Lucky Riot And The Mystic Dragon

Chapter 63 - King Serpent Ascending Steps

"You have made your own decisions for your own reasons." Lucky Riot's voice was strangely cold and distant. It felt like he had just m.a.t.u.r.ed quite a bit. He walked towards the departing teachers as he continued, "I will not stand in your way, nor will I hold you to our arrangement. Marrying you was never my own d.e.s.i.r.e in the first place, but one that was forced on to the both of us. I have no need for a woman who wants to belong to someone else. Consider that we are mere acquaintances each other from here on out."

Violet Mercy was utterly stunned for a moment, as she stared at that departing back. She felt an undeniably intense sense of loss and regret. This was a feeling that increased with every step that tall figure took.

Wasn't this... a rejection?

From his words earlier, didn't Lucky consider her... dirty?

The Violet Mercury of this moment looked a lot paler. She felt sick to her stomach.

Her body took a couple of steps forward before she stopped. In a daze, she whispered in a broken and brittle voice as she looked away, "Luc.. ky… I… I'm sorry… It's already too... too late."

More than 200 meters away, Jim Mercury observed this from the balcony of one of the regular senior dormitories using a mystic eye art. On the bed behind him, two female students were sleeping. Their beautiful n.a.k.e.d bodies were sprawled across the bed. Their skin contained slight perspiration and a red tint, making it evident that they just exercised fiercely.

Jim frowned as he observed that pained expression on Violet's face. He didn't know what the conversation went like, but that Lucky didn't seem to be very hurt at all. He had even kissed her, damn it! Now, only the woman was injured.

"Perhaps I should change my approach?" Jim suddenly felt that his execution in this plan had lacked somewhere.

He pulled out a communication device, and a light panel appeared in front of him. After a few low chimes, a voice was heard, "Young boss James?"

"The boy is leaving the campus now. Inform that drunken idiot that his chance has arrived. Do not let him rally too many people." Jim Mercury didn't wait for a response before closing the device and returning to the room. He slapped the a.s.s of one of the sleeping girls hard, startling her back awake with a yelp. He then mounted her from behind, and they galloped all over the bed.

After venting his frustrations for a few breaths, he fell on top of her exhausted. Unseen by Jimmy, the young lady wore disdain on her face as she rolled her eyes and wiggled to free her body from invasion.

"I'm going to use the resources boss sent me to breakthrough to the peak-phase of the tenth level, completely forming my essence sea! After that, I'll be ready to condense my first profound essence orb!" Jim Mercury felt rather good about himself right now. He had his plan outlined out, "I know boss wanted me to cuckold this brat, for whatever reason. However, he doesn't seem to lack attention. These are high profile females, it would be difficult to steal them or date them at all. Hmph. Since I can't break his dao heart by stealing his women, I'll just break him! How much of a threat could he be after I'm done crippling his origin?"

Outside of the Thoth Academy gates, Lucky Riot had just walked up when he saw the school's luxury vehicle, the masterpiece of magic and technology - the Sky Bus, light up brightly as it rose and levitated. A second later, the Sky Bus jet away swiftly, to Lucky's awe and dismay.

He just missed the bus...

"Well, this sucks," Lucky Riot was super annoyed now. How could they leave without him? But he soon saw five youths he didn't know and Nevara Mercy next to a teacher. This teacher turned out to be Scarlet Mercury!

"You're in luck, brat," Scarlet Mercury maintained the image of someone that despised Lucky. Since they were in a very public place, Lucky was naturally fine with this. Scarlet giggled in her sarcastic and obnoxious manner, which gave Lucky the creeps. However, in her heart, she was hoping her little man wouldn't take risks, "Listen punk, you missed the first run. Now you have to wait for the Sky Bus to return. You don't have to worry about competing for any big treasures, and you can just settle for the lower tier items like your peers here, hehe."

"How long until the Sky Bus returns?" asked Lucky Riot without moving an inch. He noticed the look in Scarlet's eyes, but he wasn't currently in the mood to be around Nevara, whose looks favored her sister a lot.

"Up to two hours, maybe longer due to delays," replied Scarlet Mercury coldly, however inwardly, she was growing worried by looking at Lucky's impatient looking face. She received intel that there was an ambush for him somewhere out there, but she hadn't had the time to tell him as of yet. This damnable boy didn't keep a communication device on him for some reason. So all she could do was plead with her eyes, "Listen to me, Riot. Don't you think of going out there alone, you'll never make it in time. If you even make it at all."

'If I ever make it? Could it be she knows something about Silver Mercury? Am I going to be attacked?' this thought had never occurred to Lucky Riot until now. However, was he afraid of an attack? It would take one of the city's powerhouses to deal with the current Lucky, 'No matter. They already sent a Young Savage after me, what's the point in hiding?'

Lucky merely smirked at Scarlet, before turning into a swift stream of mystic after-images as he rushed into the distance. The surrounding students were all stunned seeing this movement technique, it was magnificent. However, they thought they were watching a fool. How could a Hard Body Stage warrior catch up to the Sky Bus?

"Does that big dummy really think that he will be able to catch them?" asked Nevara Mercy with a pout. She thought she would finally get a chance to talk to Lucky without her sister around. Lucky had always been really nice to her and had even saved her life twice before! Nevara felt like this life already belonged to that man. She wanted to repay his kindness somehow. She was a little excited to do so after all this time, but he simply slithered away like a magic snake again.

It was like he was avoiding her.

"Could something have happened between him and sissy?" Nevara mumbled to herself. Scarlet raised a brow at this. Due to her cultivation, she was the only one present who could hear Nevara's low words.

"Not a chance in hell will he make it," said Timmy Casque from next to her, as he sneered playfully, "I look forward to seeing his face when we pass by him on the returned Sky Bus."

"You would do better to focus on your own Mystic Beast Trial, Casque. Or do you think Mystic Beasts are going to cuddle you?" sneered Scarlet Mercury. She didn't like hearing others disparage Lucky, only she could do so in public.

"Yes, Magus Mercury."

Meanwhile, there was a red blur streaking across the town. Images of a snake-man in vermillion robes appeared through the city. Lucky Riot would have to run at top speed to reach the Sky Bus in time to depart from the county with Aubrey. If he missed this chance, the little beauty would definitely blame him for standing her up.

Actually, he didn't mind this journey at all! It was the perfect time for him to practice his movement mystic art, Divine Serpent Surfing the Skies! He had already practiced the first two styles of this mystic art to the Perfection level!

When using the second style, his speed would increase by seven times. He could run as fast as a sports car going full throttle! Running was actually what he d.e.s.i.r.ed to do the most right now, as he had long since felt restrained. So far, Lucky had failed to practice the third style at all!

For Lucky, this was unusual. He never had a problem learning new techniques. His profound instinct made it even more comfortable.

"Now that I've practiced the second style of the Divine Serpent Surfing the Skies to the perfection level, I can teach it to Capp." Lucky knew from experience that it was impossible to impart a technique to someone before you had reached the level of mastery it at a minimum. However, the more proficiency you had in art, the better you could teach it. "This movement technique is truly very suitable for him. As for me, I believe I will reach great perfection of the second style, King Serpent Ascending Steps, before too long. The third style is a bit tricky… I'll try it out on the way!"

Using his King Serpent Ascending Steps, a white-clothed young man with vermillion light armor and robes was currently traveling at more than 200 miles per hour. The mystic light covering his legs made his subtle movements appear to be the tail of a snake rapidly surfing through the streets like a serpent in a mud-land.
