Marvel: My Own Path

Chapter 6 - I Have a Sister?

New York City, Queens, 11 Wayland Street.

In this dark and quiet street, an old house that was seemingly made up of red bricks with tanned-brick decorations, stood isolated away from other houses.

Standing before the wooden door, Skye took out the key that was in his earlier bloodied clothes and inserted it into the keyhole.

Katcha.

With a slight push, the door slightly creaked while opening before the dark interior of the house came into his view.

When Skye entered and closed the door, a strange expression appeared on his face.

"What a weird feeling... this house feels so familiar and unfamiliar at the same time..."

'I guess I really am Skye Hunt now. I have died and was reborn in this world, this body's previous owner, 'his' feelings, his memories, his d.e.s.i.r.es and wishes, they've become mine now too.' he thought.

Shaking his head, Skye went past the living room and directly went to the house's second floor.

Seeing a total of three bedrooms, Skye simply went past the first room. However, just as he was about to proceed to the third room at the end of the corridor, which was his room, he suddenly stopped.

Staring at the door which had childing drawings and pinkish decorations and stickers, Skye's body froze up stiffly as if he was electrocuted.

"Jade's Room!!" he muttered under his breath before his eyes lost focus.

At that moment, a figure of a little girl that was about 9 to 10 years old, appeared on his mind.

"Jade Lee Hunt... my sister?" dazed, Skye's heart jumped up as the long lost word 'family', to him, echoed in his heart.

"The system's existence, my rebirth in this world, the fusion of memories, I guess all these information were too much to take in and digest in mere minutes..." smiling wryly, Skye shook his head.

Holding his chin, Skye started to gather all the memories and information in his head that were related to his sister and his parents.

From his body's previous owner's memories, this is what he had gathered:

1.) Jade was 9 years old, she's at 4th Grade and goes to the Midtown Elementary School which was located in the Forest Hills. Jade is currently in her year-class field trip and would only return home a week from now.

2.) It's been almost two months since their parent's death, however, the 'old Skye' never told his sister about their parent's tragic death, but instead told her that their parents were in an important business trip abroad and would probably take a long time to finish.

3.) The most shocking discovery that the 'former Skye' had found out while 'he' searched for clues about their parent's death was that their parents worked for a secret government agency. However, other than the information about their parents being secret agents, the 'former Skye' wasn't able to find any tracks or sources that would lead him to that said secret agency.

4.) Their parents were killed by the mysterious organization, the Hand.

When Skye finished digging deeper in the 'former Skye's' memories, other than the urge to get his revenge and decimate the Hand, he was also filled with nervousness.

Yes, nervousness. The Earth's former number one assassin, although forced to be one, at this moment, was nervous and agitated.

Opening the door, he stepped into little Jade's room.

What greeted his eyes was the pink-colored walls, the pink-colored duvet, and pillows, the pink-colored plush toys, nearly everything in the room was pink!

However, Skye seemed to have not noticed this as he walked towards the desk by the bed.

Staring at the picture frames standing on the desk, he picked up one of them.

There were four people in it, his parents, his little sister, and himself, or in this case, the former Skye.

Both his parents were good-looking.

Ethan Hunt, his father, was born and raised in New York while his mother, Michelle Lee Hunt, was half-Filipino half-Chinese and was raised in Beijing.

Staring at the two figures who had already passed away, unconsciously, trickles of teardrops flowed down from his eyes.

Touching his face, Skye was silent for a moment before putting his right hand above his c.h.e.s.t, feeling his heartbeat.

With a sorrowful tone, he muttered. "My heart and soul mourns for the two of you, mother, father. May both of you rest in peace, leave all your grievances and resentments down here on Earth.

His eyes full of coldness, the room's temperature dropped significantly. "I will be the one to resolve them in your places."

'The Hand... you all better wash your necks, it won't be long before I claim them.'

