eyes.

Seeing the exchange between Ioannes and Morana, Anna couldn't help grinning.

"Oh, I have a hunch it was more than just a fight."

"Well, our dear boss here had half of the middle realms noble ladies chasing after him. I tell you I have never thought about changing my orientation more seriously before."

"Hahahaha. That must have been quite traumatic for you all." Laughed, Anna.

"Yeah, what about you guys?"

"Well, that idiot Emir finally proposed to Sara a year ago. They are planning to get married soon." Said Jake.

"Ohh, that's quite the news."

As they continued to exchange stories of past years, mosquitoes finally started decreasing in the end, Samael burned down the last couple, and the battle ended.

"We can't stay here. The smell will attract the other beasts, and it will be dangerous for all of us if we get caught in the middle. We need to keep moving." Said Zoel and others also agree.

Everyone skillfully and efficiently started moving, and soon they left the place far behind. After moving non-stop for a couple of hours, they found a safe place to rest and camp out.

It could be easily discerned through their actions that everyone has mȧturėd during the past years as they've all been through a lot, but the dream city still brought the most significant change in their lives.

The group quickly divided the tasks, and the camp was ready in no time. As everyone sat down for a meal they messed around and teased each other with stories of the past years while at the same time they reminisced about their pasts and first encounters.

Morana and Zoel separated from the group and sat at the side.

"How are you?" Asked Zoel while feeling a bit embarrassed by the situation.

"Apparently, not as good as you." Said Morana with a subtle smile as she meaningfully looked towards Shio and then again looked at her brother.

"Well…" Zoel didn't know how to react to his little sister's blunt teasing.

Morana didn't continue the topic and instead decided to ask something else.

"How are they?"

"They are good. They miss you very much, but they try to be understanding. We all miss you."

"Hmm. I plan to go to the upper realm after this." Said Morana to Zoel's delight.

"That would be great. Are… are you going to come home?" Asked Zoel with uncertainty and expectation.

"Hmm. For a bit." Confirmed Morana.

After that, neither said anything until Morana broke the silence once again.

"Any news on Victor?" She asked.

"No, he disappeared in thin air 5 years ago. No one has heard of him since the dream city, but we are still looking for him." After that, Zoel proceeded to tell Morana about Victor's situation and explained some things that happened 5 years ago.

To his surprise, Morana didn't have much reaction to the news.

"You aren't surprised." It was a statement, not a question.

"Well, truth be told, I figured it out a long time ago. At least I had a hunch something like that was going on but the situation is more complicated than I thought.

It seems like as time goes by I find out more and more dirty things about this world and for some reason, the divine realm is always involved in some way or another."

"Hmm. I couldn't agree more. The situation is becoming very complicated." Agreed Zoel.

After getting a much-needed rest the group once again proceeded with their journey.
