Mana: Goddess Of Destiny

Chapter 5 - 5: Hero’s Chronicle, Breton Hall

Glass was making her way back from Jeju forest with the Deacon and his friends. To make it a long story short, she makes the trio her followers.

While close to the entrance she heard her Maxfield's voice. She took a step out to see a crowd of guards at the entrance of the forest and Maxfield giving an encouraging speech. The guards noticed her immediately approaching Maxfield but too stunned to say anything. The trio stayed at the entrance as Glass approached Maxfield. Deacon locked at Maxfield with murderous eyes

Maxfield notices the strange looks on the guards before he turned around to see what they were looking at. A small tug on his shirt caught his attention, as he looked down at the little girl who was staring up at him. For a moment he thought he saw things as his comatose daughter was staring at him, she had been injured.

"Fath..." before Glass had said anything Maxfield had pulled her into a tight hug. He was trembling as he held her, the hug was gentle but filled with so much emotion. She had forgotten that Maxfield at the end of the day was a doting father. Deacon calmed down after seeing that because it was something he also forgotten. Glass noted that his murderous gaze had disappeared.

"Father, those people saved me" Glass had pointed at Deacon and his friends.

"For saving my daughter, you have My thanks," Maxfield said gratefully

"Follow us to Hall estate to receive your rewards" the trio nodded in response after they glanced at Glass. They followed Maxfield and the rest of the guards back to the estate. As soon as they got to the estate, Maxfield had paid the trio and given them a job as guards as for Glass he made her see a doctor.

She signed after the doctor left. Glass needed to be more careful she allowed herself to get a board which caused this situation. Fate also changes based on her emotions. Byakko loss was also due to her feelings.

By now Deacon and the other two should have explained her supposed rescue. She got up from the chair of the main room and walked towards Maxfield's office.

"aww" Glass hears a female voice from outside she runs towards the sound. A crackling sound was also heard.

"hahaha" A child's voice could be heard "I am Breton Hall I demand respect," the child swung a whip around and was hitting nearby maids.

"Young master, please calm yourself," one of the maids said.

"Silence, how dare you tell me what to do." He said

Breton Hall, Glass was a little upset that this brat was her younger brother, he may have been indulged too much. This scene is very troublesome, and Glass runs to block the incoming attack from the maid. The wipe smacks her harshly on her cheek. Both the maids and Breton were somewhat shocked at her sudden appearance.

"How dare you interrupt my punishment towards this subordinate!" Breton screamed "I demand you compensate."

"Compensate? How?" She stared at her bratty brother

"You will take this beating," He said as he waved his whip to hit Glass who caught it. "How dare you catch my whip, I am Breton Hall, I demand respect" he shrieked at her making her snatch the whip and handled with professionalism.

"Breton Hall, as a child of the Hall family line, your behavior is unbecoming of our noble lineage. I, Glass Hall, your elder sister shall teach right from wrong" Glass said coldly with an air of arrogance.

This little brother of hers needs to be taught. Breton was stunned at what Glass said for a moment.

"You Liar," He said, "Breton Hall, has no sister."

"You mean to tell me that I am not."

"Yes, my sister is dead" he huffed "Meaning she does not exist."

Glass was confused for a second, what he said didn't make quite much sense to her.

"Father keeps a corpse that he calls my sister here, she does not wake, so she must be dead. Therefore, I have no sister."

"OH" Glass was wondering where vocabulary from is "Well, your sister is here, I am no corpse."

"You Lie"

"Sir." Glass hears one of the maids behind her. Maxfield had arrived to see that his two children seem to be in a spat.

"Father" Breton had run to Maxfield "this liar has dared to impersonate my sister."

"Breton she is your sister."

"Impossible, my sister is a corpse."

"What?"

"All the maids said so. She is a corpse" Maxfield looked at the maids who had their faces down in shame.

Glass had scoffed "Little brother, you talk to maids too much. Have you not already understood that they are prone to gossip"?

"Gossip?"

"Unconstrained conversation about other people that are not confirmed to be true." She paused as he might not understand the meaning. "Meaning not everything the maids say is true."

"What? They lied" Breton was shocked

"Yes, it also should be noted that they should never talk about the household they served under, as they may lose their jobs. Little brother maids are nothing more than servants, should they need punishment fire them."

"Fire them, you mean burn them." He said

"No, you make them lose their jobs."

"How does that help?"

"Little Bother, our household employs them, we pay them a lot of money to do their job and not cause disp.l.e.a.s.u.r.e."

"Money?" he still didn't understand

"You see Little brother. Money can get you a lot of this, the outfit you wear coats money, If Father doesn't have money you can't eat nor wear clothes, you even wouldn't be allowed to call yourself

Breton Hall."

"What?!" Breton said as tears started to form in his eyes "If I don't have money, I can't call myself Breton Hall."

"Yes," Glass said with a straight face, making Maxfield broke out laughing, his daughter was binging the little Devil she was. "I shall take little brother to the back garden to play. I'm sure you must be terribly busy."

"Breton go with your sister," He said understanding the business she meant. Breton had followed Glass to back, Glass had a sly smile on her face. The Gossiping maid of Hall estate has been annoying flees since she was a child and now, they will be taken care. His very scary older sister will now discipline her little brother Breton and will henceforth, be led on the path of righteousness from here on out. As soon as the two were out of sight Maxfield smiled at the maids in the area, its time to do a clean.

That day many maids had been let go of their jobs.
