Konrad’s Adventures In The Multiverse.

Chapter 33 - A big snakes grief and a small snakes comfort.

Konrad exchanged many letters with his godfather in the following days, and Konrad came to a realization that Sirius is a really fun guy and he really cares about Konrad. They decided to meet each other at Christmas. Sirius, Lovegoods and Grangers were all invited for a Christmas's dinner at Privet drive that Konrad might or might not have had his hands in it.

Remus was also invited but he tried to refuse. Of course when Konrad informed Sirius about it Remus got a cursed letter which changed his hair color purple. The letter of course said that the curse would disappear instantly when Lupin agrees to come so the amused werewolf finally got convinced.

The next days were filled with Konrad and the girls making the missing pieces of their main project, wherever they had time. But Konrad also joined Luna in a side project of creating special glasses that reflected magic. The reason for it was obvious. The basilisk. Konrad thought that he should do something about it as soon as possible. Even if there's practically no chance of it escaping and attacking anyone, it's still a huge thousand years old basilisk with a killing gaze and the most potent poison in the world. As much as he would prefer to save the big snake, if there's no way to reason with it then putting it down is the only way.

A weak later the glasses were ready and the trio went to the chamber of secrets.

"So... why is the entrance in the girls bathroom?" Hermione asked.

"Maybe Slytherin was a woman?" Said Luna.

"Or he liked to pretend being one?" Added Konrad with a smirk.

"Don't be stupid guys! There's no way Slytherin was a woman nor a transvestite!" Hermione Shouted.

"Pfff haha. Of course not Mione, we're just messing with you. He probably thought it to be the best place to hid it. No one would suspect a girl toilet to be the entrance of a powerful male wizard." Konrad replied.

"...hehe right I shouldn't have overreacted." Hermione said blushing from embarrassment.

"Alright who wants to open it?" Asked Konrad.

§"Can I do it Daddy!?"§ asked Cristal lying on his shoulder wearing tiny crimson protection glasses of her own.

§"of course Cristal! Suit yourself."§ replied Konrad.

§"Hihi alright... OPEN"§ Cristal said the frame and the sink opened revealing the entrance to the chamber of secrets.

"Cool." Said Luna.

"Well it's not really that complicated, it's a simple phrase triggered unlocking mechanism. The phrase was just said in the parseltongue making it hard to open for anyone other than Slytherin." Hermione supplied.

"Still it looked pretty cool." Said Luna.

"Alright alright maybe it did." Admitted Hermione, and smiled at Luna who smiled back.

"Well if it's like Mione says then it's probably possible to open it by someone who isn't parseltongue. They just need to hear someone say it and try hiss in the same way, right?" Konrad said. He remembered that Ron opened the chamber by supposedly doing exactly that in the Deathly Haloows, but who knows, maybe he is actually a parseltongue as well.

"Hmm I'm not sure. We would need to check it but since we all know parseltongue we have no actual test subject." Said Hermione.

"Well, no matter, lets go down there. We don't want to make the basilisk wait for us right?" Konrad said.

The girls shuddered. They were pretty worried about this adventure, but they trusted Konrad. They will do their best for him and together the Basilisk would have no chance against them.

Soon the trio jumped into the pipe and everyone landed at the bottom lightly with the help of a light levitation magic.

Konrad waved his hand and a ball of light appeared over their heads blighting the dark tunnel. They collected all the skin lying around and put into their pouches that Konrad enchanted to store at least three giant basilisks. The enchantment depended only on how much magic power you could supply to the space extension so Konrad could probably make it even bigger if he so wanted. He still couldn't make a suitcase like Scamander possessed but it probably needed just a little rune based technology and with the philosophers stone he could probably make something even bigger.

They walked deeper into the corridor finally arriving at the big doors to the actual Chamber.

This time it was Luna who opened the door, and the trio walked inside cautiously.

