Chapter 40 – Head Hating On The Ground.

“Your tables, chairs, and cushions have all my scent, Teacher Bai.” Lang Jing Feng observed Bai Ruan’s expression carefully and said unhurriedly.

When Bai Ruan was teased, he used to glare at him, and his lips would be slightly pursed in sullenness. Lang Jing Feng didn’t know what other people thought of this expression. However, his heart was itchy every time he saw it and he couldn’t help but always want to tease Bai Ruan.

Bai Ruan stretched his arms and pressed the switch of the small fan sitting at the table. He seemed to see through Lang Jing Feng’s intentions and deliberately made an expressionless look, replying indifferently, “Blow and it would disperse.”

Lang Jing Feng was silent for a moment, lowered his voice, and said in a secret-telling tone, “Your home also… on the bed, in the study, on the sofa, it is full of wolf scent, even on you… if there were other demons whose noses are excellent in smelling, they will be able to definitely smell that you and I are secretly living together.”

Bai Ruan furrowed his brows, thinking that he couldn’t catch up with Lang Jing Feng. The more awkward he got, the more his hair stood, so he resisted the attack and only calmly corrected the other party’s ambiguous words, “It’s not that we are secretly living together. You helped me deal with wolves while I tutored you in your studies. It was all above board with nothing to hide.”

“Above board with nothing to hide?” Lang Jing Feng smiled, kicking Bai Ruan’s calf under the table, his slightly mysterious tone was full of forbidden hints, “Teacher Bai, when I was washing up this morning, I didn’t spare your toothbrush and towel. In addition, the things hanging in the bathroom…”

Bai Ruan would usually hang clothes on the lifting hanger beside the bedroom window, and only…some small pieces of close-fitting clothes were hung in the bathroom.

“You…” Bai Ruan hurriedly retracted the calf that was kicked by Lang Jing Feng. He was so embarrassed that his butt was almost burning in shame. His icey expression instantly broke, and he glared at Lang Jing Feng. “What did you do?”

“I just touched it a few times, and left my scent on it.” The docile milk dog mask that Lang Jing Feng wore on his face these days seemed to have been melted by the event of “Living with Teacher Bai”. The handsome face showed a brutal and unreasonable arrogance as he said, “Our canine family likes to mark our territory with our scent.”

Speaking of using scent to mark the territory, Bai Ruan’s mind immediately brought up a terrible picture of a young wolf burrowing into the rabbit hole, rolling on the floor and peeing in it.

“Continue to write your homework. Don’t think about those messy things.” Bai Ruan scolded in a low voice. Lang Jing Feng was a little relieved and obediently immersed himself in answering questions.

Time passed quietly. At half past ten, the school bell rang for the third year students. There were noisy movements of tables, chairs and footsteps upstairs. Bai Ruan raised his chin and signaled Lang Jing Feng to go up to the third floor.

Today was the 2nd of June. Before the college entrance examination on the 7th, there would be two and a half days of holiday. That was to say, the senior high school students would still go to self-study in the evening tomorrow. In the eyes of this final battle before the war, even for unknown students, Bai Ruan wouldn’t allow them to have accidents because of this kind of thing.

It was easy to talk about things that didn’t happen, but ordinary people would be helpless when they encountered them, so even if there were only two days left, they shouldn’t leave it all to fate and luck.

The students on the third floor hadn’t finished leaving the premises yet, and a few students passed by them when they went upstairs. Bai Ruan slid one hand into his trouser pocket and rubbed the two pieces of chalk inside. As soon as he stepped up the last stair with one foot, he heard a muffled sound coming from the end of the corridor.

“Did you hear that?” Bai Ruan asked.

“…I didn’t hear it.” Lang Jing Feng’s ears moved.

“He came out, and really picked a time when the students had just finished school. I guess he wanted to catch them alone.” Bai Ruan looked at the other, and walked around the corner in front of the stairs a few steps, standing still at the end of the corridor.

At that place, which seemed a little gloomy because of its long depth, there was a man standing upside down.

His handstand style was rather unique, his whole body was straight as if he was standing in a military position, his hands were stiffly attached to the trousers of his legs, and he only relied on his bloody head against the ground to maintain his balance.

Most of the classrooms in this corridor had turned off their lights and locked their doors. A girl carrying a schoolbag walked out of a classroom with the lights on and walked in the direction of an inverted ghost without knowing it was dangerous. Bai Ruan quickly followed and kept a distance of about two meters from the girl. Lang Jing Feng followed Bai Ruan closely. The girl heard footsteps behind her and turned her head to look over.

