Ji Xuexi’s uncle’s surname is Song, and his name is Song Huaijin. He is the director of the brick kiln factory in Jinyang, and has many contacts as well as excellent relations with the government. There are several people from the Song family who work in the government.

In contrast, the Ji family had fallen out of grace a long time ago, and even lost their official position. Had it not been for the protection of the Song family, they might have became farmers.

The community they lived in was different from those of other people’s too. Those people lived in tube-shaped apartments [1], but they lived in a beautiful small building, almost like a miniature mansion.

Ji Xuexue liked coming before, but that changed when he grew older and more sensible. After knowing his cousin’s true colours, he didn’t like coming anymore. Last year during Chinese New Year, they had a conflict. That was the last time he came.

He came over today only because of the thought he had.

It’s not just him. Many people from the Ji family and even the Song family speculated Song Yu’an wasn’t an illegitimate. He looked completely different from the others, as he was incredibly plain. But…he had a heart disease.

Song Yu’an’s great-grandfather also passed away from a heart disease, and it was hereditary. There wasn’t any reliable way to check for parentage aside from blood type either. Song Yuan has blood type B, and uncle did as well, so no one really doubted it.

Ji Xuexi disliked Song Yu’an because he disregarded the Ji family. Yes, the Ji family only survives because of the Song family, but his mother was also of the Ji family!

Even a skinny camel is bigger than a horse. Their Ji family wasn’t as prominent as before, but they haven’t died out yet!

But he digressed. The young man he met this morning had exacerbated his initially minuscule suspicion to a level where he had to ask.

There was another reason. From his young wife, he knew the young man’s parents’ attitude toward him was strange. And their birth dates were the same, while their appearances…

What a coincidence.

People don’t move around a lot nowadays. If they hadn’t met, they might’ve never met, but…

Ji Xuexue knew this was just a hunch, and if he was wrong, he might have been loathed by his aunt and uncle from then on.

But he wouldn’t regret it. If it’s true, anyone would be a better cousin than Song Yu’an!

He is doing this for the entire Song family!

With this chunni idea of his [2], Ji Xuexue came to the door of Song family’s house.

The aunt he hasn’t seen in a long time was still beautiful. Her eyebrows were slightly raised, showing the spirit in her peach blossom eyes. Her slender waist was twisted slightly, and one hand was on her hips. “Come over!”

However, despite her fierce expression, she didn’t seem too unhappy. Yes, she was slightly bitter, but she wasn’t looking down on him.

This is the difference between my aunt and my cousin. My cousin is really inferior!

Ji Xuexue lowered his head in shame, his momentum turned into embarrassment, “Auntie…”

Ji Ya huffed and said, “Come in!”

Ji Xuexue entered the house quietly. When he was a child, his aunt and him had a good relationship, but they became out of touch when he grew up. Although she looked fierce, she wouldn’t hurt him.

He hadn’t been here for a long time, and he was a little unfamiliar with this house, so he sat on the sofa and scanned around. When he saw no one else, he asked his aunt, “Aunt, is uncle at home?”

“No, there’s something going on at the factory, but he’ll be back soon. Stay here for dinner later, alright? By the way, tell your parents.” Ji Ya exhorted.

Ji Xueyue nodded and immediately went to call them.

After telling his parents, he heard the sound of his uncle and Song Yuan coming back. He took a look, and his heart was like a beating drum. The pounding became more intense, and the palm of his hand was sweaty. He touched the tip of his nose. Beads of sweat appeared as he said, “Uncle, I want to tell you something. Shall we go to the study?”

Song Huaijin is a handsome middle-aged man, looks very elegant. Even in his middle-ages, he was still tall and slender, with sharp eyes. He looked very refined in his good dress.

Time has made his appearance less handsome, but his foundation still exists.

Perhaps because of the expectations in his heart, Ji Xuexue felt his uncle and the young man were father and son more and more.

Song Huaijin smiled and nodded. “Okay.”
