“Huh heh heh”

A pleasant humming sound was heard.

‘Is it Lucy? Ugh, why is my body so heavy?’

Ariadne wriggled to get her limp body up. Her eyes didn’t open well. Even though she slept soundly, she was extremely tired.

“Oh, You’re already awake. No way. Go to sleep too.”

A soft towel covered her nose with a lively voice. There was no smell.

“If you sleep, it will be over soon, cute princess.”

A woman’s voice was heard laughing and she fell asleep. Even though she wasn’t sleepy, she couldn’t resist. She got entangled in aquatic plants and she fell asleep as if she was being dragged under water.

‘I don’t think I can sleep now in this place…’

Just before she completely lost her mind, she instinctively called his name.

‘Pi.’

Her consciousness was cut off. How long has it been? She felt someone shake her body randomly.

“Aria, Aria.”

Her head was blank and she couldn’t think of anything. She just wanted to keep her eyes closed.

“Aria!”

“Wow!”

Someone screamed in her ear. Ariadne reflexively covered her ears. She screamed so loudly that even her head throbbed.

“Who the hell are you! If you’re going to wake me up, be nice…”

“Aria.”

“…huh?”

Pi was looking at her with a stern expression that didn’t match his youthful face. A golden bookshelf and a glass wall were visible behind the child’s back. It was a fantasy library. When did she get in here?

“Did I fall asleep?”

Ariadne asked, grabbing her throbbing hair. She couldn’t remember what she was doing when she fell asleep. Pi urgently tugged at the hem of her nightgown.

“Aria, emergency, crisis situation.”

“Emergency, why?”

“I can’t wake Aria. Still trying, consciousness is being denied. Rejection, rejection, repulsion, bounce.”

“What is that… Wait a minute, no way.”

She tried to escape the fantasy library. But no matter how much she tried to return to reality, her eyes wouldn’t open. What used to be as natural as breathing suddenly became impossible for her. Realizing the seriousness of her situation, she looked back at Pi.

“Pi, do you know how this happened? I think I just laid down on the bed and fell asleep.”

“It was mistaken for oversleeping, and it was too late to understand. Attempted analysis, now forced to sleep by medication. Aria, danger. Very dangerous.”

“Who is forcing me to sleep?”

Pi’s eyes moved to and fro as she turned to the air. Soon, he spoke quickly with a tone as if reading a book.

“Estimated formulation. Main ingredients: old moon grass, evening primrose leaves. Its use is to induce confusion and sleep. Additive, nightshade sap. Makes it more sensitive to certain sound waves. An immortal stone, relaxing the body and dulling the senses.”

It was the first time that Pi behaved mechanically like this. Ariadne was taken aback for a moment, but when she remembered the urgency of the situation, she calmed her surprise.

“You mean the drug made me sleep?”

“Powder form, presumed to have entered through the respiratory tract. Inference, estimation, impossibility of certainty. Accuracy is high.”

It was a drug in powder form. The spirit lamp she had been watching until right before she fell asleep immediately came to mind. Her face contorted. Maybe was it Leda? Why? Did the Duke buy her?

‘That was all acting? Since when did she plan it?’

Leda Picaro’s identity and circumstances were certain. Was it a lie from the start? Her stomach rumbled. Ariadne bit her lip and tried to stay calm.

‘This is not the time. Worry about it later.’

If she was kidnapped in her sleep, there was no time for her to be in shock.

“Pi, can you sense what the situation is like outside right now? Like, who is around, where is the location or if it’s day or night.”

“The outside of Aria is difficult to detect. Inaccurate results.”

“Anyway, it’s okay.”

“…Cold, dark, big woman.”

“Big woman”? Is she red-haired?”

“Unknown, not visually detectable.”

“I see.”

Ariadne thought as she walked through the study. Pi said that he had mistaken her for oversleeping, so time wouldn’t have passed that long.

‘In one night, no matter how fast the kidnapper moved, she couldn’t escape Weaver.’

As soon as morning comes, everyone in the house would notice that she has been kidnapped and would be looking for her. Even if there was no Archmage or married couple, there was Erich, a genius magician recognized by the main character.

