92 Chapter 92 Demon war

Years had passed since then and the demon king had regained his powers and was trying to break the seal, the Elder Gods noticed this and made preparations to stop him once again.

But this time humans were powerless against the demon king, their guns and technology would have no effect on the demon king and his armies so they had to find other ways to stop him.

So they made preparations to train warriors on Earth to stop the demon king and that was why Aaron was chosen, with the power he possess, he could turn a virtual reality into a real reality so when the demon king arise, Earth would have warriors to fight for them.

The door to his office opened again and this time Aurora stepped in and saw Aaron standing up clearly stressed.

"What happened?" she asked as she moved closer to him.

"I was summoned, the time is drawing close and we are still not ready, currently only the top ten players are strong enough to face off against a demon" Aaron spoke as he sat down.

"The competition is now fierce now that the top ten players had been revealed, all the other players are aiming for the top ten spots and it's creating quality warriors"

"They are only doing that because of the money, I should have activated PvP from the very start of the game, I wanted to make sure players were not getting killed but it only decreased the competition"

"It's not your fault, I have an idea"

"I'm listening," Aaron said.

"What if you make an exact copy of the demon king's armies to test warriors" Aurora suggested.

"That's a nice idea, I'll add it to the list and update the game later today, I already told Williams to add some upgrades, I'll work on the demon now," Aaron said as he walked towards the wardrobe in his office.

"What about weapons, you should create more powerful weapons to boost their chances of survival"

"Not necessary, only one of the legendary weapons had been found since the start of the game and no mythical weapon had been found, so creating more weapons is just a waste of time if no one finds it"

"Then make it easier for them to obtain these weapons"

"By making it easier I'm weakening their potential and strength, if a legendary weapon can't be found by a player then he doesn't deserve to have it"

"You are right, and even if the weapons are handed to them they would need experience and skills to be able to handle powerful ones"

"I'm going to create the demons and start a war"

"A war...wait you are going to start a war in the game?"

"Yes, I'm going to make the demons wage war against the players and see if they can handle the assault?" Aaron said.

"What about the low-level players, they wouldn't be able to fight against a demon" Aurora spoke.

"The demons would only be present in the Silver and Gold continent so it won't affect the low-level players," Aaron said as he reached out to grab a VR helmet.

"I'll leave you to it" Aurora spoke as she stepped outside.

Aaron took the VR helmet and went back to his seat, he sat down and put on the helmet, the helmet was slightly different than the normal ones used to play Nova Online.

Aaron closed his eyes as the helmet covered his entire head, he heard a beeping sound and immediately the sound stopped he opened his eyes.

He was in a vast white room with no end, in front of him a beautiful lady stood there staring at him.

Alex felt a touch on his shoulder and he opened his eyes and looked at his side, Annie was standing there looking at him with an angry expression.

Alex couldn't believe he fell asleep, he yawned and sat up from his bed, he was still feeling sleepy as he stare at Annie.

"What's wrong?" Alex asked in a low tone.

"I was busy cleaning your bathroom and you were sleeping, I thought you would help me a little" Annie pouted.

"You made the mess, it's up to you to clean it," Alex said as he stood up, he went towards the bathroom to see the work Annie had done and also use the facilities.

Annie was wearing Alex's clothes, she wore a black sweatshirt and black trousers, she lay on the bed as she was tired from cleaning the bathroom.

"Annie, did you take a bath in my tub?" Alex asked as he stepped out.

"Yes, after cleaning I was dirty so I took a bath to freshen up, I look good right?" Annie asked.

"When are you leaving, I'm going to take my bath so you can go"

"Huh! do you think I'll spy on you when you are taking your bath," Annie said with a smile.

"My bathroom is quite safe, I don't think you can spy on me, or don't you want to leave, if you want I can lock you in when I'm going" Alex chuckled.

"You won't find your door when you get back...I'm just a little tired, I'll leave soon" Annie said.

"The first train leaves in an hour, I'm getting on the second one so I have an extra hour to get ready," Alex said as he looked at his phone.

"Why not just get on the first train?"

"Aren't you going to visit your parents, we could go together" Alex said to her hoping she would agree.

The ride back home would take at least eight hours and Alex could use a friend to talk to at that time, Alex was currently in Woodpine which was located in Hillwood.

His parents lived in Winterville which was the closest country to Hillwood.

"Thanks but I'm okay," Annie said as she faced away from Alex.

"Oh, I thought you missed your mum and dad, sorry for bothering you," Alex said as he turned around, Annie was the only kid of her parents so she loved her parents dearly.

Alex said that hoping she would attack him then he would lure her into traveling with him, Alex stopped in his tracks as he waited for an answer but none came, he turned around and Annie's face was buried in one of his pillows.

"You really don't want to go, I thought I could trick you...Annie, are you okay?" Alex asked.

"Hey, Annie what are you doing..." Alex spoke as he walked towards her and raised her head, he stopped his sentence as tears were flowing down from Annie's eyes.

"Annie you are crying, I'm sorry I didn't mean that?" Alex immediately apologized.

"Y-You are not the problem..." Annie mumbled softly as she cried.

"Then what is it, is something the matter?" Alex asked as he sat on the bed.

Annie sat up and hugged him without saying anything, Alex didn't complain he just went along with it and hugged her back without asking again.

After a while of sniffing and sobbing, Annie finally wiped her tears as she let go of Alex, he was looking at her without saying anything but his face was asking for an explanation.

"There's no need to tell me if you don't want to tell me about it," Alex said.

"You would probably find out," Annie said.

"Does it have something to do with me, or someone I know?"

"It's my parents," Annie said in a low voice.

"What happened to your parents, is something wrong?" he asked almost immediately.

"T-They got divorced..."

"What!! they split up, I'm really sorry" Alex said as he held Annie again, Alex couldn't believe what happened that made her parents split up and he couldn't ask Annie.

Alex had been to Annie's house when they were little and Annie's mum was really nice but her dad wasn't around, Alex till this day had only seen Annie's dad once, he was away on business trips away from home.

"You know, I already told you this yesterday before you got drunk and almost left your apartment" Annie chuckled softly.

"Really...you know how I behave when I'm drunk, luckily I was at home or the urber driver would have made different stops" Alex spoke and Annie burst into laughter as she recalled a past experience.