And everyone stopped in their tracks shocked. A huge dark green basilisk lied curled in the middle of the chamber. Konrad was expecting it to stay inside the giant statues mouth but it just lied out here! Then Konrad had a realization. 'Right! All these shedded skin, it had to be able to go out to do that! ' after the short realization Konrad told the girls (Cristal as well) to stay behind and he would try to talk with the snake first. 'What should I even say to this Basilisk?' He thought.

§"Hello! Would you mind if we talk for a while."§ He said lamely.

The giant basilisk turned around and Konrad saw the creatures eyes in their full. He felt shiver go down his spine but nothing happened to him other than it. 'Phew it works or the sight just doesn't work against parseltongue.

§"sssAnd who might you be? You can talk with me yet your not my master, you can look at me yet nothing happens to you. But I ssssmell a lot of juicy magic coming from you, you would be perfect for dinner, yesssss."§ said the basilisk in a voice that Konrad identified as somehow masculine.

§" My name isss Konrad Potter, I came here hoping to see what type of creature you were and I will put you down if you're a danger to other people."§ Konrad stated deciding not to hide his intentions.

§"sesese punny mortal, I'm going to feast on you and on everyone that oppose me. I promised my First master to never harm anyone living in the castle above, but he never stopped me from going further sesese."§ the giant snake said.

Everyone heard the words of the basilisk and they knew that nothing could be done. The Basilisk was dangerous and they had to take care of him. The snake was getting ready to attack.

"Girls! Talking didn't work! Time for plan B!" He said and jumped to the side propelling himself with magic dodging the snakes attack which broke one of the snake statues.

Hermione thrown a barrage of ice spikes at the snake in a rapid fire, distracting the snake who had to dodge the projectiles after being surprised when one of them actually pierced his hard skin. Cristal created a powerful illusion hiding the work of Luna while Luna made a show of powerful transfiguration making the room practically fold on itself trapping the snake from all sides leaving only its head out of the stone. The stone was cracking when the snake tried to rip himself out of it. He was really ashamed of letting himself het trapped that easily. He only made a single attack before he went into defensive, what would other basilisks say if they knew. He was about to break free when suddenly a crimson color flashed in front of his eyes and after a short pain in the forehead the thousand Year old basilisk went limp, lifeless. Konrad stood on his head, in his hand a sword made out of crimson crystal dripping equally crimson blood of the basilisk onto the floor.

"We won..." Konrad said, yet his expression was sad. Such a magnificent creature, and he had to take its life because of its dangerous preferences. He hoped that the basilisk would join them, maybe Cristal could teach him to shrink? Yet it ended like this. None of them felt happy. It was a little as if they killed a person. In the end they could communicate with it so it wasn't just a veil creature. They collected the spoils and went back to their common room after leaving the spoils in the Lab.

That evening the trio plus snake spend hugging together over the fire in the common room. People saw them hugging because Konrad didn't bother hiding it today. He was just not in the mood to do anything. Some people wanted to approach them but they saw their expressions and decided to ask later. Konrad's magic acted practically on its own spreading a human repelling effect around them. Even the Twins didn't bother them. That actually made the girls fell a little better. They weren't yet proclaiming around that they were together but what they were doing now showed that their ties were closer than people thought. The girls snuggled into konrad's side and continued talking quietly.

"There was no other way right?" Konrad said.

"Yes. The basilisk was already vile, there was no other way." Hermione tried to reassure Konrad and herself.

"That's true, I felt no good intent in its voice. We couldn't save it anymore." Added Luna.

Cristal lied there silently contemplating and finally said.

§" at firssst I wanted to get along with him but he wasss a bad sssnake. Hisss idealsss were completely againsssst Daddy'sss! I don't regret what we did Daddy, Mommiesss. Pleassse don't fell bad about it anymore."§ Cristal said.

The trio looked at each other and smiled finally after hearing Cristals words.

"Our little Cristal always knows how to make us happy, right girls?" Konrad said and everyone snuggled the little snake who was now visible after the last person went to their dorms.