Shifting his eyes on the small figure in the picture, Skye's heart that was full of murderous intent instantly disappeared as a warm smile appeared on his face.

"My last remaining family... my sister," he muttered quietly as flashes of memories of their interactions appeared in his head.

Putting down the picture frame gently above the desk, he looked around the room once more before walking out, his eyes full of resolve.

'I swear on my heart that I will keep you safe from all dangers and make sure that you live your whole life happy.'

Thinking of his sister once more, he couldn't help but laugh. "Although I've forgotten what it felt like to be a child to your parents, although I don't know much about being a big brother, from now on, I will try my best; I'll try my best to be a good big brother, a caring mother, and a protective father to you."

His heart full of both expectations and nervousness, he walked out of the door and headed to his room.

Lying down on his bed, Skye closed his eyes.

At this moment, he felt like he hadn't taken a single wink of sleep for a month.

This day, to him, felt like an eternity and an instant at the same time.

Eventually descending into sleep, Skye took his first rest after entering this world.

The next day.

Beside the bed, an alarm clock stood atop a desk. Just as the time shown on its screen hit 6:00, Skye woke up, feeling refreshed.

Stretching his arms, he smiled. "The last time I slept this good when was that again... I was probably less than 5 years old or something."

Shaking his head, he got up and fixed his bed before heading straight into the bathroom to take a shower.

A while later, Skye opened the shower curtains and stepped out with damp hair and a bath towel covering his lower body.

Walking in front of a mirror, he wiped the vapor on its surface and took a good look on himself.

Although he had the blood of an American from his father, Asia's oriental appearance which he had gotten from his mother, still triumphed.

He had jet-black hair and a pair of phoenix eyes that were the color of blue, giving him an exotic yet attractive appearance. His eyebrows were sword-like while his features sharp.

With a face that screamed the perfect mixture of western and oriental features, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that his face was as if it was sculpted by gods themselves

This was the first time that he had 'properly' seen himself other than from the 'former' Skye's memories.

When he saw his appearance, Skye couldn't help but feel that he looked kind of the same as he did back in his previous life.

(Author: No sarcasm or narcissicm here!)

Of course, the reason why Skye only had a faint feeling and wasn't sure was that his face on his last life was too scarred and disfigured!

He had long forgotten what he looked like.

And now, when he looked at his reflection in the mirror, he felt the hint of familiarity coming from inside him, it was as if it came from his soul.

Removing these thoughts in his head, Skye unboxed a new toothbrush and brushed his teeth before exiting the bathroom.

Right when he had just finished putting on clothes, Skye felt a surge of Qi gather around him before entering his body.

And it didn't just stop there, without his knowledge, all the Qi in the surrounding kilometer or two were being drawn towards him before being devoured by Skye, who was currently sitting cross-legged, trying to feel the strange formless energy.

A few seconds later...

Pop!

A minuscule sound of an explosion came from Skye's body.

At that moment—

System: [Congratulations Skye, the cultivation technique Tyrannical Champion Physique has now stepped into level 1! There are four more levels to go before you reach grand completion!]

(Author: It was level 0 previously. PS: It'll take Skye a while to reach the skill's completion.)

Relishing on the p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e that was brought by both the Qi and his breakthrough, Skye enjoyed the moment for a few seconds before noticing that there wasn't much improvement on his strength.

Although he could feel that his strength had indeed increased, it was but a minuscule amount.

He looked at his hand in with a frown, but before he could even say anything, golden energy in the form of a small flickering flame appeared on his hand's surface.

Meanwhile...

New York, Manhattan, in the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier that was tens of thousands of meters up in the sky,

"Sir, take a look at this." said a man in a matching black suit and pants. "There was a strange movement and gathering of bio-electric energy in Queens just a few seconds ago." When he finished, he handed the high-tech tablet in his hands to the man who had his back facing him.

Wearing a black coat, the bald, dark-skinned man turned around, revealing a solemn face with an eye-patch on his left eye.
