First, let’s address a very important question: Did Yan ultimately recover?

Actually, my initial thoughts were already expressed in the text with this sentence: “Even if the scars can’t be healed, the two will still move forward with those wounds.”

In my understanding, his best state should be like this.

So what I wanted to convey in this story is that everyone will live with some regrets to varying degrees. These regrets cannot be compensated for, just like a part of the body.

And there’s nothing wrong with Yan being like this. He still loves Zhong, and Zhong loves him just the same. They have a happy and harmonious family, which I believe is enough.

However, I didn’t want to disappoint everyone, so I added that last sentence. If you want to interpret it as Yan recovering, that’s also possible.

Now, let’s talk about the naming aspect. Although it’s about “lack of love,” there’s also a part I wanted to write about family relationships.

But I didn’t want to simply create a tragic story, nor did I want to portray Yan’s mother as too good. I wanted it to be a process of opposition, understanding, and acceptance.

Although many people might dislike Yan’s mother, from a realistic perspective, she’s not that bad. She’s just a bit extreme in her words and actions. At least in the end, she reflects on her behavior and doesn’t cause more pain (′°`)

However, personal preferences vary, and there’s no need to force it.

Li Qi and Lian Siqiao’s progress will be written in the extras because they will face some obstacles. I felt that including it in the main story might disrupt the atmosphere, so I moved it to the extras.

Actually, every time I write, I have many thoughts, but once I finish, my mind goes blank.