She just had to wait patiently. Even if there was a high probability of being rescued.

‘The problem is the purpose of kidnapping me.’

If it’s because of the Elixir, she wouldn’t kill her. But for other reasons, for example, if it’s a successor issue she might try to kill her.

‘I can’t sleep like this. I need to find out what her purpose is.’

“Pi, is my body tied up now?”

At her question, Pi shook his head.

“Then I can escape if I wake up.”

“Continuing to try, failed. Failure.”

Pi’s eyes suddenly widened while repeating the word failure.

“Aria, are you dying? Are you going to die?”

“I am not dead yet. It’s fine.”

“No, you will die. If this continues, Aria will die. Never see her again. No!”

A rapidly uneasy determined Pi stomped his feet.

“Pi? What’s wrong with you all of a sudden?”

“Glamus.”

Pie followed her with a pale face.

“The surrounding materials, tools, environment, magic being prepared. Combination of clues. Comparison with the original. The most consistent conclusion, soul extraction. In other words, Glamus.”

Ariadne’s complexion also turned white. Wasn’t Glamus the thing that the Duke of Eldeer extracted from her soul in the original work? An item that allows non-spirituals to use spiritual magic. Because the main character used it all the time, it was a much more important item in the novel than ‘Ariadne Eldeer’ herself.

The purpose of her abductor had finally become clear.

“To make Glamus… She kidnapped me.”

The question of why this was at this point disappeared as soon as it came to mind. In the original work, the source of Duke Eldeer’s power was obviously the elixir, but the adopted daughter, who was famous as an elemental spirit, also played a significant role. The adopted daughter was absolutely loyal to the Duke because she knew the source of her power.

‘The Elixir disappeared, so they must have focused on developing the remaining Glamus. That’s why Glamus appeared much earlier than the original.’

Ariadne grabbed her dizzy hair. If their goal was Glamus, she would die soon, as Pi said. As soon as her soul was ready to be transferred, she would die. It was much easier and less likely to be found out if her soul was extracted than to take her alive to Eldeer.

She couldn’t afford to wait for rescue.

‘I have to get up right now. Right now. By what means? I’m in a drug-soaked state.’

While chewing on her lips, an idea suddenly came to her mind. A crazy thing she would never have tried.

“Pi.”

Pi sniffed and looked up at her. Ariadne asked, swallowing her dry saliva.

“Here, what am I in the fantasy library? It’s not like I’m teleporting here in real life. My body is sleeping.”

“…Aria?”

“I’ve been thinking about it all along.”

“Pi is not sure what Aria is saying all of a sudden.”

“Watching things like the way I go in and out of the fantasy library, how Pi can call me in or out, how Pi can roughly sense what’s going on around me, things like that.”

She continued her words as she approached the golden bookshelf.

“The elemental magic in this world is a way in which the spirits open a passage to their souls and connect to the great spirits.”

“Passage?”

“Yeah, that. Through that passage, it became possible for the Great Spirit to communicate with the Spirit and to observe what the Spirit is doing. In the meantime, the Elementalist will be able to use the power of the Great Spirit.”

“Why is Aria talking about spiritism?”

“That, isn’t it very similar to going to and from the fantasy library? I borrow the power of the fantasy library while communicating with you, and you can observe me.”

Pi’s mouth gaped blankly. The little boy asked with a serious expression.

“Is Pi a great spirit? Is he connected to Aria?”

“Well, I don’t know. Pi is unique in many ways to be called a great spirit. Even my going to and from the fantasy library is strange enough to be called spiritism, right?”

She rummaged through her shelf of Pi’s favorite things in the corner of the golden bookshelf. She had obviously seen Pi put it there before.

“Anyway, with the exception of the peculiarities, if you try to interpret it by forcibly fitting it into spirit magic…”

Found! Ariadne reached for the bundle of handkerchiefs lying in the corner.

“…Pi is the great spirit of the fantasy library, and the fantasy library exists somewhere in Pi’s territory. I guess you could say I’m an elementalist with a channel connected to the fantasy library in my soul.”

“But, Aria, it’s strange. Direct conversation with the Great Spirit is impossible. Direct contact with the passage is also not possible. Humans cannot do that.”
