The family gathering is an event that akes place every 3 years where all the superpowers in the Zhen Empire with exception to the royal family gather together and allow their disciples to compete with one another.

The competition although fierce,is ultimately not supposed to be lethal.For the top achievers,they would nonetheless gain precious rewards which would allow them to improve further.

The first place would also gain 10 High-Grade Spirit stones which are very precious due to the pure scarcity of it in the world.

Not only that,1 High-grade spirit stone can be exchanged for 1000 Medium-grade spirit stones while 1 Medium-grade spirit stone would be equivalent to 100 Low grade Spirit stones

However,no one would willingly exchange higher-tiered stones for lower-tier stones as although the Qi in the overall amout are about the same,the higher the grade of Sporit stone,the higher the quality which means higher purity.

The purer one's Qi is,The stronger it will get and thus the potency of it would be higher which would allow one to have an increase in martial prowess.

For example,A peak rank 12 Novice with a high purity of qi would be able to overpower a cultivator whose cultivation is at rank 2 Adept.

This is why,although there are three superpowers working together and contributing to it,there are only 10 High-grade spirit stones for the First place.Yet,one cannot complain due to the preciousness of said stones.

The family powers in the Zhen Empire in the mortal world ranking from strongest to weakest are:Zhen,Soh,Meng and Ling.

The Zhen family is obviously the Royal family in the Empire and while the Zhen clan is stronger in this world,overall it could still be easily crushed like an ant.

This is evident in how the Zhen clan cannot even place in the top 50 Clans,which shows their lack of qualifications in challenging the Soh,Meng and Ling clans which are respectively ranked from the top 5.

This is why the Zhen clan in the Empire accomodates the three clans and allows them to be as strong as themselves;even assisting them to the point that they rival each other!

This is mainly because if they were to retaliate,the main clans above could effortlessly obliterate their clan by sending a few Hero step Cultivators or even a legend step cultivator.

This is why the four clans are in a quasi-alliance and mainly resolve things peacefully.

They would actively try not to offend each other and would work together to suppress rising powers.

They would actually work together at the same time and cooperate with each other's plans as long as it was not detrimental.

Not to mention the fact that the Soh and Meng clans have been allies since primordial times.

This is why the clans mainly do not bother each other and instead opt to leave each other alone as with exception to the Zhen clan,they are similar in prowess overall.