It was reasonable to say that the third year students wouldn’t know the teachers of the second years, but Bai Ruan’s face was so eye-catching, the girl immediately recognised that this was the famous handsome Chinese teacher at the school. She greeted him shyly, “Hello, Teacher.”

“En,” Bai Ruan smiled at her, casually showing his concern, “Be careful on the way back. Is anyone picking you up?”

There was a trace of pure excitement on the girl’s delicate face when she was in close contact with the male god. She nodded and replied politely, “My father is here to pick me up. Thank you for your concern, Teacher.”

Lang Jing Feng’s eyebrows moved, and he took a close step to catch up with Bai Ruan in front of him, rubbed his chin on Bai Ruan’s shoulder and said coquettishly like a pet dog, “Owoo.”

The corners of Bai Ruan’s mouth twitched. “…”

Female student, “Uh…bye, Teacher.”

When the three of them were about to reach the stairway behind the inverted ghost, the ghost moved restlessly, and its pale and white face slowly turned to the girl’s feet which was in small leather shoes.

Just when it was about to attack the girl who looked the easiest to bully, Bai Ruan, who was behind, without warning, slapped him with a purification talisman.

Putting the purification talisman on the ghost was like pouring sulfuric acid on a person. The handstand ghost jumped wildly with pain and hissed, “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh—”

The blood gourd-like head slammed on the ground, making it worse, and the scarlet blood splashed on the ground and the nearby walls, showing a terrifying sight. But neither Lang Jing Feng nor the girl could see it. Although Bai Ruan wasn’t afraid of ghosts, herbivorous animals were inherently poorly resistant to bloody scenes, so he quickly turned his attention away and silently emphasised in his heart that “ghosts do not eat rabbits” as a spiritual comfort. He then calmly escorted the girl to the stairs.

At this time, there were no students in the other two lighted classrooms. It seemed that they all went down the stairs on the other side and were safe. For a time, only Lang Jing Feng and Bai Ruan were left on the third floor. The purification talisman stuck to the body of the inverted ghost sucked in enough yin air, and the burnt black paper fell off. The inverted ghost recovered from the severe pain and jumped viciously toward Bai Ruan, his bloodshot eyes fixed on Bai Ruan’s calves.

Lang Jing Feng couldn’t see ghosts, he could only see a piece of talisman paper originally floating in midair turning black and falling to the ground. Seeing that Lang Jing Feng wasn’t aware of the situation, Bai Ruan grabbed him and ran to the top of the stairs where he came from.

“You go downstairs to the classroom,” Bai Ruan pressed the class key into Lang Jing Feng’s hand, “Help me move a table and a chair over here”

“Will you be okay being here by yourself?” Lang Jing Feng was worried.

“It’s okay.” Thinking that if the innocent girl hadn’t encountered them just now, there was an 80% chance that she would have already become a corpse downstairs. Bai Ruan pulled out a stack of purification talisman, his brows and eyes revealed a rare look of ruthlessness, and he coldly said, “I won’t purify him to death.”

This fierce energy bursting out to protect the students added a bit of handsomeness to the usually gentle and easy-going Bai Ruan. Lang Jing Feng rarely saw Bai Ruan with such an appearance. His heart beat a few times and gave rise to some untimely thoughts.

“Hurry up.” Bai Ruan had no idea what the other was thinking and he pushed him anxiously.

Lang Jing Feng stared at him with scorching eyes, then turned and ran downstairs.

The inverted ghost flew all the way with his head down. Bai Ruan calmly slapped a few talismans on it. Under the natural limit set by the way of fighting head-to-foot, the inverted ghost’s movements were not very agile and it was too late to dodge so it screamed in agony.

“You deserved it.” Bai Ruan said angrily.

The inverted ghost shouted and jumped wildly.

Bai Ruan sighed, “You’re still jumping and walking. Can’t you learn from me? You still insist on harming others.”

It really discouraged the jumping character ghosts!

The purity talisman was less powerful. It could only be used to exorcise ghosts by making ghosts suffer and absorb Yin Qi to weaken the combat power of ghosts. So Bai Ruan had to use other methods.

It took less than a minute for Lang Jing Feng to go downstairs. He carried desks and chairs on his shoulders and returned to the third floor like the wind. Bai Ruan was being chased by the ghost, while commanding from a distance, “Put the table over there and the chairs on the table. Go up and turn off the hallway lights.”

Lang Jing Feng followed Bai Ruan’s instructions.

Bai Ruan ran to the end of the corridor and turned back in the direction of Lang Jing Feng in the dark. He was much faster than the ghost. He was walking the ghost rather than being chased by it. Running to the set table, Bai Ruan dexterously jumped onto the table, stepped on the chair, and then greeted Lang Jing Feng, “Climb up the table. Once you’re up, he won’t be able to see you.”

Lang Jing Feng stood on the table, and the inverted ghost who was chasing him couldn’t see his legs anymore. He immediately missed his target and then jumped around the desk a few times in a daze, angrily, before screaming and jumping away.

“I’ll draw an array.” Bai Ruan whispered, took out the white chalk in his trouser pocket, raised his hand high, and drew the array on the ceiling like writing on a blackboard.

“Why don’t you draw on the ground?” Lang Jing Feng asked.

“He can see the magic circle on the ground, and he certainly won’t jump in foolishly… Moreover, the white chalk can’t be seen when drawing things on the ceiling. This circle can be reused. If there are ghosts in the future, I won’t have to draw new ones. Bai Ruan explained as his hands kept moving, the chalk making a light creak when in contact with the ceiling, the soft white ash fell on the ground. Bai Ruan squinted his eyes and protected himself with his eyelashes, but some still managed to enter.

“Wu…” Bai Ruan lowered his head, wiped his eyes with his cuffs, and then blinked vigorously.

This action inexplicably revealed a kind of childish cuteness, Lang Jing Feng’s eyes flickered, and suddenly he threw a sentence, “Why turn off the corridor lights?”

“There is a security guard patrolling the school at night, and he would come up and turn off the lights on the third floor…” Bai Ruan’s eyes became comfortable, and he continued to draw with his head up.

Lang Jing Feng was silent for a moment, and suddenly said in a tone with a hint of rogue, “It’s so dark and there are ghosts around. I’m scared.”

Bai Ruan was embarrassed. “…Are you serious?”

“Really, Teacher Bai. Give me a hug.” Lang Jing Feng said, embracing Bai Ruan. Bai Ruan stepped on the chair on the table while he was on the table. This height happened to be able to encircle Bai Ruan’s waist. He could also bury his face into Bai Ruan’s chest.

Bai Ruan whispered, “…You just want to hug me, right?”

Lang Jing Feng chuckled. “No, I’m really scared.” As he said, he pulled Bai Ruan’s left hand and led him to touch the hard muscles of his chest, and whispered, “Teacher Bai, touch my heart. It’s beating so fast because I’m that scared.”

Bai Ruan didn’t pay attention. There was already a piece of hard heat in his hand, and the regular and fierce pulse licked his palm like a flame.

That was indeed a very fast heartbeat.

“Don’t, don’t make trouble!” Bai Ruan hurriedly withdrew his hand, and the drawing was finished immediately. He didn’t dare to struggle when he stood so high, so he could only bite the bullet and let Lang Jing Feng use his two steel-like arms to hug himself.

After a while, Lang Jing Feng, who buried his face near Bai Ruan’s chest, smiled lightly and asked, “Teacher Bai, are you also scared? Your heartbeat has become faster.”

Bai Ruan replied with annoyance, “You’re contagious.”

“This can also be contagious?” Lang Jing Feng rubbed his face against Bai Ruan’s snow-white shirt, and asked in a low voice, “Then, me liking you, can it also be contagious?”

“…What are you talking about, how much homework did you complete?” Bai Ruan felt nervous, but didn’t dare to think about it. He eagerly suggested, “Otherwise…you go downstairs to my office to do your homework?”

Lang Jing Feng replied helplessly and indulgently, “I’ve almost completed it. I haven’t been idle for two nights of self-study.”

The topic was successfully diverted and Bai Ruan didn’t say anything.

Except for the pounding sound of an inverted ghost, there were only two overlapping fierce heartbeats in the quiet corridor, pounding, puffing, forcefully vibrating in the eardrums…Wolves and rabbits had extremely keen hearing and they could clearly hear the sound of the other party’s heartbeat, and knew that the other party could hear the voice of his own heartbeat. This was no less than an ambiguous torture.

After one of the arrangements was finished, both of them had signs of redness on their cheeks. Fortunately, the surroundings were too dark to see anything.

Bai Ruan clapped the chalk dust on his hands, pasted eight cleansing symbols on the eight positions of the formation as a medium, and then removed Lang Jing Feng’s wolf paws that had been around his waist. He jumped down from the chair, and said, “I’ll lure it to the middle of the array. You drag the table back.”
